Hello Yaeltorres,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like your iPod Classic will not turn on.
I found this article that addresses that issue specifically for you.
iPod won't turn on
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1383
Make sure the Hold switch is off
Check to see if the Hold switch is on. It's located on the top or the bottom of iPod. When it's in the on position, you'll see an orange patch.
To turn the hold switch off, slide it until you no longer see the orange patch.
Press any button to turn on iPod.
Make sure the battery is charged
iPod won't turn on if the battery is empty. Instead, a low battery screen appears for about 3 seconds when you try to turn it on.To charge your iPod, connect your iPod to your computer's built-in 6-pin FireWire or high-powered USB port or connect it to the Apple iPod Power Adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet. Note: iPod models without a Click Wheel cannot be charged via USB. iPod shuffle requires a high-power USB port to charge. iPod nano and iPod (5th generation) can charge via USB or FireWire, but they require USB to sync with iTunes. If you're not sure what iPod model you have, click here.If you are connecting via USB and the battery is completely discharged, there may be up to a 30-minute delay before iPod powers up. Click here for more information.
Reset iPod
If iPod still does not turn on or appears to be "frozen" you may need to reset it. When you reset iPod all your songs and files are saved. Some customized settings may be lost.
Let the iPod battery drain
In rare cases, iPod might get into a state in which it needs to be drained completely before it can be reset. If iPod didn't turn on after you reset it, follow these steps:
Disconnect iPod from all power sources and leave it disconnected for about 24 hours.
Reconnect iPod to the Apple iPod Power Adapter or computer and reset it.
Update iPod's software
If iPod turns on after you reset it, use the latest version of iTunes to update iPod.
Additional Information
If you have tried the solutions above and iPod still won't turn on, check the following:
Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works. Note: If using a portable computer, make sure it is plugged in to a power source and that the lid or display is open. If the lid is closed the computer may go into either standby, sleep, or hibernation mode and iPod will not charge properly.
If you still can't turn iPod on after performing these steps, it may need to be repaired. You can arrange for repair at the iPod Service Website.

  • My ipod doesnt want to turn on completely and even if i plug it into itunes it wont turn on. i was wondering if there is a way i can get all my photos back from my ipod ?

in the beginning my ipod was working fine and then came to a point that i can only use it while it is connected to a charger. my brother went to go fix it so then everything was working fine. & a month or two later the apps on my ipod would stop working . i would open it but then they would just shut back down. & i told my brother about it and he said all i had to do was reset the ipod. so he did that and the apps where working fine. then 10 minutes later i pressed one of the apps and the ipod turned white and shut off. now all it does it shoes the apple then it goes white and turns off again. i really want to get my pictures back because they are important.

Connect the iPod to your computer and let it charge for a couple of hours. The try to backup the iPod

  • Ipod not wanting to turn on??? help!

My Ipod touch is not wanting to turn on. I have downloaded the new 9.1 version from itunes and it still doesn't want to turn on. The battery should be juiced up and have it plugged into my computer right now but nothing.

For the record, recovery mode is when you hold the home button while plugging in your iPod to your computer. Refer to the section about restoring below, and this support article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
First try some simple troubleshooting. Try resetting the iPod by holding both the home and sleep/wake buttons, ignoring the red power slider. Keep both buttons held until it reboots and the Apple logo screen appears. This will not erase any data, settings, or info.
Make sure your iPod is charged enough. If you cannot charge it, try using different cables and plug adapters, if available. Also try using various outlets and cable/adapter combinations.
Try restoring through iTunes (assuming that your computer recognizes your iPod). This will erase all of your data and settings, but everything will be synced back at the end of the restore if you have backed up your iPod. Make sure your library is on your computer and you have backed up your iPod, which occurs at the beginning of every sync. For the first restore attempt, when iTunes prompts you to either restore from a backup or set up as new, then choose to "Restore from the backup of..." If the problem is not fixed then restore again, this time choosing to set up as a new iPod. If your computer doesn't recognize your iPod, then try recovery mode. To do this, turn it off, press and hold the home button, and plug it in to your computer via the USB cable. Hopefully, the screen showing a USB cable with an arrow pointing to an iTunes icon will appear and you can do a restore from there, as iTunes should recognize the iPod in recovery mode.
If you are unable to get the problem fixed, make an appointment at an Apple Store to get it replaced. If it is under warranty, then it will likely be replaced at no charge.

  • Ipod not wanting to turn on

alright, I've had my brand new 30gig ipod for less then two weeks.
the problem iss that for the last few days, it doesn't want to turn on in the morning. I've made sure it's unlocked, but it won't turn on until I plug it into the wall outlet. it brings up the apple logo, beeps two times and works fine for the rest of the day.
any suggestions to make sure this won't happen again?

    Try these.

  • Ipod 4g 32G not turning on, not charging (on multiple cords, both comp and wall, 4 20min), not being detected by Itunes or Windows 7 64bit OS, will not reset, tried taking it out of "DFU", NO DMG, Itunes up2date, All I'm getting is a blank black scrn

Ipod Touch 4th generation 32G not turning on, not charging.
I have used multiple cords on both computer USB and wall USB converters. I let it sit there for over 20 min with each attempt.
It is not being detected by Itunes or my Windows 7 64bit OS. I have tried all 4 of my USB ports (both USB 2.0 and 3.0), with 3 different chargers.
Holding home and power button will not reset.
Tried taking it out of "DFU" mode but Itunes won't detect it, I didn't think that would work anyway.
NO DAMAGE, I have been very careful with it, aside from a few minor scratches. (that you can't even see unless the light reflects them)
My Itunes is up to date, as is my OS.
All I'm getting is a blank black screen. It has been working fine on this computer before. I have no idea what could have happened. I'm at my wits end here.

my ipod 5th generation won't turn on or charge and i can't hold in both the button to charge it because the hoe button is broken, what can i do to fix it?

You are going to have to take it to the Apple Store to see if they can do anything for you. The Home button is critical for using your device. You need to get it fixed.

  • IPod Dont Want To Turn On.

I had a problem with my iPod before, kinda got help of pepople here but then when it worked for like one day, I saw that it was an update there from iTunes i pressed update and then the ipod updated and now its not ever turning on even when i put it in the USB,Charger. NOTHING comes on the display.

    try this
hold the menu and the center button till the ipod resets.
once the ipod resets connect it to itunes restore your ipod
(the restore will delete all the stuffs on your ipod so make a back up before doing the restore)
then once its restored and youve got all your stuffs back on your ipod you can choose to risk updating your ipod firmware again or stick with the current firmware you have on your ipod
and if all that dont work i would strongly advise you to take a trip to your nearest apple store to let them have a look at it
