My ipod doesn't complete a sync. It's a video ipod from 2006.
About a year ago it stopped working and has started to again. Now, though, when I connect it to itunes it doesn't stop syncing on its own. Restoring it doesn't help.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on anoterh computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Autosync - Sync Detection Problem with Video/Audio from different sources
Hi,
i've got the following problem:
I'm editing a feature film, where video comes from tape and audio from harddisc-recorder. The clips are combined/linked manually via in-point (slate).
If I cut this video/audio combined clip in the timeline, and move only the audio 3 frames to the right, sync detection informs me correct about the out of sync problem (3 frames). BUT: If I split the audio file in two pieces, the left clip still has the "out of sync" info in the timeline and remains "linked" to the video, but the right clip doesn't show his relation to the video anymore !!!
Is this a bug ?
Because, if I use video and audio from one "media-source", ex dv, the sync detection in the timeline is working correct with the above example ?
I'm lookin' for a similar way to sync clips like autosync with media-composer and thought combine audio and video clip to a new combined clip should do this....

As for the sync, I guess that's OK - it's no worse than what I had before (and with the waveforms back, less of an issue to do manually). Would be nice if they'd add the ability to offset the audio track in the Modify Clip screen at some point (and it would open up the multi-cam sync feature to more users), but I can cope without for now.

I lost equipment due to lightening strike several years ago, which also had old equipment and was not available. I gave insurance images and provided original receipts (my purchases were made on Apple.com), and Apple provided electronic copies of the receipts. You may want to contact Apple and check, if they can provide a copy. Insurance may depreciate the original value. I was offered residual value which i used to buy newer replacements, and provided the receipts for replacements back to insurance.

Hi! So I recently bought a new MacBook, but I've had an iPhone for years. I want to sync all of my music from my iPhone to my Mac's iTunes. Whenever I open iTunes and connect my phone though, it want to sync my iTunes library, instead of the other way around. This would erase all my music from my phone. Anyone know how to sync the other way? From iPhone to Mac?
You cannot synch the other way, with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes.
What you need to do is move the iTunes library from the computer to which you've been synching your phone and put it on your new MacBook. -
IPod from 2006 just started melting while charging HELP
My sister and I both got iPods around the same time in 2006-2007, about 6 months apart. Neither of us had a warranty on ours after these incidents. She started to notice damage to her iPod about a year and a half after having it, took it to a Genius Bar in Minneapolis - said that charging it melted through the click wheel. They replaced it, no checking, no questions asked regardless of having no warranty. Mine (same model) also was having issues. Before it melted, I noticed it kept telling me there was an error and that it was corrupt. I restored it dozens of times to say the least, and waited in Indianapolis out of state for +40 minutes before they checked it, told me TO RESTORE IT, and couldn't do anything about it because they plugged it in and said it was probably an internal error.
Then 6 months later it started to burn while I charged it (while still being corrupted every other time I'd plug it in to iTunes) and there is now a crack that was not there before, on the screen. So everything is messed up, there is not an Apple store less than 4 hours away and I do not have the money to send it in to tell me it needs replacing.
Is there any way they would deny me to have it replaced unlike they did for my sister? I haven't been able to bring it in since then because of location and it is SO FRUSTRATING, because it is 3 years old, yes. But the fact that my sister had no warranty and they didn't even have to plug it in and replaced it, while mine says it has an infinite-long corruption and no one does squat.... Will telling them my sister's was replaced with a new one free off her warranty do anything? Because I am afraid they won't even replace it after 3 years and all of a sudden charging it just burns straight through the plastic... Anyone help?!Try another Cable.

