My ipod freezed up...won't do anything

my ipod is completley frozen...it won't do anything....it won't even reset
i've tried plugging it into my computer but that doesn't work either.
the hold won't work either
please help

Have you tried toggling your iPod's "Hold" switch back and forth several times?
Also, for a more effective toggling of the Hold switch, connect your iPod to your computer. Then, starrt rapidly toggling the Hold switch back and forth many times while your iPod is connected to your computer.
Then, disconnect your iPod from your computer, and see if it is un-frozen yet.
If that doesn't work, you could try letting your iPod's battery completely drain out.
Then, after the battery has reached the "Very low battery. please wait" screen, let the iPod recharge for a few hours, then try operating it again.
Also, are you sure that you are resetting your iPod correctly? To reset an iPod:
First, toggle your iPod's "Hold" switch back and forth a couple of times (leave it on the white side of the switch).
Then, press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
This resetting steps might take quite a few attempts before your iPod ends up working. (again, when you connect your iPod to your computer or another power source, this can make the resetting more effective.)

Thanks to Dave Sawyer for posting information about re-downloading an app which has been deleted. I deleted the app from iTunes. Then, when I synched, iTunes asked me if I wanted the items on my ipod touch copied back into iTunes. I said yes and then synched.
Readdledocs is now working again. It is no longer frozen. However, I have learned my lesson. I will download only pdf's from now on. I don't think it works so well with epub files. The text reflow feature of Readdledocs is exactly what I need to use for my work documents on my ipod touch.

IPod Touch 3G won't do anything?

So my iPod Touch 3G got white screen of death a couple of weeks ago. It was a hardware problem and well past warranty so I opened it up and fixed the LCD myself (it was just a loose wire, a simple shim did the trick), and it worked, but in the process of fixing it, I broke the digitizer flex cable. Simple enough, replaced the digitizer today (that's all I did, no opening anything else), and it won't turn on. Won't show any sign of life, won't plug in to iTunes, nothing. What's happened? And no, *holding the home and power button does not work*. Also, I can't put it into DFU. Thanks!

Does nobody have any ideas? I mean, it may very well be impossible to fix, but anything to try?

Restored ipod - now it won't sync ANYTHING.

I was having trouble putting new songs on my iPod for a while, so I finally restored it. Now that I have done that, not even the old songs will sync. My ipod is completely empty now and I can't put anything on it.
Is there a way out of this?

Ipod Safari & YouTube won't do anything

My iPod has no problem connecting to my router because it says it's connected and even has the signal strength showing. It also shows up in my network map on my computer.
The only thing is, it only goes to Google and does nothing else. YouTube doesn't work either.
I tried resetting my iPod, resetting the network settings, resetting it via computer, and it still won't work.
Any ideas?

I read the article & did what it says but it didn't work. Then I clicked another page where it said to go if the advice didn't work, and that didn't work either.
The only option left for me is to call I guess.

Playback pauses and ipod freezes then unfreezes after 20 seconds

Description of the issue:
When playing continuously song after song, the ipod freezes and music stops about 5 seconds in to most songs. After about 20 seconds, playback resumes and the ipod is responsive again.
Symptoms:
Only happens after one song ends and the next one begins.
Doesn't happen every time
iPod freezes and won't accept commands from the click wheel.
Troubleshooting: Reset has not resolved the issue.
Background: Worked fine before last night, when I added some more files to my itunes library by convering them from wma to AAC. I received the message during synch that itunes couldn't copy all the files from itunes, since there's not enough room on the ipod.
Once I get home today, I'll try reformatting, etc.

The first thing to do is make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes. Look on the Help/Check for updates menu option in iTunes, which will confirm that you have the latest version or enable you to download it.
The effective way to Sync the iPod is to add your songs to iTunes and then connect the iPod to iTunes after you have added your songs.
So if you have been connecting the iPod and then trying to add songs "to the iPod" - don't!
You add the music to iTunes and then sync the iPod with iTunes afterwards.
Next, try connecting the iPod to iTunes, if you get the "duplicate file message", can you post it here (exact wording please)?
Once you have the iPod connected to iTunes, click on the Device that appears on the left of the iTunes window. On the Device/Summary screen, choose (check) Sync only checked songs and videos. Providing the songs still have the check mark on in iTunes (the default when songs are added to iTunes), those songs will Sync with the iPod.
Notice the other options in additiion to Summary. Look on the Podcasts pane for the Sync option (to add Podcasts to your iPod) and also on the Photos pane for options for adding (or not) Photos to your iPod. If you change any of these options, you will need to press the Sync button afterwards for the changes to take effect.
Lastly (for now), you can only Sync the iPod with one iTunes library. If you try and Sync it with a second library on your computer, or with iTunes on another computer, all your previous songs etc will be removed and replaced with the new library.
A thought... could the duplicate file message be because you have two iTunes libraries on your machine?

Fix 1- go to iTunes and restore your iPod
Fix 2- plug it into the computer and wait for the noise then hold the power and home button down hold them down for 10 seconds on the home button and 15 seconds on the power then it should shut off and make a noise then turn back on to the lock screen.

No one here said anything about an update or your device needing it.
FYI, you are not addressing Apple here, we are all users like yourself.
If the device is in recovery mode, the only option is to restore it. All data on the device is gone. This should not be an issue if the device has been used as designed and regularly synced/backed up.

I hooked my ipod classic up to my mac to update it. It took for ever to detect. Than I got a message saying an error was detected that I should restore. I did. It than erased my ipod. than it synched up to itunes it said it was done and it was ok to disconnect so I did and my ipod is still blank... it said error 1433 was detected. Put it in DFU mode (Google it), and Restore it as new in iTunes.

My ipod touch newest model will not charge, turn on, reset, or do anything and it is not recognized when i plug it in to my usb 2.0 and turn on itunes (by itunes or my computer.)
