  • Ipod doesn't want to charge on Bose

Okay so I've had my Bose Sounddock since January and up until now I've had no problems, but now my ipod just won't charge on it, or any other kind of speaker dock system. It says its charging but the minute i take it off it says low battery and dies. It does however charge through the mains, and once its charged it does hold its battery, so it's not like the battery has had it, but its just annoying having to wait for it charge up all the time. I just want to figure out why it won't charge on the Bose???

Is your Mains charger putting out +5V or +12V (it should say on the plastic case of it)? And does the iPod charge ok off a computer USB port?
If the mains is +5V output and the iPod charges off the USB port, then what is likely happening is your iPods dock connector is damaged so that the Firewire power pins are no longer connecting internally (or maybe even broken off).
5th Gen iPods get power two ways. Either through the USB power pins or the Firewire power pins. Even though these iPods no longer sync with Firewire, they still can charge off Firewire. Bose uses the Firewire power pins, as do many docking radios, to feed +12V (or higher) voltage to the iPod. USB charging is off +5V.
So if your iPod charges on +5V or USB but not on the radio dock, you likely have problems with the dock connector on the iPod and those specific Firewire pins or something internal to the iPod with respect to the Firewire power inputs.

    Try:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Iphone doesn't want to charge, please help?

I have 3g Iphone, and I had a bit battery problem last few days, but now it just doesn't want to charge. Can you please help me, to repair it?

Reboot your computer and the iPhone for starters.
If you're on a Windows PC, connect the iPhone and open your Device Manager. To do that, click your Start Menu and do a search for Device Manager. Or if you're on Windows 8, open the Charms Menu on the right side and do the search from there. Once in the Device Manager, go down to Portable Devices and click the small arrow to open the sub-menu. One should say Apple iPhone. Right click on that and try to Update Driver Software. If that doesn't work, you can uninstall the driver, unplug the phone, then plug it back in to get it to reinstall the driver. That might take care of it.
Are you able to get a hold of a different Lightning cable just to be sure it's not your cable? I've seen instances where these cables get bent or twisted, especially at the Lightning connector end, and the wire inside the sheathing breaks even though the outside looks fine.

  • My ipod touch 5gen doesn't want to charge!!!

. It keeps saying that it isn't certified and may not work reliably with my ipod. I have recently updated to IOS 8.3... I need help! I use my ipod for everything! i need help pronto! Does anyone know whats wrong??? If this is a scheme thatapple has  pulled, then i am not a happy person...

What is not certified?  Are you using an Apple charger and cable?  Most often use of a non-Apple cable or faulty cable will get the message that the device is not supported, not that it is not certified.
Can you get a different cable to use to see if that takes care of the problem?  If not, take it to an Apple store genius bar where they can use one of their cables to see if that is the issue.

  • My ipod doesn't Sync or Charge, but does recognize USB cable

    Hi There
I have a 4th gen 60gb ipod that has worked fine for about 2 years. As of yesterday it doesn't charge when plugged into a charger or USB port (2 different ports with 2 different cables) but the wierd thing is that it does sem to acknowledge the cable being connected/removed as the backlight comes on and it doesn't drain the battery whilst the cable is connected. Also it seems to charge a bit if I boot into the diagnostics menu.
Resetting has made no difference and it still responds normally otherwise.
Is it fried? What settings in the diagnostics menu should I be looking at? Is there anything else I can try? All help appreciated!
    Thanks

  • My iPod doesn't want to sync. Please help. :'(

Good day! I have a 5th gen. iPod and recently, I tried to sync it to obviously get my music into my iPod. Unfortunately, it connected, but it quickly ejected on its own. My computed doesn't recognize my iPod. And everytime I try to sync, this always happens. I've tried everything posted on the help page of Apple but it still didn't work. How can I fix this? Please help me. Thank you and God bless.

Does it stay connected long enough for the option to restore appears? If your ipod was previously owned, it might still be synced with that other computers library. Try this, make sure your ipod is fully charged, charge it in wall outlet, after that, press the center button and the menu button at the same time and hold for about 6-10 seconds. As soon as it powers off and as soon as you see the apple, immediately press center button and the play/pause button same time. It might take you a couple tries to get it, but what you should see is a check mark and it will say "Ok to disconnect", In the top part of the screen you will see "disk mode".
You need to be n disk mode and then your computer will recognize the ipod as being in recovery mode. Now you can start up Itunes, make sure your library is how you want it and do a back-up of your itunes library. Now plug in the ipod. You should see the summary page and should then be given the choice to restore. Which will set it back to factory settings. If that doesn't work, it sounds like a hardware problem. good luck

  • Ipod doesn't recognise wall charger but will charge through pc

I'm completely puzzled - its stopped picking up charge all of a sudden if I plug it into the mains although my OH ipod classic charges fine with the mains adaptor. If I plug it into the pc it is charging fine via that. I tried resetting it to see if that made any difference but it doesn't.
If I switch it off so it has a black screen and then plug the mains adaptor in the screen display doesn't light up but I can see images as though it is powering up.
Any suggestions - its out of warranty in Nov this year.

I have the same problem here. Charges via usb but will not charge via wall or car charger.

  • The iPod doesn't want to turn on

Hi. My iPod touch 5 doesn't work. The screen is little bit loose, but the iPod still worked. But when it was approaching colder, I let the iPod be  next to the window at the nights, and after it, the battery began to be bader. When I had 100% power, 15 minutes later, it lost all the power. After a period with hard working, I began to use my telephone, and the iPod lay on the shelf, near the fireplace. It's warm there. But now, when I use a charger wich working, the apple logo comes, and after some seconds, it disappears. And after some seconds again, the logo comes at the screen, and disappears. All the time, while the charger are connected to.

  • Ipod doesn't want to work...

I just got my ipod nano for Christmas and I let it charge for three days. Even though it says it's fully charged, it refuses to work without being hooked up to the computer or another power source. When I unplug it, it doesn't run like it should. When I unplug it, the screen freezes and refuses to shut off. I can't even restart it. I just got it! What do I do about this?

It sounds like your Nano is broken. You should return it for a replacement. If it was bought at a local store, take it back. If it was bought online, contact Apple via the support page.