Mobile account doesn't complete initial creation and sync process
I'm trying to setup a mobile account for a network account but it won't complete the sync process on the client MacBook Pro. Both the server and the MacBook Pro are running 10.5.5.
When I login to client it prompts me to create a Mobile account and proceeds with the sync to create the account, but when the sync is complete it just logs in with the default account setup. None of the user files or settings (desktop image, preferences, etc) appear. The sync process says "Checking..." for all the files that supposedly get copied to the client, but it looks like it doesn't complete.
Is there a way of knowing what the problem is? Is there an issue with the user's home directory, some file that prevents the sync and mobile home creation from completing?
Thanks.I solved this myself. The user ended up have a folder on his desktop that contained a backup home folder from an old powerbook that he was trying to save. It was a complete home folder, Documents, Library, etc and I thought it might be interfering with the sync of the normal home folder. So I created a folder called Bad Stuff in the home folder and copied the old powerbook home folder into it. Then opened up the Sync Settings and excluded the Bad Stuff folder from the sync. And it worked, the sync when fine and is resyncing fine.
Hope that helps with other people with a similar problem. -
I upgraded to ios6.1.3 on ipod touch and after I completed a sync on my PC but I suppose it did not sync, because now it will not restore from a back up and wants to restore from another account that I have saved. Can I some how restore the apps to avoid having to pay for them again and having to recreate settings?
As I said, the backup that iTunes makes does not include apps (and music) if those items where not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you restored they will not be on the iPod.

I have updated my itunes three times today but my itouch will not complete a sync due to error 13019. My ipod classic synced fine, but my itouch is what i use. how do i fix this?

Two of our ipod touches won't connect to the home wifi. They have done before. All other apple devices connect fine. They can see the wifi devices, appear to try to connect (the circle whirls around) but connection doesn't complete. Ideas please?
I have 2 of them that only connected for a day and then reset network settings and they connected again for a day now resetting network settings does not fix it either. My iphone used to work with my home network but after upgrading to the latest OS which is the same versions as the ipods it no longer works either. Acts the same as the ipods. It would seem that the latest tweeks to the OS is the problem with wifi connectivity.

ITunes to iPad 2 Music Sync Doesn't Completely Sync All Music
I've just updates my iTunes to 11.1.4 and iOS to 7.0.4.
Now I attempted to sync all my music and books from my Macbook OSX 10.8.5 to my iPad 2.
The books sync works perfectly. However, when I try to sync the music, only first song of each album are synced while the rest are not.
When I eject and reconnect the iPad, all the song are detected on the "On My iPad" tab, however the song don't appear on the iPad.
On the HD usage bar below, the unlisted songs are written as "Others", not as "Audio".
Anyone has idea what happened, and how to fix it? I've try restoring my iPad to erase all data, but the same issue happened over and over again each time I synced them.I've figured out the main problem.
When I try to sync my iPad with iTunes, at some point usually it automatically cancels the sync.
I've tried to unselect the song from syncing with manual sync, but it still automatically cancels.
I've also tried unchecked and rechecked the Sync Music checkbox but the problem still presist.
Please, anyone can help me? Cause I need my iPad to be able to be synced with my iTunes. -

I've seen similar posts earlier in Apple discussions, but I haven't come across a definitive answer yet…So, let me ask again:
Up until 6-7 hours ago, iTunes 12.0.1 was working perfectly well including syncing with my iPhone (I use an oldie but a goodie and it suits my purposes, iOS 6.1.6, 3GS). Specifically iTunes now "hangs" and will not complete the syncing process with my iPhone. It get to "2 of 6" in the backing up process, and then the spinning beach ball appears. I keep my iTunes library on a separate external HD (USB).
Even if I only want to launch iTunes 12 to use it (and NOT sync), the application freezes.
In similar posted questions, "Linc Davis" has asked that the user run a diagnostic using the Terminal utility. I have done this, and I paste the results below.
Any help with this is appreciated!

