Forzen Ipod, resets don't work

So I clicked a song last night and my ipod forze. I did the reset and it went to that little gray apple and froze there. It has been there since. Resets don't work. Connecting it to the computer won't work, I can't do anything. Now when I reset it, it comes up with a sad ipod, an exclamation point and the address www.apple.com/support/ipod, and I can't figure out where to begin to find info there. What is going on and what can I do to fix it?

If that works, connect it to the computer. If you can get iTunes to recognize it, you should probably do a Restore (in iTunes) to erase the iPod and initialize the iPod's software. Then, resync the iPod to your iTunes library.

Brand New Ipod Shuffle 4th Gen Buttons Don't Work?

I just bought my mum an Ipod Shuffle 4th Gen for Mother's day. I just set it up on the computer, ripped some of her CDs onto iTunes, let the iPod charge a little and synced it up with her songs.
Turned it on, music started - then I pressed the 'next song button'. Nothing happened. Held it for a while to see if it would fast forward. Nope! Tried skip back, tried volume increase/decrease... none of them work. It's only the buttons in the white circle that don't work, everything else seems to be fine. I tried holding the play button to see if the buttons had been locked, but whenever I lock/unlock the buttons it always flashes orange as if they're permanently locked.
I reset the iPod - no luck there. I then went into iTunes and did a factory restore - but the problem persists. We don't have an iTunes store anywhere near us (I'd have just popped in there with it) and I really don't want to have to go down the route of sending it off for a replacement/refund if possible, as this is a gift and I expected it to work out of the box. Is there anything I might be missing, any hints or tips, or does this definitely seem like a hardware issue? At the moment I'm just letting it charge fully before I try again, though I'm not sure that will help.

i haven't backed up any of the files on my ipod (stupid, i know) and now my ipod has frozen.
it seems that the only way to "unfreeze" it is to reset it, and i really don't want to do that, seeing that none of my songs will be on the ipod anymore.
i was just wanting some advice on what to do.
and information about resetting.

do a reset.. PUSH AND HOLD the menu button and the middle button at the sae time for 10 seconds..
THIS WILL NOT ERASE YOUR IPOD..
A restore will erase your ipod NOT a rest.

5thGen iPod Frozen----Unable to Reset

My 5th gen 120 GB iPod had frozen completely. Attempted to reset following the instructions and have no response. Can't turn it off, niether iTunes or computer detects it. Frozen on the playlist screen and the speaker icon is there but no sound. This has never happened and I am stumped!

By a reset, I'm assuming you mean, toggling the hold switch On and Off, then press and holding the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears correct? If so, try a couple more times.
If still no luck, your only option at this point is to let the iPod's battery drain. Then hook it up to a power source and let it charge long enough to get enough juice to fully power on as well as be recognized by iTunes, where I would recommend performing a *restore of it.

Ipod frozen and wont reset or come up when plugged into computer

My Ipod randomly froze, and it is stuck in this weird screen with light green, yellow, pink, and white stripes... I've tried holding the top button nothing happened, I've holding the menu button and top button nothing happened, and I've tried plugging it into my computer and it did not register in Itunes. I have had this Ipod for two years and never once have I ever dropped it or gotten it wet. It is a Ipod touch 4th G.

- Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the article again.
- If still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Ipod and external Hard drive don't work together

I got a dell optiplex gx260 which has 6 2.0 USB ports. My IPod (80GB classinc) library is stored on external HDD. When I connect my HDD to the comp and point iTunes to the HDD library everything is good and I see my songs. As soon as I connect iPod it shows up “unknown device” in a device manager. If I disconnect HDD and connect iPod only windows finds it OK, but as soon as I plug HDD back in iPod disappears. I’ve tried reinstalling sys and inf files, pointing towards updated drivers and all nothing still the same thing, tried every port and every combination on the computer USB ports still the same thing iPod and HDD don’t want to work together. Please advice, thanks.

I got the same problem here but not just with IPod. When I power up my external disk (with aux power supply) my usb stick (or IPod or printer or scanner or other devices) on other ports get disconnected. All devices did work toghether some months ago.
I think this is related to a hardware problem. Things began to fail, when I tried to co-supply 5V to a device connected to my usb bus. I possibly toasted some logic on the motherbord.
Testing your hardware on a second system may help you. Or have a look if a USB stick instead of IPod gets disconnected too. This may prove that its not IPod related.

Aiport Express dead? Yellow light one, reset doesn't work...

My Airport Express stopped working a few days ago. I just shows a constant yellow light, resets (incl factory reset) don't work and I can't see it with Airport Utility.
Any ideas?

If you have tried the factory default reset several times and continue to see a constant amber light, the Express has likely experienced an internal electrical component failure and will need to be replaced.

IPod frozen, nothing resetting it will make it work.

Well i've done all I can using the troubleshoot and things. Such as clicking hold a bunch of times, holding menu and play together, and even restoring my iPod to the original settings. Well none work. For the restoring, it doesn't restore, doesn't do anything, so I disconnect it then it says restoring, then it says could not restore because I disconnected it.
Also it basically just says I have a corruption in my iPod. either way its staying frozen :[ halp!

You need to reset your iPod by holding down Menu+Select for 6-10 seconds. See this for more information...

If you're iPod is frozen, it probably won't be recognized by your computer at all, which makes it strange that iTunes is recognizing the iPod. Does the iPod switch to "Do Not Disconnect" on the screen after you connect it?
If your iPod remains frozen, you may need to let the battery die.

Ipod nano, just synced for the 1st time, frozen, how to reset???

my new ipod nano (not sure which gen, just the very small square with only vol and on/off button), has frozen on a playing screen and wont connect to the computer or play or turn off or do anything??? how am i meant to reset it??

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

2) Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Ipod not recognized, frozen, the 5 R's don't work

I actualized some playlist with ephpod and then the ipod ended jammed, i reseted it and the it got caught in a loop of screen only sowing th eapple icon. It won't be recognized by none of the pcs i've tried it and well i don't know if i have to send it to repair.
