My ipod does not update from version 4.1.2 to 5.0 as I do? mine ipod is 3g

because my ipod third generation did not upgrade from 4.2 to 5.0? says that version 4.2 is the most updated!

I suspect you really have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1  If yours is an 8 or 16 GB one it is a 2G since Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPod.  A 32 GB one can be either.  To identify yours:

  • Java does not update older version when installing from MSI file

    I'm using an MSI file of Java because it's easier for deploying through SCCM. Anyway when I do everything works fine except it does not update older versions of Java. So for instance if I have Java 7 update 7 and install Java 7 update 21 using the MSI file I'll then have two versions of Java installed on my computer. Anybody know a way to install using the MSI file where it updates older versions of Java (as long as it's the same major revision) like the exe would?

    Yes same problem here. I had a successful rollout with the MSI package and version 1.7 Update 17 on 1500 computers!
    I packaged the Update 21 and on my first test-clients the control panel crashes when I try to open it. But the setup ends successful without any error code all eventviewer entries are successful and it seems that the environment is running. Firefox plugintest was successful.
    Why doesn't offer Orcale the MSI files?! Since last year Java cost me o lot of time deploying Java. There is no update which you can release quickly because there are always bugs to deploy them.

  • IPad 2 will not update from version 4.3.5 (8L1).

    I got an iPad 2 from work and it will not update from version 4.3.5. There isn't even a software update option in settings. I have reset and erased it a few times, and still no update option. I have plugged it into my computer to try to update it that way and every time iTunes prompts me to download and update the latest version, it loads for a few seconds and then I get an iTunes message that says "The IPad software update server could not be contacted. Make sure your network settings are correct and your newtwork connection is active, or try again later." the network connection IS active, I can use safari, and I have "tried again later" and still no update. PLEASE HELP!

  • My iPhone will not update from version 4.1

    My iPhone will not update from version 4.1, everytime I try to update on the iTunes iPhone screen, the response says "your iTunes version is current"....I am not trying to update iTunes, I just want to update my iPhone. How do I fix this?

    You must purchase 10.5.8 from an Apple store, either in person or online. You can also update to 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) if you have an Intel Mac. The current version is Lion, (10.7), but you must have Snow Leopard installed to upgrade to Lion. You also need an Intel Mac.

    My CS6 Production suite for Windows 8 does not update from the help menu? The appilcation Manager says: "The update server is not respondiing, the server might be offline temporarily..." I have registered correctly. I have turned off my AVG virus protection and tried to update my software, still the Application Manager gives the same response. When I login, I can see that my serial numbers are there, so it must have registered correctly.
    Help!

    If you don't want to download the updates manually, then you need to update your Application Manager.  The relevant links are here:

  • Execute SQL Task does not Update from a Date Variable Reliably

    I'm using a DateTime variable in SSIS 2008 that is used to set the SQLStatement property of an Execute SQL Task.
    "DELETE FROM Labor WHERE Week = '" + (DT_WSTR, 100) @[User::Week] + "'"
    Week is the next Sunday:
    DATEADD( "day", @[User::DaysTillSunday] , @[User::TheDayThatIsTwentyMinutesPrior] )
    DaysTillSunday:
    DATEPART( "dw", @[User::TheDayThatIsTwentyMinutesPrior] ) == 1 ? 0 : 8 - DATEPART( "dw", @[User::TheDayThatIsTwentyMinutesPrior] )
    TheDayThatIsTwentyMinutesPrior:
    (DT_DATE)(DT_DBDATE)DATEADD("minute",-20,GETDATE())
    The SSIS Package deletes the current week's data, reloads it with fresh data, then calculates the difference between the current week and last week.
    The problem is that randomly, instead of deleting the current week, it will delete the previous week.  This happens maybe 5-10% of the time.  At least it does until I rebuild the package and import it into SQL Server again.
    I'm guessing that the Execute SQL Task is not updating the value of the Week variable before it executes.  I started with the source type being a variable.  Then I decided to try Direct input and pass in the Week as a parameter (OLE DB Connection
    Type).  That didn't work either.
    Most recently I tried writing the Week variable to a table first, then having a sequence container with all the tasks second.  Slightly better but I still saw the date was wrong 2 times in about 90 executions.  I was hoping that writing the Week
    variable out to the database would force an update of any associated connections to it, but that didn't seem to work.
    Any ideas?  Is this a known issue, am I missing a setting?
    thanks,
    John

    John, computers either work all the time or have a bug. I suspect it is the latter.
    To find it [faster] you need to log what the resulting expression was used in the package.
    I am baffled how rebuilding a package would fix anything like setting a date.
    It might be even dependant on when you run the package.
    Why
    DATEADD("minute",-20,GETDATE())
    DATEADD( "day", -8 , GETDATE() )
    It must be enough to set the week (that appears to be a date) as above.

  • LT movie viewer does not update from consecutive renders

    Working on a project I created an intro with LT using some of the Live Fonts. I did a "Render Movie..." to see the results. Noticed I had a spelling error so I went back and changed the typo, saved, and then did "Render Movie.." again. When it displayed the results the original movie with the typo played back.
    Suspecting some type of cache issue, I opened up Quicktime and selected the rendered movie and sure enough, the change had actually been made correctly, it is just that the viewer in Live Type, I suspect, is not picking up the change and playing a cached version of the first edit.
    Is there something I'm missing in a preferences setup or is this yet another "Feature" of which us users would call a bug?

    - The iPad 1 can only go to iOS 5.1.1
    For video problem try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • APSB11-05 Does not update the version of ActiveX flash plugin in Add and Remove Programs

    After installing the latest update for flash player and ActiveX flash plugin the version of adobe flash plugin remains with the old version, when it actually updated the plugin. The only way to get it to update is by removing previous version and do a clean install. This can certainly affect our software inventories.
    Is anybody else experiencing this?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi, It has always been recommended to Uninstall any current version of Flash Player prior to Installing the update.
    Flash Player doesn't "add" to what is already there, it's a complete new version.
    I'm not clear on your setup or software inventories. Perhaps some more information would help.
    Thanks,

    Rocketscience I would recommend reviewing the installation log for the update to determine why it is failing.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.

  • ITunes Last Played does not update when syncing from iPod

    When I synch any of my Ipods, the last played field does not update in Itunes.
    If I play the song from Itunes. (11.1.5)  Last Played  works fine.
    I tried the crossfade solution, but that did not work. My crossfade was already not selected.
    Any other thoughts?
    Thanks

    As if by magic it is now working. I went away from the mac for a couple of hours, came back and it started to work. This is scary as I would expect this kind of action on a Mickysoft machine but not a Mac. Ho Hum - at least the problem has been sorted even if I don't know how.

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
