My ipod freezes when i goto play music or any apps with music any answers for this one?
ever since update 4.2.1 my ipod has not played music or videos and when i try to play either music or videos it freezes, help me......
Try:
- Resetting the iPOd. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restoring the iPod from backup
- Restoring the iPod to facttory defaults/new iPod.

I just got a new 8Gb nano 4th gen and ive had no trouble except for playing movies. I uploaded my movies and they have the correct format. they all play the first time but then when i try to play them a second time the screen goes black and the ipod freezes. I dont know what to do!

Ipod nano 5th generation freezes when trying to play a song or video
Within the last couple of day my ipod nano 5th generation started freezing whenever i tryed to play a song. Oly way i could turn it off was by resetting it, however it did not fix the problem and still freezes whenever i try to play a song. I have even restored it to factory setting and it does the exact same thing. I don't understand why it does this, does anyone know why it freezes and won't stop? i don't have any warrenty on it and want to know if it is fixable, because it just randomly started freezing when trying to play music. If any one knows why it would be appriacted to know.
Does this happen with any song or video you play? If so, then my best guess would be a hardware issue since a restore to factory settings did not resolve it.

Why does my iPod freeze when I open my music
Every time I open the music app, the touch screen doesn't work. I downloaded the new iTunes ans synced my iPod to my computer, and it didn't fix the problem. What can I do?
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPod. -
Ipod 4th gen volume buttons not working. Volume bar not showing in music or video apps, not a speaker problem as this works fine when testing built in alarm tones???
Have you tried the standard fixes:

During sync my ipod freezes when copying angry birds app
During sync my Ipod freezes when it tyies to update the angry birds app. I cannot get past it and therefore cant finish the sync. can anyone help me?
Dry deleting the app from iTunes and redownload the app and then sync.

i freaquently go jogging with my ipod video and it freezes almost everytime i do. no matter what i do my ipod freezes when i jog with it. does anyone know how to keep it from freezing while jogging?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the iPod, jogging and other erratic movement can cause tracks to skip occasionally.

Everytime I run my IPOD freezes up. I can reset it but only while standing still. It runs fine after being reset until I start running again. I have tried with and without hold on but it doesn't seem to matter. I have already had to have my IPOD reformatted by Apple once. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do to prevent this. Supposedly the IPOD was fine for running.
My iPod freezes when I run too. Since the original iPod I was usuing lasted 18 months, even in Iraq, I decided that it was normal wear and tear so I purchased a new iPod. However, this new iPod didn't even make it a 1/2 mile before it froze. I reset it twice and it froze again each time. This is really disappointing and I cannot beleive that Apple does not do anything about this. I can't even get a support tech to talk to me. I have contact the state's attorney general's office to see if there are any other complaints. They stated that a class action lawsuit can be a poosibility if enough people join together.
I was very happy with the iPod and even solicted other users but this to me is unacceptable. Apple should advertise that the iPod can not handle a simple task as running. They obviously know about this problem but refuse to acknowledge it b/c of the potential to lose so much business as everyone using an MP3 player to run with. -
My ipod nano, when it enters standby mode, pause the reproduction of music, how do I solve this problem?
This is usually an indication that your headphones are not plugged ALL the way in. The white part of the headset should be flush with the body of the Nano and no silver from the headphone plug should still be seen.

itunes has sent a lot of my music into iCloud. I have not asked for this. I can't log on to icloud, since I only have an ipod. How do I get my music back? It seems to have disappeared from my computer.
I have read the the advice you gave, and I had already tried that. It did not help.
When I tried to download an album with nine songs, (I have paid for the complete album), two songs were missing. One of them has showed up/disappeared a couple of times, but with a cloud/arrow-symbol next to it, what I thought to be a symbol for downloading from the cloud. When I click it, it starts a downloading process, and then I am told it cannot be done, "please try again later". The other song is nowhere to be seen. The song with the cloud/arrow-symbol, I bought 3 times, once with the album, twice just the song. That didn't change matters. iTunes tells me I have downoladed all songs I have purchased.
I do not really understand why you do not understand what I am writing, I only describe what happens when I use iTunes.
If a person want to use iCloud, one needs an iPhone, iPad or an iPod Touch. That information is not given until you have downloaded and installed the iCloud program. That is why I have it on my computer, but cannot use it. To set up an iClod account, you have to connect one of the above mentioned devices. I don't have one, so I cannot do it.
If you want the (13013) problem explained, I suggest you google it. I am not the only one to have that problem.
I am thankful that you spend time on trying to help me, but I cannot explain things clearer than this. -
I rented movies on my iPad, they all downloaded, but when I click 'play' it says 'The requested URL was not found on this server'. What does it mean and how can I restore my rented movies?

I can't seem to get my iPod touch (4th Gen) to play photo slideshows or videos through my TV. Is this a design flaw? Or is it me? My old iPod used to do it no problem, but now I can't even find any video out options in the settings.
