My Ipod Doesn't Sync In The Way It Should (KBPS Issue)

I've had always my music library really tight, I mean, I have the artists, and their respective albums, with their respective songs ordered in the proper way as the original records.
I've never had a problem and everything worked fine, until I installed Itunes 7.0: when I sync my Ipod the songs aren't anymore like Itunes displays, they are ordered and displayed from better to worst sound quality (kbps), and I can no longer listen to the records in their original order, making my Ipod useless since I'm a big fan of prog rock, and many albums are conceptual therefore there is a linear story, I mean, there's a particular order in which the artist wants their songs to be listened. I can't listen to my music in the way it should be listened thanks to Itunes 7.0... Please Help!!!

Hello,i have a problem with the Ipod,is that the Ipod doesn't sync all the songs in my Itunes. I have 373 songs in my Ipod and 512 sons in my Itunes. What do i do?

    Hello,
I take it you haven't unticked any of the songs listed on your iTunes Library? Also have you tried selecting all your songs which you wish to add to your iPod, and dragging them over your Devices "iPod Nano"; and seeing if that copies all songs on to your iPod?
Another idea is just check that your iPod has enough space for the rest of your songs to be added to your device.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPod cannot be synced. The disk could not be read or written to.

    I have...
G5 ipod video 30Gb formated to PC
    iBook G3 600MHz
    iTunes 7.1 (59)
    iPhoto 4.03
I use my ipod to contain all my videos, photos and music manually and nothing stored on the iBook itself, as it only has a small hard drive. I have a large amount of photos that I have in iphoto (a total of 3254 photos and 60 folders!) which I am using whilst travelling the world. I have recently started syncing photos to the ipod as a backup, also adding a copy of full res photos. This syncs fine and I have all photos on my ipod, but when I add more photos to iphoto and then plug in the ipod it will start to sync though itunes, but then will come up with an error stating "The ipod "NAME OF IPOD" cannot be synced. The disk could not be read from or written to."
The ipod still has all the photos it originally had, but not the new ones.
I have tried deleting the file that is in the library that contains the information file, this forces the ipod to re sync and start all over again with adding the photos, which it will add the new photos, but the probelm will happen again as soon as more photos are added through iphoto!
Can anyone give any advice, I really can't format the ipod and start over agaian as I will lose all my music etc and I don't have enough room to store them elsewhere!!!
Please any help please! I really need to back these files up incase something goes wrong with the computer, then I will lose all my pictures!
    Help!
    Thanks
    Rob

    Hi Rob!
First off, it might be worth upgrading to the latest iTunes version, which is 7.1(15) (or at least I think that's what it is on a Mac... for Windows, it's 7.1.1.5).
Regardless, you can install the latest version of iTunes here:
    Download iTunes - 7.1.1.5
Also, if that doesn't seem to help with anything, have you seen the suggestions in this article?:

  • I have recently copied my iTunes to a new computer using the instructions from Apple site, via an external drive. My iPod will not sync on the new computer. The option to sync automatically is greyed out and it won't let me set it. How do I resolve?

I have recently installed iTunes on a new Windows 8 laptop and copied from my old XP system using an external drive. This all went ok. The problem is that i can't get my iPod classic to sync on the new laptop. I did a factory reset and re-install. It still won't sync. When I hit the 'sync' icon it does nothing. In the Options screen the option to automatically sync is greyed out and doesn't allow me to enter anything in the box. How can i resolve this?

You need iTunes on the computer. There is no iTunes for your phone. See:

  • IPod doesn't sync with iTunes at all...

I'm having trouble with my iPod is because it does not sync with the computer. I assume the iPod doesn't recognize it somehow. I've tried to manually manage music and videos but when it told me to disconnect, the box was not checked. Awhile back, I deleted some music from the MY MUSIC folder, the folder was too full of music that it deleted all of my music, (including videos). My only concern is that my iPod has stopped syncing to the computer ever since this incident occurred. If you can, please share what needs to be done in order for my iPod to sync properly and gain all the songs and videos I had added after losing EVERYTHING Thank you.

