My ipod fall in the sea ... :s

please can someone help me ?
my ipod fall in the sea and 1minute after when i got it back it didn't work
what should i do please?

If it fell into the sea, i.e., into salt water, then letting it sit and dry is the absolute worst thing you can do and, on top of that, you can almost guarantee that when you do that, it will never work again after you've plugged it in or otherwise tried to use it. Salt deposits are going to be working at shorting out just about everything that can be shorted out.
These things have recovered almost routinely from fresh water immersions, usually in the laundry, but sea water and other mineral-laden things (Diet Coke, sweat, etc.) have usually proved fatal.
Frankly, you don't have a high probability of recovering it no matter what you do, but the absolute best chance would be to do something like the following:
a) Open the Shuffle up as much as possible first, using the iFixIt guidance provided in the other post or whatever other guide you wish to use. At a minimum, pop off the Hold switch and remove the glue around the USB plug, then slide the assembly out just enough to create a small opening and loosely tape it in place. You need to provide access and drainage for the next step.
b) Fill a small basin with barely warm (not hot) distilled water.
c) Immerse the opened Shuffle in the water, then gently swish it around a bit. You want water all over the inside of it at this stage, giving it a chance to dissolve some of the minerals.
d) Keep swishing until you think it's enough, then remove the Shuffle and allow it to drain on paper towels. While it's draining, replace the water with new, warm, distilled water.
e) Repeat b) through d) many more times. When mine got dumped in lake water (not salty but far from distilled, too) I did the rinse and drain cycles for about 15-20 minutes before moving on.
f) When done, turn and gently shake the Shuffle to drain as much water from the interior, then put it into some spot to dry. I used the oven with the light on, and left it in there undisturbed for a couple of days. Don't rush this process, don't put it in the sun, don't use a hair dryer, etc.
g) When done with the drying, reassemble it and hope for the best. With luck, it'll be none the worse for wear - and a lot cleaner.

Sea water and electronics don't mix.  The salinity fries the internal circuitry of the phone. Your phone is toast.
Certainly the user of any device which can be lost, stolen, or dropped in the sea would be smart enough to have had the data backed up, rght?  Your photos and numbers should be safely backed up on your computer or in the cloud.
If you didn't do this, there's no way to recover those data now.  Backups are meant to be done BEFORE disaster strikes, not after.

You'll have to get it serviced by Apple, you'll have to pay for the replacement device:
Apple - Support - iPod - Repair pricing
Apple - Support - Service Answer Center
You can also search for a 3rd party repair company in the Internet.

  • Every Ipod Error Under the Sun?!

My white 30gb 5th generation (5G) ipod video will not restore period. It was working FINE in teh beginging then songs started freezing in ipod playback (not itunes) and restore would always fix it UNTIL restore stopped solving the problem and making it worse by displaying numerous errors (see below), then yesterday for the first time ever it said please connect to computer in 5 languages which i did, then it went to the apple logo and then the sad face appeared and has been that way ever since. Since it's displaying the sad face icon, I am able to load it into disk mode and run a diagnostic scan. When I run a diagnostic scan it says restart to complete, but as soon as I restart my ipod it goes back to the sad face! I have run it in disk mode which allows it to mount onto the 2 computers I've attempted to use it in itunes with, but NEITHER ONE will allow me the option to format in My Computer- it will either ignore my command to format or tell me it cannot be fornmatted without a reason why (which it has offfered in the past) SOMETIMES it will come up in itunes and tell me it is restoring but it ALWAYS FREEZES in the middle of restore for about 5 minutes only to tell me I have the dreaded error 1418. This whole debacle started when I had error 1418 then error 69 then the click of death now the sad face and now the complete inability to format or restore. HELP!! The Genius bar will charge me $40 to fix the hard drive which as a broke college kid I do not have, is there ANY SOLUTION?!?! (I've already read just about every forum from banging ipod on my knee to opening up the ipod and reattaching the hard drive). The one year limited warranty is up in August and would like music now rather than shelling out $40. HELP!!!

