My ipod does not turn back on

I love my ipod touch, but for the past couple of weeks i am having some major problems. I jailbreaked my device back in september and i unjailbreaked in october because it was quite laggy. I didn't have any problems until the holidays when my ipod just shut down by itself. I would charge it and just say if i started playing angry birds it would shut down by itself. I didn't have any problems for 1-2 months after  i unjailbreaked it and i really need some help. I restored it twice and i still had some problems. I would shut the deviece down by holding the power button and i would slide the red icon at around 50 % and it would not turn on when i pressed power button and it would just show the apple logo and then turn back off. I NEED HELP.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod does not turn back on when headphones are plugged in.

    Hi all,
In my previous iPod, it would automatically pause a song when the headphones are removed and if the iPod is off, it would automatically turn the iPod on once I inserted the headphone jack.
My 4G iPod for some reason does not turn the iPod on automatically when I insert the headphone jack. Is this normal or is there some setting that I need to change to accomodate this?
    Thanks for any help,
    Ed

Yep, the problem seems to appear when the iPod has been left to sit for an hour or so. Unplugging the headphone jack will pause the song and after a while the display will cut off. Plugging the jack back in does not turn the iPod back on, however hitting the menu button will turn it on where it was last left.
I could have sworn my previous iPod didn't behave this way; it would come back on when the jack was plugged in.

Model iPod 2 Touch, 8G, It stoped working less than a month after it was purchased but I never sent it back for repairs or warranty to Apple.. Is there still a way to repair it on my own. It just simply does not turn on or charge and it is not recognized by iTunes when I plug it in to my MacBook Pro.

  • IPod will not turn BACK ON!  Cold weather?

My iPod will not turn back on. I left it in a cold car for a few days while I was at my family's house, and the battery must have died while I was there. I came home and plugged it in, but it wouldn't charge or turn on. Help!!

To reset your iPod nano (2nd generation):
    Reset
    1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
    2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
    Retry
Retry your iPod with a different USB or FireWire port on your computer (please note that the latest iPods can only be synced through USB).
    Restart
Restart your computer, and make sure that you have the latest software updates installed.
    Reinstall
To reinstall your iPod nano (2nd generation):
To update and reinstall your iPod software, first download the latest iTunes software.
Next, open the new version of iTunes and connect your iPod to your computer. iTunes will then automatically check to see if your iPod needs to be updated and perform the update for you.
To then check the software version on your iPod, select it from the source list in iTunes. iTunes will display the information about your iPod.
    Restore
To restore your iPod nano (2nd generation):
Warning: Because Restore erases all of the songs and files on iPod, make sure to back up any files you've saved on the iPod disk. All of your songs, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, and games can be loaded back to your iPod provided that you have them stored in your iTunes Library. If you use the Nike + iPod Sport Kit, see this document for more information.
    How to restore your iPod:
Make sure you've reinstalled the latest version of iTunes.
Open iTunes, and then connect your iPod to your computer.
After a few moments, it will appear in the Source list in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source list and you will see information about it appear in the Settings tab of the main iTunes windows.
Click the Restore button. You will be prompted with one or more restore options that may prompt iTunes to automatically download of the latest iPod Software. The 4 possible restore options are:
Restore Option 1: Restore - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod.
Restore Option 2: Use Same Version - Restores with same iPod Software version already on iPod even though a newer version is available.
Restore Option 3: Use Newest Version - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
Restore Option 4: Restore and Update - Restores with the latest iPod Software on your computer.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen indicating that the first stage of the restore process has started. When this stage is completed, iTunes will instruct you to leave iPod connected to your computer to complete restore.
During the stage 2 of the restore process, the iPod will show an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remains connected to the computer or iPod Power adapter during this stage. Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see since the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage 2 of the restore process is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time.

  • Rebel XS does not turn back on.

My wife has a Canon Rebvel XS, and after it is turned off it will not turn back on until the battery is removed for a short time and then replacew..  If it goes into auto-power off mode it does not turn back on until the battery is removed and then put back in.  We have replaced the battery and the same issue occurs.  i have turned off the auto-power mode so it stays on continuosly and so far have not had any issues as long as the camera stays powered on.  The camera is about 3 years old  and looks like it is at 9699 on the file numbering though it may be at 19k since we aren't sure if it rolled over the counter.
Aside from this it appears to be running fine.  She has also gotten occasionall Err 99.