I think I know the problem and it's solution. The iPod "thinks" it's linked to a different library and therefore does not synchronize. No idea what happens in the background there, but here is what I did:
First, I went back to the previous update on the iPod (not sure if that's necessary at all, but I just wanted to go to where I started from.
The UNinstalled iTunes (to be safe I backed up my tunes) and reinstalled it. Then pasted backed up tunes into new iTunes music folder and overwrote newly created iTunes library files.
Then I connected the iPod, which now told me that I had an old version and needed to update, which I did.
Then a window popped up and told me that my iPod was connected to a different library and if I want to connect to this one, overwriting everything on the iPod, which I said yes to (it didn't matter anyway, since it was now empty after the RESTORE I had done).
iPod then downloaded all the songs from my library again and we are as happy together as we've been before
I think what happened was that after installing the latest update, that window with the "different library connection" had popped up as well and I must have clicked NO because of the "overwrite" comment which scared me. Unfortunately, even with "reset warnings" it then never popped up again and until I reinstalled iTunes.
    Hope this helps!

  • Ipod cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found

Up until recently, the only thing there was wrong with my Ipod was the occasionally "100% freeze that only could be solved by draining the Ipod from battery", which it did less than three times a month. Then this sunday, when I was going to work (nightshift) I took the bus as usually, and listened to music on my Ipod for about half an hour.
I hear music and podcasts from my ipod when I work, I connect my ipod to a jackstick and connect it to the radio of the wagon I drive around in. And then it started acting weird. The sound seemed to freeze up, but after 1 min or so, it played a fraction of a second and seemed to freeze up again. So I held down the toggle button and menu button, which did restart it as it should.
I chose the same podcast and it started playing as if nothing were wrong. But then it did the same thing, and on the display where the name etc. of the item I was playing were supposed to slide from one side of the ipod to the other, was moving a bit and then coming to a complete stop, and then it would move a bit again.
So I drained it from battery, and recharged it, when I got home from work. When I woke up I tried to play the same podcast, without listening to it, though, it did play, but the timer moved awkwardly, the seconds moved in a funny way.
Then I tried using the restore function, in Itunes, thinking it would perhaps erase some bad software and installing it all over. But now When I try to synchronize the ipod with my itunes library, it synchronizes a few songs and then the red circle that comes with 'do not disconnect' disappears from the ipod and itunes says "the ipod 'name of ipod' cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found."
After that the picture with the red circle and the'do not disconnect' freezes up, and the only way to turn it back on is to hold down the menu and toggle buttons, as if trying to get the ipod to go into disk mode. Also, Itunes can't see the ipod anymore.
I went to the shop yesterday and said there was something wrong with it prior to my restoring it, but the guy in the shop made it sound like it was my fault for pressing the restore button, and that it would most likely start working if the software on it were updated.
The software on my ipod is up to date, and I've tried removing and reinstalling the newest version og Itunes.
I'm sorry for the wall of text that just hit you headon, but I hope that telling all the details might shed some light on my problem.
I hope someone out there can help me, or refer me to another topic with a solution. I just realized how addicted I am to that little piece of hardware.
    Thanks in advance

    UPDATE:
I've just made an interesting discovery (at least I'd like to think so myself:).
When I got home from the gym today I plugged my ipod in the computer to recharge the battery (I had without any incidents heard around 60 songs). When Itunes detected my ipod it didn't recognise the library on my ipod and it wanted to restore the ipod and copy it's current library onto the ipod. Fine, I thought since it's completely indifferent. Only Itunes started with error 69 again.
So I thought, to heck with it.
I deleted my library 100 %, and I've just finished the hard work of sorting out my new library and my new playlists. I only added music, about 1600 tracks and synced - WITHOUT any errors occuring. I tried then to add the podcasts, of which there are 61 and Itunes was able to sync 55 of these before getting the error 69, the last 5 being podcasts of older date, which it hasn't had any problems with earlier.
So right now, I'm thinking can the podcasts interfere with me syncing songs? or something far out like that?
btw. itunes recognises the library on the ipod, so I don't think that's a problem anymore.

