My iPod display is larger than the screen, how do,I change it  back?

I don't know how this happened.  It was fine then I pressed the home button to get out of an app and now the display is huge and it's hard to navigate around the screen.

Never mind, we figured it out.  Needed to double tap with three fingers to zoom back out.

  • Why would the display be larger than the screen?

My Mac has started opening with a screen that is larger than the display. (I may not have the terminology quite right)  Here's a non-techie description...if the phyical display is 1680x1050, Finder or Safari open up at, say, 1720x1200. If I want to have the toolbar visible at the top, I cannot see the dock at the bottom. If I want the Apple to be at the top left corner, I cannot see the time at the top right. In both cases it is one or the other. Restarting has no effect on this annoyance.

Try holding down control and scrolling down (or up, it depends). That should zoom down to fit. I assume you've checked the preferences to see that you have the right size selected.

  • My desk top is larger than the screen, how can i make it fit all on one screen ?

My desktop does not fit on the screen.  It is set to the highest resolution, but when I move the mouse to the far right or left, there is more desktop that shifts over.  How do I correct this ?

Are you zoomed in at all? The default key for zooming should be Control. Hold Control and use the mouse scroll wheel (or 2 fingers on the trackpad) and zoom out. If that's not working, open System Preferences > Mouse (or Trackpad) > and set a "Zoom while holding..." default key and try it.
If that doesn't work, try using different resolutions in Display settings in System Preferences and see which one works.

  • All of a sudden my diplay appears to be larger than the screen. The display scrolls with the mouse. How to correct?

My screen scrolls with the mouse to show the entire display. Looks like the display is larger than the monitor. Have no idea what teh cause ws but have been unable to correct. Any suggestions?

Went to universal access, turned off zoom and it corrected the problem.
    Thank you.

  • EMac desktop is larger than the screen / display ????? Help

My oldest mac, an eMac 1 Ghz G4, 640 mb SDRAM, running 10.4.11 has had a screen display problem for months now. The graphics card is ATI Radeon 7500 (CRT - 1280 x 960 @ 72 Hz, 32 bit, no core image supported). It is over 7 years old.
The desktop is larger than the screen, so it is a hassle to constantly have to move the desktop around.
I'm not sure what it started after.
I have tried changing all the display resolutions, colors and freq to no avail. I also re-calibrated the screen without change. Updates to 10.4 have not changed it.
Is the graphics cards failing ?? There is no distortion or lines on the screen. The kids can still play games on it fine.
    ANY thoughts ??

This is a real long shot, but is Zoom by chance turned on in the Universal system preference? If so, turn that off and see if that makes a difference.
If not, you can try resetting PRAM (restart the system and hold down the p, r, command and option keys until the system gives its startup chime a second time) and see if that does anything useful.
If neither of those possibilities help, I'll have one other suggestion, so post back and let us know.
    Regards.

i accidentally tapped my iPhone 6 and everything got huge on my screen. now i can't even log onto my phone because everything is so big on the screen. how do i get it back to normal view, so i can log on?

i googled for answer to resolve the zoom problem.  all the anwers just told you to read links but didn't tell how to fix the screem back to normal then it can be able to go to Setting to fix the zoom funciton.  HOWEVER, I accidentally found the solution myself by using a fingers or more
to draw circles clockwise on the screen....it will reset it normally.  I spent hours trying to go diagonally, compressively still didn't work.

  • RDP connection to remote host displays smaller resolution than the screen resolution

Having a problem with a surface with 8.1 installed.  When connecting via Remote Desktop Connection to a remote host, the display is smaller than the display settings set for the desktop on the surface.  If I change the Display settings for the
Surface, the display in the RDP session is still smaller.
I've tried changing the resolution settings for the connections under the display section of Remote Desktop Connection, but all that does is change the session to a window instead of full screen and does nothing to change the actual display size of the remote
    session.
I believe this may be a function of DPI Scaling, but changing settings on the local surface display does nothing to change the behavior in the remote session.

    Hi,
Sorry for my dilatory reply. Actually acctually to your descriptioin, I doubt whether this problem caused by Surface itself problem. It would be better to contact Surface Forum for further

  • All of a sudden my menu is longer than the screen, how do i make it fit

The menu on my MacBook Pro is wider than the screen. I would liek to know how to get it back to fitting on the screen so I do not have to scroll left or right to see the apple or the spotlight.

Press the key combination option-command-8 to disable Zoom. If you're using an Apple wireless mouse, open the  Mouse pane in System Preferences and uncheck the box marked Smart zoom.

  • 15" Powerbook Display seems larger than the physical 15"LCD screen

I am not sure whether this is the right place to post this, but my Powerbook display is acting very strangely. This occurred just after I viewed a large photo in my mail application (by clicking "view slideshow"). The photo was sent to me by a trusted colleague so I don't think any funny business is going on.
After viewing the photo and then closing the window, I was surprised to see my desktop "sliding" around when I moved the mouse. It is as if my physical display is smaller that the resolution given in the Display preferences window (which I checked is set for 1280x854). So for example, right now the top Apple Menu is slightly off my LCD top edge.
The other feature is that the text is no longer crisp. This is consistent I think with my display driver (ATI Mobility Radeon 9700) not mapping to the full pixel resolution of the LCD display.
I have never seen anything like this before, even after hooking up to external displays (like a Dell 1680x1050 LCD) or 800x600 LCD projectors. Also have no clue how to "reset" things. Usually a reboot would fix something like this.
Any clues. I did just upgrade to the last Tiger version (10.4.11), so I am not sure if this is related at all to that.

I just did one check. I logged into another user account on my Powerbook, and in that account the display was just fine, so whatever is going on here is some software setting in my own account. However I am not sure how to change back to "normal". Any ideas where display settings in the hardware accelerator might be stored. Playing with the Preferences Display window doesn't make any change.

  • All files larger than the screen aligns to the right by default

    Hello,
    I looked around from the existing solution pool but could not find one so here I go;
PROBLEM; All files or programs(Numbers, Pages, Finder, Web brousers, Itunes etc)that do not horizontally fit the sceen(ie requires horizontal scroll bar) in my macbook pro moves to the far right by default.   Hense I cannot view the program on the left side unless make it all small enough to fit the screen.  Is there a solution to this?
I am fully updated on the platform 10.6.8.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the tips Captfred.
As you mention it works while I hold Control button and this is helpful.   Now is there also a permanent way to keep the screen aligned to the left(or the alignment of files on the screen stays as positioned by the user) without holding the button?
    Thanks.

  • I lost the bar for bookmarks, history, esc. on the top left of the screen how do I get it back

I clicked something and the bar on the very top left of the screen was gone. the had tools, history, and bookmarks. I don't know how to get it back, please help. Thank you...

Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. <br />
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.