    Hi Jpatten,
Since this happens consistently and you're receiving the "Err 99" error message, unfortunately, your wife's camera will require repair to correct this issue.  You may click here for service options:

  • My iPad does not turn back on!

My iPad suddenly went dead, it does not turn back on.  I have a 4 digit passcode for the iPad screen but I am unable to enter this passcode. I tried to hold down sleep/wake button by itself, sleep/wake and home button together for at least 10 secs, connecting to iTunes via USB (unable to detect the device), nothing! Please help!!

Is the battery empty ?  It can take up to 15 minutes of charging from empty before it will respond. Try charging it for a while if it might have been nearly empty and then retry a reset : pressing and holding both the sleep and home buttons for 10 to 15 seconds.

  • IMac does not turn back on from sleep mode

    Hi all,
I've having a problem sometimes that my iMac won't turn back on after I put it into a sleep mode. This does not happen everytime. After  the machine does not turn back on, the only workaround is to unplug the power cable and connect it back. Then I'm able to turn on the iMac. After the machine boots up, and I will get the crash report said that the machine does not turn it off properly.
I tried to reset the SMC before and it did not resolve the problem.
    Any idea?

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • IPhone 5 turns off and then does not turn back on easily

My iPhone 5 was working great, that is until I woke up this morning.  It was fine and then about 30 minutes later it just turned off and would not turn back on.  I tried a hard reboot and no luck.  I went out to the support communities and found where someone suggested toggling the silent button on and off.  I did that and it came back on.  But, it was only on for about 4-5 minutes and turned off again.  I was able to get it to turn back on again, did a back-up and upgraded to the new iOS.  After the update the phone was fine while it was plugged in.  I then unplugged it and it turned off again a 4-5 minutes later.
I was able to get it turned back on again after many attempts and did a factory reset and wiped the device.  Once again, once I unplugged the device it died shortly after that.
This tells me that with the newest iOS and the phone returned to factory settings, I'm really thinking a hardware issue.
    Anyone else having this problem?
    Michael

Might be a bad battery. Check to see if it is eligible for the battery recall: iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program - Apple Support.

  • Ipod does not turn on after recharge

I have a problem.... After recharging my ipod to full, it won't turn on. I checked if it was on hold and it wasn't. Then I tried to press the menu button and the middle button a few times and still didn't work. I also tried to unplug the ipod from the USB cord and plug it back in. After that, my laptop could not read my ipod. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it or know what is going on?

    Hi boomer204,
Have you tried the suggestions in these Knowledge Base articles? They might help with your issue:
    iPod won't turn on
iPod stops responding or won't wake from sleep
    iPod: No power or frozen
    iPod battery will not charge
Also, is your iPod still under warranty, or not?

  • Zen Vision M does not turn back on or conn

I have had my Zen for about a year now and I love it (if it worked). The other day, I was listening to it until the battery power was too low to play anymore. After charging it back up, it never came back on.
Tried pressing the reset with no reaction. When I plug it into my computer, my pc does not recognize it anymore. I only see the blue light come on on the power button when it is plugged in to my computer.
If I try to turn it on, I just see the same blue light.
Using Widows XP with WMP .
Can anyone help me? Since my computer does not recognize, I cannot do firmware upgrade.

That's normal. Let it charge for a few hours and then you will see the icon on the screen that it is charging up.

  • Ipod does not sync back to itunes

    Hi there,
just got the new 80GB iPod and have a problem when I sync my iPod back with iTunes. iTunes seems to load new media on it (pictures, music etc.) but sometimes 'drops' everything I did on my iPod since the last sync. I was very disappointed as I just rated about 60 songs and when I plugged it back in, iTunes told me I had not played any songs in the past two days and none of the ratings were transfered to iTunes on my Mac. The iPod did NOT run our of battery and I did NOT change the ID3-Tags in iTunes of all the songs before syncing again.
On my past iPods I noticed that songs that have been changed in iTunes will not get the ratings of the iPod but I never experienced the complete "ignorance" of me listening to any music on my iPod.
Also, probably not related to this issue: Has anyone ever had the new iPod not skipping songs when you pressed the next or previous track buttons? I sometimes cannot skip but still navigate or scroll through the menus etc.
Thanks for any help - I never had those problems with my first and fourth generation iPod.

formatting the ipod resolved the problem for me, and also on a friends ipod with the same problem (160GB version)
