My ipod connects and diconnect in a loop when trying to restore
i recently changed the battery lcd and digilizer because of this problem and it didnt fix it ... i cant get my ipod touch 2g to stay connected long enough for itunes to restore it.
Deggie,It turns the iTunes on and it gives me the following messages:
You have an Ipod that needs to restore. do you want to restore? I click yes...
Your iPod was restored... wait till it appears on the screen. - It does not appear...
iTunes need to recover you iPod, pls let it connected.... I do continue...Then it says,
iTunes detected an iPod in restore mode... You need to restore it to utilize it with iTunes. - I do OK.
It shows the following screen:
I do restore.
And it goes over and over again...

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Iphone won't turn on, and says 'unknown error 2009' when trying to restore?
this morning my iphone turned off and wouldn't turn on. I plugged it into the charger and it said to connect it to itunes. Once i finally did that, at first it couldnt detect it but now it keeps telling me an iphone has been detected in recovery mode and to sync it I need to restore it.
Here's the problem, everytime i try to restore it, it comes up with something along the lines of, it cannot restore becvause of 'unknown error 2009' and as soon as i unplug the phone it turns off. Just downloaded the new software from itunes today for my iphone 4. While talking on the phone while plugged into macbook (charging) my call was dropped and then my phone turned off. Itunes now says it found my phone and it was in recovery mode and I need to restore it. When I try to do that I get an error code of (2001) and I am unable to go any further. any help from anyone please? Thanks. Ben

Are you using a Mac or PC? The step about ports, it not really relative to your issue (error 2001)

(2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, and so on) If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. Learn how to reset the SMC. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue continues, it may be related to conflicting security software.
So I would try an SMC reset if you are on a Mac. But mainly, try a different USB cable if you have one. -
IPhone 5 stuck on iTunes connect logo then shows error 9 when trying to restore
my dad came home with his iphone today and today and said how something had happened and it shut off and didnt want to turn back on it just stays on the itunes logo screen when i go to restore it on my computer itunes does recognize it but when it comes down to finally restoring it it goes pretty much all the way through then gives me an error when it gets to verifying with apple part on itunes please help im on windows 8

Can anyone help me pls. , I deleted an app on my Ipod Touch, and It was deleted but when I connected my device on my computer and went to iTunes>"apps" , I still saw the app I deleted and it says "install" . Guys, how will I delete it permanently? May you Pls help me. Thanks

Earlier today I was asked to update mu IOS which I did through my wifi (power connected). On return I just had the "connect to Itunes" icon. I've tried to restore the settings as suggested on the summary page but after downloading and verifying the connections and device the restoration locks up after about 30-40minutes due to an unknown error.

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -
When trying to restore and update my ipod touch it comes up with an error message saying: "The ipod can not be restored this device isnt eligible for the requested build" How do i fix this?
I am having the same issue. I just had the battery replaced at a third party store. The battery powers the ipod up but it needs to be restored. It is saying it isn't eligible for rebuild. I am running MAC OS 10.4.11 itunes v. 9.0 and I just want it to be restored. I need help. Oh and its an 8 gb ipod touch.

When trying to restore or even contact itunes store my computer states the ipod softdate server could not be contacted. When I checked the setting everything look correct. I have just changed from using xp on my computer and now using windows 7 so I am a bit lost with the different layout
