My ipod deleted my rented movie!!

i purchased my movie on itunes and i watched it on my ipod for about 2 minutes. then the next time i synced my ipod it was deleted from both my library and ipod. (note: my itouch is a 1st gen and this happened) i dont care if i get the movie back im just wondering what happened so it doesnt happen again.

Rental movies don't sync. They can be transferred to a compatible iPhone or iPod, but on transfer, they are removed from the iTunes library. Rental movies can be transferred back to iTunes during the rental period, but they cannot exists in more than one place (computer or device) at a time.

  • Deleted a rented movie (before watching).  Can I get it back?

I deleted a rented movie on my iPad before I watched it. I did not sync with iTunes so it is not on my computer. iTunes recognizes I have rented the movie before but I assume will charge me again if I rent it. Is there a way to get the movie back without paying for another rental?

  • HT1657 How can I delete a rented movie from my ipad before its expiration date?

How can I delete a watched rented movie from my Ipad before its expiration date?

    Hello, K M Cartwright.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You definitely can delete the movie prior to the expiration date.  However, the movie will automatically disappear from your iTunes library 24 (or 48) hours after you've begun viewing it.  Here are the steps on how to delete iTunes media.
How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store

I downloaded Hunger Games onto my  ipod touch from itunes.  I've long since watched the movie.  It is now locked so I know the rental is expired.  I thought they were suppose to automatically be deleted, but this one has not.  How do I remove it?

  • My ipod deleted all my movies and music

ok i was syncing my itouch and it came up with this message that it couldnt find the itouch so i unplugged it and hooked it back up. when i went to the summary page on itunes, it shows that all my songs and movies were deleted and was replaced with the orange section (other). now i have no room to put movies but only songs. do i have to restore my ipod to get my space back or do i have to just deal with it. also if i have to restore my ipod will i have to pay for it since my itouch is a 1st gen.

my problem is similar to this but my ipod touch was not hooked up to a computer, i did not sync it, it just randomly deleted all my music and videos. All my apps and pictures are still on it. When it is hooked up to itunes, the capacity bar full with my "music", but it lists it as other. This has happened once before, and i would really appreciate if this problem could be resolved.

  • How to delete a rented movie

I have a rented HD movie that is taking up space and will not play I got from iTunes.
iTunes store agreed to credit me "as a one time exception" for the movie they sent me that will not play. I suppose that means the default is that we pay for movies that don't work when we get them.
But my angst is that it is taking up space (I know I have 64GB but...) and I would like to get rid of the movie.
    Any thoughts?

Never thought of holding and clicking on the X. Thanks, I was restoring the iPad and getting it done that way. Your way, much simpler

  • HT204088 RECOVERING A RENTED MOVIE

Deleted unseen rented movie from IPad.Can I recover it?

And to think, I thought the problem was just me.
I tried renting Pirates of the Carribbean 3 last weekend and it froze. I finally gave up on it and rented it through my cable company.
I tried to rent No Reservations last night and iTunes keeps freezing. My time's running out on my rental and I won't be able to watch it, because of this stupid problem.

  • IPod touch won't remove expired rented movies

ipod touch 2nd gen won't get rid of my rented movies that have expired. When I hit the video button, the movies show up and then disappear, so I don't have time to hit the button to delete them. As a result, my iPod is getting clogged up and I don't know how to get it removed. I need to figure out how to clear up the memory. Anyone have an answer?

    Hello Gcaz,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
    Try this:
    1. Open iTunes and have the device attached.
    2. Click on the iPod Touch device in the left panel.
    3. Click Summary.
    4. Check Manually manage movies and music.
    5. Click the drop down arrow to the left of the iPod Touch icon.
    6. Click Rented Movies.
    7. Try deleting the unwanted movies again.
    See if that helps.

  • Rented movie will not self delete

i rented two movies the last week. both were moved to ipod, both were viewed on ipod, both have expired (24hr view window) while on ipod.
the first one self deleted, the other remains on my ipod. this expired movie is not listed under the rented movies portion when at the itunes level (and device is selected). however, when i click on the ipod under "devices" in itunes, then select the "rented movies" under the list of directories, i see the rented movie, just ghosted.
i cant select or delete it.
i have re-synced several times but i cannot get rid of the movie.
    suggestions?

figured out how to delete movie. but what i havent figured out is why i had to. my only guess is i didnt completely watch the movie in 24 hrs (i quit while credits were rolling). this is the only difference from the first movie that auto-deleted.
    the fix/work around:
set your ipod to "manually manage music and video" I also had "enable disk use" although i dont think it matters. once you've done this you can select movie on ipod while docked and delete.
    good luck

  • I tried to put a rented movie on my ipod touch and it kI tried to put a rented movie on my ipod touch and it keeps telling me that my computer is noteeps telling me that my computer is not authorized. But it is. I have other rentals on it. Why this movie?

I tried to put a rented movie on my ipod touch and it keeps saying that it can't be done because my computer is not authorized. However I have other rented movies on it.

Try deauthorizing and reauthorizing the computer.