  • IPod doesn't sync with iTunes anymore!! HELP!!

I am in complete despair - my iPod doesn't sync with iTunes anymore. It all started a couple of days ago, after installing the latest updates of both, iTunes and iPod. After that, I noticed that the iPod wasn't synching the changes and new additions I had made in iTunes.
I tried everything so far with no success. I did reset the iPOd, reinstalled the iPod updater, than did a RESTORE and now my iPod is completely empty, but refuses to download my music from iTunes.
When connected, it shows up, start "updating iPod" and several seconds later shows "update complete". In the iPod window I can all the songs (in grey) from my library, but they are not being transferred to my iPod!!!
    Please, help!!

  • Weird Problem "The iPod cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found

I have had my 2nd gen Ipod Shuffle since May 9th, 2008 and it has never given me problems until now. My computer was getting kind of backed up (I am running on 37.5 gig with 256 mb of RAM), so I decided to completely re-do my computer. Not a problem, I have done it hundreds of times before. Well, I get everything set up again and decide to change what is on my shuffle. I plug it into my computer like normal and Itunes comes up asking to erase and sync to the computer. Everything looks fine. But then when it goes to sync, it comes up with the error "The iPod cannot be synced. The required disk cannot be found.". So I reinstall Itunes and try it again. Same problem. Then I format it using my computer. The problem is still there. I tried to restore it in Itunes, but it came up with the error again and froze. Then I downloaded the ipod restore program and ran it, and it did take everything off. I plugged it back in, but it still had the same problem, even when it was completely re-set. I even tried unplugging my mouse and keyboard, but it didn't work. Then I decided to experiment. I uninstalled Itunes for a while and plugged the ipod into my computer to see it it would show up as a disk. It did. Then I reinstalled itunes and tried it again, but as soon as itunes started up, the ipod icon in the "My Computer" box disappeared. So I cannot use itunes to fix my problems because the computer reads that the ipod isn't there while itunes is running.
I have no idea what to do now, and if anyone knows, please help me!!!
    Thanks
P.S. Sorry this was so long

I apologise beforehand this messgae is long
I have a strange problem too. This doesn't involve "required disk not found" problem.
I also have a 2nd generation IPod Shuffle.
I have a Windows XP and the latest service pack, so my PC is not at fault. I have all my music on an external hard drive which works all the time, as i have playlists in ITunes and Windows Media Player and they always work. I also bought a 80GB Ipod some 2 years ago never had a problem with the music being on an external hard drive.
With the shuffle i made a playlist up of all the tracks i wanted on it. I then Plugged the shuffle in and i seemed to sync. The playlist has 200 tracks this in total is 900MB. The shuffle is 2GB!!
After syncing i unplugged went to listen and only 5!!! songs were on it.
I noticed that the external hard drive was dissapearing. I mean when i go into my computer and into external hard drive and it was empty. When its got 350 albums on it, 1000s of pictures etc.
The external hard drive seems to dissapear when the shuffle is plugged in
Does anybody know how to fix this as listening to 5 songs i rather boring!!!!

  • "The ipod cannot be synced.  The required file cannot be found"

    Hi,
I've been using my mini for a couple of years now without any problems, but the last few days have been difficult.
It started out that podcasts took a very long time to load onto the ipod...and now they won't at all. When I try to drag and drop a podcast onto my ipod, I get the following message, *"The ipod "John's ipod" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found".*
I did the first four of the "5 Rs" but I'm very hesitant to restore because if it doesn't solve the problem, my ipod will be empty and I won't be able to put anything on it. At least as it stands now I have a few old podcasts and music.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I was having exactly the same problem after about 4 hours decided to manually manage my music and transferred a few songs by dragging them out of the library and dropping them into my ipod. this worked although still have to work on this if i want to sync all my songs at one time. Hope this helps for you
