My iPod classic wont connect to the computer. The light comes on but it doesn't even come up with 'connected' screen. Have tried everything on apple troubleshoot but hasn't helped. Still works in Logitech iPod player. Any suggestions please???

Have tried different computers, usb cables and ports, as well as restarting computer, updating itunes, and rebooting ipod. Still works in Logitech iPod player, however it has just wiped itself of all songs so at the moment I'm stuck with a useless iPod. Any suggestions please???
If you happen to have a USB docking cable that is new (or close to being new), try using that one. If the cause is the dock connector on the iPod becoming worn, if you try it with a cable that is not worn, it's possible that it may connect for data.
I believe the dock connector is internally part of the logic board, so it may not be economical to have a repair shop (including Apple Store Genius Bar) do the repair. You'll need to ask for pricing.

If it's the most recent iPod classic, it appears to be quite difficult to pry open. I have an older 4th gen (and 3rd gen) "classic" iPod, and those are fairly eash to pry open, using the plastic tools.

Thanks, for info, iPod Classic is a slower machine compared the Nano, unfortunately, if you read these discussions, majority of the freezes involved iTunes 10. Although if might be just slow and some impatient user just disconnect the iPod ands cause more problems. ( Yes I also did that but safely by doing a iPod Hard Reset, before disconnecting).

Antivirus has a tendency to freeze iTunes sync Operation with iPod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your iPod filesystem, so when iTunes can't read the iPod, it is pointing to this problem. Other causes is when your iPod hardisk is dying, or your battery is dying causing hardisk crashes.
My suggestion.
Connect your iPod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after chkdsk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC, do not use any USB Hub.
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected, start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.

Flash player won't work or download. It says it no longer supports power pcs. I am running 10.5.8 on my ibook G4. Seem to have tried everything. i.e. chrome, firebird, archived flash players, etc. All not supported. Any insight??? It started when I tried to upgrade current flash player and it said I needed to uninstall current version, which I did, and then it wouldn't download the current one giving me the not supported story! Please help!!!!!!
Hi Andy, that is correct, they don't support PPC Macs anymore.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

A few days ago, my HP printer software updated automatically, everything seemed fine (Mac is running Maverick, my laptop is Snow Leopard). I am looking to turn my iPad into a portable device to store and view multiple files transferred from my pc. I have tried some apps but it does not support multiple sub folder transfers. Any suggestions please?

In order to cure the problem on my iPad of the month of March 2013 only causing the Calendar to close, I amended all "All Day" events on April 1 to timed events. Now my Calendar will not open, although my Calendar on an iPad 2 and on iPhones 5 & 4 work perfectly. I have tried turning iPad off/on, but no effect. Any ideas please?
I'm having the same issue with my 3rd gen iPad too. I always viewed my calendar in month view. It won't even open since it's stuck on month view.
I've quit the app (properly closing via taskbar) and re-opened - crashes immediatly.
Quit the app and rebooted (via holding home/power buttons until restart) and opened - still crashes immediatly.
Anyone know how I'm able to get access to the app so I can change all day events to timed events in April. Is it just April 1st or all of April? I haven't even opened my iPhones iCal yet to see if it's having the same issue.

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them. -
Working ipad BUT black screen, have tried everything, please help
Please help. I have an ipad with a black screen. The screen works because when I reset by holding the buttons down for 10 seconds, it restarts and I can see the Apple logo. When I touch the screen, voice is on, if I try turning off the voice with 3 finger tap, the voice turns off but the screen is still blank. I have tried updatinf the ipad's software via ITunes, but that has not made a difference. I have also tried to restore from backup, but it wants my password and there is no way to input it with a blank screen! I cannot think of anything else that I can do. I ipad clearly is working but without the screen showing I cannot seem to do anything?
Advice appreciated.I have solved this now by going into an Apple store.
They basically had to do a hard reset as they admitted their was some sort of software problem. They connected the ipad via Itunes, held the home and power button together for 8 seconds, then released the power button whilst still holding onto the the home button.
This then opens up various menu prompts on your PC/Mac to have a complete reload.
I am afraid to restore the ipad back from a previous version in case the problem happens again. At least it is working now though! -
How can I get the "send " button to work. I've been using messages for some time, but occasionally it won't respond when I hit 'Send"??
Messages only works with other iOS devices, but if you were trying to text with a non Apple device you should see a not Registered error with a red exclamation mark. Maybe you are typing the message in the subject field by accident.
Go to Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off. -
Instructions in iTunes 'Help' not working to delete unwanted download - any suggestions?
I stupidly took 'advantage' of a Starbuck's "Pick of the week" idiot TV episode, and now I can't get it off my hard disk. I followed the instructions to select it and press the Delete key, nothing happened. (It was supposed to give me the option to move it to the Trash.) I tried selecting it and then selected Delete from the Edit drop-down menu. I tried to drag it to the Trash, which also didn't work. Does anyone know how to get rid of mistakes like this download? I have a hard time keeping enough free space. Now I'm reluctant to download anything from iTunes, concerned I'm committing the disk space permanently.

Mavericks will not download from the app store. It shows up under "other purchases" but the action button is grey and will not allow me to install, uninstall or redownload. I meet the system requirements but nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated!
There is nothing wrong with my iTunes, is more of the App store that I am concerned about. And I've tried the "Authorise this computer" yes it does download when using iTunes, but no luck with App Store. And, yes I am logged onto iTunes when doing purchases.
I find this really fustrating because the App store works fine on my ipod but once it comes to my macbook, it does not download. A few seconds later after I click on an app to download, the pop up message notifies me that the purchase cannot be downloaded.

For some reason my ipad when i open the app store will not load the Featured or Top Charts section. it will load turn on Genius and the updates. I tried several different things, nothing is working. can anyone offer help please.
IOS 6 WIFI FIX FOR NOW!!!!!
The only quick fix for now is to reset your Network
Setting/General/Reset/Reset Nettwork Settings
Make sure you copy your password somewhere. I did so on Notes so that i could copy and paste.
This will work for a while but the problem keeps coming back in a day or so but at least its a quick fix.
I have the problem on both my Iphone and Ipad 3 with IOS 6
The only other permanent fix is to go back to IOS 5 which I had back when I tried IOS 6 bata and had the same problem which I thought Applw would have Fixed.