Thanks, once again, for repeating yourself by sending me the message above (a message you have sent to MANY users with this problem)!
However, you give me this great opportunity to say two things: 1) YAHOO! I fixed the problem, and 2) I want to share how I did so because I hope it helps others.
With the help of reading info at this website http://osxdaily.com/2011/09/22/fix-the-itunes-library-itl-cannot-be-read-version -error-when-downgrading-itunes/, I followed this procedure:
1) I deleted the iTunes 12.0.1 app from my computer
2) In addition, in reading related details at the website above (i.e., by clicking on links on the page AND scrolling to the very bottom to view links to related articles), in my iTunes library folder, I changed MY CURRENT "iTunes Library.itl" to "iTunes Library.old", as the website advises. The current .itl file was the one being used by the iTunes app I had just deleted from my computer.
3) I went to the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and dragged a copy of the second-most recent .itl file to my desktop (for me, this file was "iTunes Library 2014-07-23.itl").
4) I re-named it to "iTunes Library.itl"
5) I then dragged a copy of the file in step #4 to my iTunes folder (the folder in which you now also have the "iTunes Library.old" file).
6) I closed all remaining apps on my computer that were opened and I restarted it.
7) Now, you don't have any iTunes app on your computer, so I downloaded a .dmg of iTunes 12.0.1.26 and installed the app (for example, you can download from here: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/5661/apple-itunes.
8) Once installed, I opened iTunes and immediately I got the dialogue box, "updating iTunes library" -- THIS TOOK FOREVER AS I HAVE CLOSE TO 1,000 SONGS + OTHER ITEMS IN MY LIBRARY!
9) I patiently waited until the library update completed, but it DID COMPLETE.
10) Viola! iTunes 12 is not "hanging" (or freezing) any longer. I can navigate around the application.
CAVEATS:
1) Before I first deleted "the corrupted" iTunes 12, I was able to open the Preferences panel, go to "Devices", and check the box that stops the app from syncing with my iPhone. This setting seemed to carry over; thus, I have not tried to sync yet…WISH ME LUCK!
2) After going through steps 1-10 above, I didn't immediately have Internet Radio available in the application (i.e., I didn't see it), but it is now showing up and it works! I just had to wait for a few minutes...
3) I also use iTunes Match, but I haven't turned it on yet in the newly installed app. On the iTunes Match page, it says, "Add this computer" or "No thanks". So, the app is behaving as if I'm just beginning to use iTunes Match for the first time. Later, I will click on "Add this computer", and I hope it goes smoothly!
4) This isn't a caveat, but I think I should say: my iTunes library is on an external USB HD (I have to say THANK GOD for that). Obviously, this has implications for doing steps 2 to 5 above. The newly installed iTunes 12 app had no trouble in finding where my library is (I had it set up this way back when I was using iTunes 10).
5) One last piece of advice: Make sure that when you plug your iPhone into any other computer only to re-charge but the iTunes app on that computer wants to sync with your phone, you DON'T let it sync. First, you should go to Preferences in the iTunes app and click on "Devices". Then check the box that says, "Prevent iPods, iPhones,…….from syncing automatically." After that, you would be able to plug in your iPhone to another computer to re-charge it.
FINALLY: I THANK EVERYONE WHO WAS WILLING TO SUGGEST SOLUTIONS TO ME REGARDING THIS PROBLEM! I see that MANY users are having this difficulty, so I thought it would be fair for me to share how I resolved the issue -- my iTunes is running fine now... -
Can't Complete the Sync with new Computer
I can't complete sync the iPhone with iTunes 64 bit or 32 bit. The new computer runs a 64 bit OS. The error message states that the iPhone cannot sync 'Unknown Error (-53). It keeps on coming up. Can someone help me to how to complete the sync.
Deselect Sync music followed by selecting Apply.
If you now don't have anything selected under the Music tab, the Podcasts tab, the Movies tab, the TV Shows tab, or the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences and you don't have manually manage music and videos selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences, this should mean no iTunes content is available on your iPhone now - no music, no podcasts, no movies, no TV shows and no selected photos transferred from your computer.
If so, try selecting Sync Photos only under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences, select the folder of photos you want transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync. Is the sync for transferring photos from your computer successful? If yes, follow this by selecting Sync Movies under the Movies tab for your iPhone sync preferences, select a movie to be transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync. If this was successful along with transferring selected photos from your computer to your iPhone, the problem doesn't lie with photos or movies.
