My iPod classic was stolen from my car is there away to recover it

My iPod Classic was stolen from my car is there away to use iTunes to recovery it ?

The only way that you can track it, is if you had find my iPhone app on, and it needs to be connected to a wi-fi network.  You should change your iTunes password as soon as possible.

  • My Ipod Classic was stolen from my car and I don't have the serial number, is there a way to find the serial number on the apple store (I remember registering my ipod on itunes) and track it somehow if somebody else wants to use it on itunes?

^ That's basically my question, any help is appreciated.

No. Even if you found the serial number, it wouldn't help; there is no capability to remotely track or disable an iPod other than the iPod touch.

  • Hi there. My iPod Nano was stolen from my car today. I do know the serial number of this stolen device. Is there any way that Apple can block another user from connecting this stolen device to iTunes?

Hi there. My iPod Nano was stolen from my car today. I do know the serial number of this stolen device. Is there any way that Apple can block another user from connecting this stolen device to iTunes? Also, if another user was to attempt to connect this stolen device to iTunes, would Apple be able to inform of the username of this person in order that I could then pass this information to the police?

  • I think my ipod nano was stolen from my car.

The serial number is registered to my account, is there any way to find out if it's been used on someone else's account to locate it?

No, report the theft to the local authorities.

  • Received an apple id password reset email the night ipod classic was stolen. Coincidence?

My iPod classic was stolen from my vehicle. The same evening I received an apple id password reset email. Is it possible that the thief initiated the email with just the iPod and maybe my name (as it is on the vehicle registration in my car). There is no way this person could know my email address to initiate a request.

That's the only answer, if your email address was on the iPod the thief has it, everything on the iPod is open to him/her. But it would have to include your AppleID.
    It was a coincidence.

  • My iPod Classic was stolen and returned to me by police but now it "cannot be synced because it cannot be written to or read from". I noticed the thief had changed the format to "windows" but I have restored it and still get the same message.

If the media is in the library then yes it is that simple. Connect the device, load it up with your media. The problem is when you try to connect a full device to a new empty library on a new computer when iTunes will offer to replace the content on the device with that in the local library, i.e. nothing! (For anyone in that position see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device).
You should be able to add your devices at https://supportprofile.apple.com/ though I'm not sure what happens if the second hand iPod was previously registered.

  • Ipod classic was stolen

ipod classic was stolen, anyway to track when it plugs into another itunes?

I've gotten my Ipod Classic stolen and Apple said they can't do anything about it, and for me to fill out a police report. I informed them that I did and still no help.  I can't believe the amount of information you are required to full out in order to have an working Ipod, I thought the requested information was for customs protection against stolen Ipod, and also thought my having the serial number would be a good way of locating any Ipod.   And for those who are saleing or sold their Ipod should report to apple that with serial number that Ipod was sold.

  • My iPod touch was stolen yesterday. I know theres pretty much no hope to get back, but is there anyway to retreve my pictures and videos?? ThanksIs there anyway

My ipod was stolen from a hotel lobby, i know thats its probably never gonna be returned  but! please let me know if there is anyway I can retrieve pictures or videos off my iPod touch that was stolen yesterday. I have priceless memories and did not download them. I'm so mad at my self for leaving it for someone to steal. And never activated the "find my device app" Thank u very much for any advice, wish there were more honest people in this world that would turn it in

Sorry about your lost Touch, and doubly sorry that you didn't have a chance to activate the "find my device" app.
The good news is that, presuming you use iTunes to sync your Touch, the songs are still on your HD. You can download the free Yamipod http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/12411/yamipod to get access to your music library. Needless to say, you can also access the library from your backup drive, should you have one.
If you don't use iTunes...there's not much I can do.

  • My iPod Classic was stolen.  What to expect trying to access my "old" iTunes library?

My iPod Classic 160GB was stolen this week.  Got it for Xmas last year and had only started using it in the last few months.  It was loaded with 150+ GB of music.  I got a good deal today on a replacement 160GB Classic (7th gen) from Craigslist.  I'm charging it now but I'm wondering what problems I'm going to encounter trying to get my 150+GB of music onto this "new to me" iPod Classic.  It would be nice if I could simply sync the library to the iPod but I'm afraid it can't be that simple.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
I logged into Apple earlier trying to get the serial # off my stolen iPod Classic and noticed that I didn't see it registered with my iPhone and my other 2 iPod Nanos.  I was 99% sure I had registered it.  Is this in anyway a problem?  Could it have been re-registered by the person who stole it?  Actually, that would be nice because I still have the box with the serial #.  But just wondering what registering provides and how my Classic isn't there.
One other thing, can I simply register this "new to me" iPod Classic with Apple?
    Thanks!

  • My iPod classic was recently stolen. Do I have an recourse through Apple?

My iPod classic was recently stolen from my vehicle during a break in. Do I have any recourse through Apple? Can I remotely wipe it or locate it?

As above you cannot remotely wipe an iPod classic.
Apple has no obligation to you in this matter. Talk to your vehicle insurer, though if the item was visible from outside of the vehicle they will probably want to reduce their pay out to you rather than increase it.

  • TS3989 My 5th gen ipod touch was stolen.  I removed the device from my iTunes account, but their pictures still show up on the photostream on the one I purchased to replace it.  How do I get this to stop, the cops have no interest in their faces, nor do I

My 5th gen iPod touh was stolen a month ago.  I immediately removed that device from my account and yet today I looked at my photostream and there are tons of pics of these people on my photostream.  How do I get this to stop?!?

Change your iCloud ID password: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5624.  After doing so, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new password.

  • Is there a way to get a log of the bluetooth devices my iphone has been connected to?   My Bluetooth car speaker phone was recently stolen from my car and appears to be on Craigslist.

Is there any way to get a log of the bluetooth devices my Iphone has been connected to?  I recenly had my Bluetooth Jabra stolen from my car and now a simliar one is on Craigslist.  I'd like to give my connection log to the police before I go and see if my Iphone recognizes the device in question.  Any way to get any type of bluetooth device connection log out of my iphone?

Your contacts should still be on whatever program you sync your iphone to (i.e. Outlook, address book).
The iphone is not a stand alone device. It is designed to be synced with a computer. If you have not been syncing with a compatible program, then you are out of luck. Your contacts are not included in the back-up because it is meant to be synced with your computer.
"Although iTunes backs up most of your iPhone and iPod touch settings, downloaded applications, and other information (Contacts, calendars, notes, images in the Camera Roll), your audio, video, and photo content are not included in the backup."