I'll call those problems and raise you these..... upon initial install..mac hd destination disk not initially recognized. No registration screen or set up process ever appeared. Leopard was sucdessfully installed, however???????? Shut down, restart or log out via normal methods is totally impossible... power button pushed in for about 10 seconds and hard restart is the only option. I've had the blue screen, gray screen with a circle with a line through it. Cursor has frozen, keyboord has been unresponsive. Repair disk permissions results in the SUID file issue. None of the apple software is responding correctly. If you ever get it to open, you better not quit it and relaunch because that causes a freeze. Most applications can't even be quit or forced quit if they are not responding. I've lost my airport connection and even got a dialog that I had no wireless card installed. Half the time I can't connect to the internet. The menu bar clock has stopped. Hard restarting takes forever. Two kernel crash reports have been sent to apple because the OS "uexpectedly quit."
I did the upgrade install method and will eventually have the do the erase and install before trying again. By the way, I didn't have any of the application enhancers mentiond in other discussion forums.
I didn't know exactly where to post this because I'm having about every problem imaginable. That's why I decided to reply to your post.
After reviewing the leopard posts, it seems like there are far more problems than solutions. I've never had an apple product behave in this manner. At least I have my powerbook to fall back on until apple does something or solutions are more readily available. I'm just waiting it out for a while until I have to erase everything and start over.... I hate the thought of having to do that.

  • My ipad fall on the floor and the screen is black

My ipad fall on the floor and the screen turn black..

You may have damaged the hardware when you dropped it and if you did, there will not be anything that you can do on your own to fix it. You may have to contact Apple for repair or replacement, or visit an Apple Store or an authorized repair center for diagnosis.
In the meantime, try a reset and see if the iPad will start up. To reset the device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
If that doesn't do anything, you could try restoring the device and see if that helps, but I have my doubts that it would do anything. That doesn't mean that you can't try, though.

  • Bottle at the sea

    Hello
I had some health problems during the late week.
Now I'm in better state but I have a problem linked to this forum.
On my desktop is a file entitled : Groovy iOS Budget Template Update 8-3-11.numbers
I'm quite sure that it was sent by a forum asker but I fin no trace of the mail to which it was certainly attached.
Maybe I got it on the HD which I used for tests before installing Lion as my main operating system and I failed to transfer the mail from this HD.
If the original asker read this message,
    (1) I apologize for forgetting this 'problem'
    (2) It would be useful that he send a mail explaining what is the problem with this document.

I do have an ARCHOS AV700 too. I was more thinking about another one the size similar to iPod.
I do not understand what you mean with DRM or playing with WMP. I rip my Divx with HandBrake. Play them with QT pro (Divx codec installed) or VLC. Grab and drop them to ARCHOS and vise-versa and that's it.
The only reproache I have with the AV700 is the definition of the screen that is lame compared to iPod.
Other than that somebody gave me this other answer on a different thread (yes I actually had 2 bottles to throw at the sea):
"You're correct that the original filenames are not preserved on the pod, but id3 tags are.
So if you simply grab all those files in their hashed directories and names, import them into itunes, and ask itunes to "keep music folder organized", it'll recreate the directory structure and filenames based upon the information in the tags embedded in the tracks."
I didn't try it yet but I like it.

  • As soon as iPod is connected the iTunes close with an errror

Now firstly yesterday i had a crash caused by a dealay in processes and after that my i tunes library went blank, luckuly my music was safe and soon i restored it. After i connected the i pod it asked me to reSync the ipod becuase it appeared to be tied to another iTunes library. After i did that the Itunes closed and gave an error message saying that it has unsuspectably closed. After i got it up and running i connected my iPod again which made it think for a while after which it gave the exact same error message. I used the 5 steps which did not realy help because i cant get my iTunes and iPod running at the same time. I decieded to probe the problem first by reinstaling the iTunes which did not have any effect whatsoever on the system or the problem. A thought came to me that the problem might be in the iPod itself and that i should try somehow to reset it to the default settings, because my itunes would not work i got my pc to reset the ipod to the defaults. After which the iTunes did not like my iPod and got the exactly the same error message again. Seemingly i had already renamed and tied my iPod to another library so that would mean that the problem is in the iTunes or the computer itself. Thus i tried to reinstall the iTunes before i tried again but this time insted of "Renewing" it wanted to completly wipe out iTunes to get a fresh start. So i ask you if threr is a way to fix this or atleast tell me how to completly wipe it out!

