My iPod gives me a black screen or resets! HELP PLEASE!

I have 7 days to return/exchange my iPod but I wanted to know if I can solve it first, so please help!
When I watch videos it gets to a certain part(always changes) and automatically resets. Sometimes I skip ahead or behind a video and the screen goes black and I have to reset the iPod, but it always does that! And sometimes when I play iPod Games from the iTunes store the iPod freezes and I have to reset it!
Is this problem able to fix or is my iPod defective?
Thanks,
aaquib

I have the same problem!! when ever i skip to much of a video it restarts, its sooooooooooo anoying. and what the **** does bump mean? atleast give us some advice rather than posting that crap.

I had a similar problem on a Yoga 3 Pro and no matter what I did, it did not work. So I tried a tool that I have had other people run as a malware repair, and it fixed it right up. But I did not write down what the error was. I do not know if this will fix your problem.
The tool is called Windows Repair (All In One) If you want to give it a try, the instructions are below.
Download Portable Windows Repair (all in one) from one of the following:
    http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Tweaking.com_-_Windows_Repair_Portable_d7222.html
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/windows-repair-all-in-one-portable/
Unzip the contents into a newly created folder on your desktop. Make sure your AV protection is turned OFF before running the tool....
Open the folder, run the tool by right click on Repair_Windows (icon with red briefcase) select "Run as Administrator"
From the main GUI do the following:
Select Tab 3 and allow it to run Disk check
Select Tab 4 and allow it to run SFC
Select Tab 5 and Create System Restore Point
Select Start Repairs tab => Click the Start
The repairs window will open, uncheck the boxes as indicated, also the "Restart" option, then select Start...
DON'T use the computer while each scan is in progress.

    Solutions:
If possible and needed, back up data before troubleshooting. Methods (4) and (5) are for Power Mac desktop computers other than G5 models. The best bet is method (4) if you encounter multiple bad errors.
    1. Unplug the power cord. Disconnect all third-party hardware except Apple keyboard and mouse before you start.
    2. Do NOT re-install any third-party software/hardware until you completely solve the issue(s) and carefully investigate the compatibility with Mac OS X 10.3.x you install.
    3. If another critical error "Invalid sibling link" is detected at any phases, disconnect and reconnect all internal power cords and data cables for hard drives and any ATAPI device. To do so, you may need to read the computer's CIP Instructions in advance. Normally, you do not need to remove third-party RAMs.
    Method 1:
    (1) Start up from Mac OS X 10.3.x Panther Full Install CD or DVD.
    (2) Re-initialize and re-partition the hard drive. RECOMMENDATION: Select "Zero all data" option if "Invalid node structure" or "Keys Out of Order" error is detected.
If this method is of avail, go to Method 2 or greater.
    Method 2:
    (1) Start up in Mac OS 9.2.2 and shut down the computer.
    (2) Start up from a copy of a Disk Warrior bootable CD for Mac OS 9.2.2.
    (3) Run DW to fix the damage(s)
    Method 3:
    (1) Unplug the computer.
    (2) Find a second ATA drive and jumper it as MASTER. Jumper the hard drive in question as SLAVE. Verify the jumper pin settings.
    (3) Install Mac OS 9.2.x system on the MASTER drive, and update it to Mac OS 9.2.2.
    (4) Start up from Mac OS 9.2.2. Re-initialize and re-partition the damaged hard drive with Drive Setup using the "Zero a
    Method 4:
    (1) Find a desktop computer that has an ATA controller PCI card (SCSI environment) and has two hard drive bays. This will make your damaged drive appear as a quasi-SCSI hard drive. Mac OS 9.2.2 must be pre-installed on the computer. I recommend a host computer that installs an Ultra DMA/xxx or xxx (ATA-x) interface equal to or better than the damaged drive with backwards compatible.

  • K8T Neo FIS2R black screen...help please...

    Greets ,
In the last week , i have came back to my house and when i´m going to power on my computer he doesnt awake...
I have changed the PSU , i have now a LCPOWER 550W with 18A in the 12V rail...
When i turn on the computer i see the msi logo , the post screen with all the information , but for example if try to enter the bios the screen turns black , but the computer still runing , with all the 4 dbracket leds with the green color....after i enter on the bios , the screen turns black an the dbracket indicates Decompressing Bios to ram...
If i don´t enter in the bios , whe goes to the menu to choose the OS , and once again the screen turns black and the computer still run...always with the 4 leds green...
The only problem is that i cant go to dos and flash another bios on it , and when i try to use the F10 Flash Recovery the screen goes off again...
    Someone can help me ?
PS : I have all the components off the case to prevent magnetic problems...
    Sorry for the bad english
EDIT : I have tried with 2 diferente AGP cards , one AGP4x and another 8X , and now i´m with a PCI 3dfx card...