I suppose if you enabled disk use, stored it on in the iPod, then copied the file to the computer you're wanting to play it on. If you mean directly from the iPod to a TV... no.

  • HELP??  Can't update my ipod all of the sudden??

I hooked my iPOD to my computer the other day to update some songs and walked away. Assuming all was well, I unhooked my iPOD and went through my music on the iPOD and suddenly, no songs AT ALL were there. Now, when I try to update my entire library again (over 900 songs), a box on my iTUNES pops up and states:
Songs on the iPOD cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist.
HELP??? I tried to change my drive letter and that didn't work - what should I do...any suggestions? PLEASE?

"Songs on the iPOD cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for updating no longer exist."
You get this problem when the option 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' is being used to sync your iPod and then the playlist it has been updating from is deleted. Most people use this setting when the iPod is smaller than the iTunes library. If your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod, iTunes by default makes a new playlist called something along the lines of "Owner's iPod". If you for any reason delete it, you will not be able to sync your iPod.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Nano). Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting:

  • My iPod keeps showing the apple logo + a blank screen and the lock screen keeps freezing when trying to unlock it.

Last night I turned my iPod touch 4g off randomly and then when I went to turn it back on and went to unlock the screen it froze up right there and will not unlock to the home screen to where all my apps and all that are. Ever since that happened the iPod keeps showing the apple logo repeatedly, as well as a screen being completely blank when still turned on. Also when i plug in the iPod to the computer it recognizes it for a second but the iPod does nothing and shuts off and repeats in showing the apple logo and blank black screen. I can get it to the home screen where the slide to lock button is but every time i even attempt to slide it, it freezes up and doesn't do it.
I also having been trying to restore it by plugging in the cord and pressing the home button to get the screen with the usb cord to pop up but no matter what i do, it will not let me turn the iPod off period because every time i keep trying to do that it just shows the apple logo and all of what i said up above again. I have also seen it get a white screen to show a few times , which i assume means the white screen of death. I have never seen that screen before this happened.
I know this is not making any sense whatsoever but this is very hard to put into words in explaining. I have searched the internet but i can't find a single problem that sounds like this one in solving to fix it. The iPod is on right now as i'm typing this. I haven't attemtped to push the buttons down again to fix as i would assume maybe to just leave it alone as i sleep through the night in hopes of it maybe working or even dying. I've only had this iPod for 4 months now and i just don't understand why it won't let me turn it off completely or work properly for me to restore it.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • How do I run 2 ipod nanos on the same itunes on the same computer?

Hi We now have 2 ipod nanos in the house, one 2nd generation and the other 3rd generation. How do we use the same computer with itunes set up for each nano's music? Many Thanks

No need to re-import CDs again. As long as the files are on computer in a directory accessible to logged in user then they can be added to library.
Files added in one library are not automatically added to any other library. Each library is independent of the others except in the case of deleted files. If one library deletes a file from library and disc then the other library will still have entry in iTunes but will have "!" next to it because the file itself is gone.

  • I made changes to songs on my iPod 4G through iTunes, but the changes do not show up on my iPod.What is the problem?

I have the iTunes program for Windows. Last night I upgraded my 4th generation iPod touch to the ios 5 software, which wiped out all my music. I put some of the music back on my ipod after it was restored, but then I tried changing the song information under the 'get info' option. The changes saved and registered in itunes, but no matter what I do, the changes won't appear on my iPod's music library. Any suggestions?

Now title changes are showing up on my iPod, but not artist and album changes

It shows up on my Itunes listing of Audiobooks on my Ipod, but on the actual Ipod it only shows up on Playlists.  It is marked as an audiobook in Options | Media Kind.  It is also marked to Remeber Position, but it does not do that.