"when I enter in the bios I only have 3seconds with image on the sreen. after that the screen goes black but I can continue to move in the bios menu , but without image."
??? how can screen to goes black, but you can move in the bios menu?! you should see anythink ?! what you mean you can move into bios menu but without image? don't rush with BIOS update. don't think its BIOS related.(you have used this bios for a long time without this problem right?) make better explanation what exactly happend.
check monitor cables, ensure its filled well, try with other monitor too (may your monitor is damaged by some way). or PSU failure. test with other PSU.
are this happend only in BIOS menu? can you boot into OS and work normal?
I know that the computer stills runing even when the screen goes black , because in bios menu i go to the save and exit , press enter 2 times and the computer restarts ( the normal thing ) . Also when i boot up the pc with a DOS CD-ROM boot disk , when i put b:\ it searches for the floopy. All this things without image on the screen...
Yes , i have this mobo about 2 years , and this bios always work without problem...
I will try with another monitor , but the actual monitor doesnt seems to be damaged...
The PSU it´s new , an LCPower with 18A in 12V , in fact all this problem have appeared because my old lcpower (the same model of my new psu , RMA gave me one new PSU) have been murdered , and i dont know why , i left home in the morning , e turn off the computer and switch off the PSU button , and when i come back to home , o switch on the button and the computer doesn´t start... and here we are...
    Thanks for the reply´s

  • I am going to sell my second generation ipod touch, so i resetted it to factory defaults. It said it would take up to an hour, and i patiently waited. But when the black and white loading bar completed, the ipod went to the black screen with an apple logo

I am going to sell my second generation ipod touch, so i resetted it to factory defaults. It said it would take up to an hour, and i patiently waited. But when the black and white loading bar completed, the ipod went to the black screen with an apple logo on it. Sounds about right, right? But now, there is a processing circle on top of the logo, but the circle spins once, and stops at about halfway to the bottom. It just stays there, and about every half to one hour it becomes a white screen and starts all over again. (not the loading bar part, just the circle). I've tried holding the power and the home button, and it works, but it just goes back to the circle screen with the apple logo. HELP PLEASE?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Try a reset. Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the screen goes dark for a moment, then the Apple boot logo should reappear. If it doesn't work, it's broken, take it to the Apple store or another authorized repair service.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste (command-V) into the text box that opens, then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
I've seen an unconfirmed report that the "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you might need to remove it as well, if applicable.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Ipod touch 2G is black screen and won't restore in Itunes (error 21)

I have aquired an Ipod touch 2g 16g that I was hoping to make a present to my daughter with.  The device is I guess what is called "Black Screen of Death".  I can't get any image to display on the Ipod when trying to charge (which it apparenlty accepts) the item or when trying to connect it to Itunes.  Itunes recongizes the item in recovery mode, and attempts to restore the item and consistantly gives the error 21 message.  I am using Windows 7 and have tried to restore the device on a laptop running Win XP with the exact same results.  The screen will turn white during the process, and the machine will from what I have read and believe go into DFU mode, but it stops with error 21.  I am a Noob and have googled and googled for a week now with no luck.  I have tried the reinstallation of Itunes, all the updates to both Itunes and the machine, no security software, the works.  I tried connecting it to older son's laptop running Win 7 which he uses for his Ipod 2g 32 gig without problems.  My device was recognized on his machine, and he said on his Itunes he briefly saw songs on the device he did not have on his machine/device in his library before it hung again in the recovery mode loop.  I have read different articles and tutorials on jailbreaking and tried loading just the 'oem" firmware from apple with Redsnow and thought i was successful.  The device went through the process of white screen, several boots/dings of on my PC, and then an image appeared on the Ipod of "loading Jailbreak data".  After a few moments/minutes it then began what I believe is displaying the "verbose" booting running the lines of text on the screen.  I then notice it to stop and give me an error of something to the affect of init failed, and then a "lan error, watchdog timeout, giving up, a long pause, then quick scrolls down the screen and reboot back to white screen.  Holding the power button or home/power button puts it right back to a black screen and in the Itunes recovery mode loop/error 21 again.  Can anyone please help me resolve this issue before I pull what's left of my hair out.  I would love to get this working for my daughter before her birthday.  Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

Common, no one has any ideas?  Well, don't know if this will help, but here's some new data to process.  I noticed that when I was trying to load the firmware with Redsnow w/o installing any options to include Cydia I got errors displayed on the Ipod such as WMR NAND format invalid; NANDLegacyFTL failed.  Someone has got to know something.  I would appreciate any ideas or thoughts from anyone with any idea.  Thanks

  • Ipod Touch 5th Gen Black Screen - device inop

My daughter has an Ipod Touch 5th generation she received fro christmas in 2013. Yesterday she came home from school to find the screen black and the device non-responsive. Pressing or hold the power or volume buttons gives us no result. One thing we noticed right away was that the home button appeared not to work. When pressing down and releasing there is no click or apparent movement in the button. I do not know if this is normal, but from my searching it appears not to be. When attached to the computer, Itunes does not recognize the device. It sees no device at all.  This Ipod stays in an Otterbox Defender case at all times.
    My solution attempts:
    1) Charge Ipod to ensure battery is not dead.
    2) Attempting to clean the home button with isopropyl alchol. The ipod was held in an upright position the entire time to facilitate drainage and prevent the alcohol from getting under the screen.
    3) Attach ipod to computer to see if Itunes found device.
    4) Hard reset by holding power button and home button for over 10 seconds.
    Questions:
    1) Is home button supposed to click or move up and down?
    2) Is the black screen/non-response related?
    3) If 2 is correct, how do I go about fixing said button?
    4) What is the warranty on these? I cannot give you more information other that Dec 2013 it was received by daughter and model number on back is A1421.
I have no idea what version of OS it has on it.

With the serial number you can check warranty coverage here.
