My ipod goes from the apple screen to a folder with an exclaimation point??

MY ipod turns on to the screen with the apple and then makes some clicking noises and goes to a screen with a folder and an exclaimation point and then turns off!!! HELP?! How do I get my ipod to turn on!?!? I have tried restarting it already...

Try the troubleshooting steps set out on this page: "iPod shows a folder icon with exclamation point when you turn it on" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61003
If they don't work and it continues to make strange noises then return it as it is probably a more serious fault than you can fix youirself

Please help me out as this is very irritating. This has been happening for the last 20-30 minutes. It had roughly half battery left.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

i did a factory reset on my ipod touch but now when i try turning it on it just goes to the apple screen with a loading sign, ive let my battery die and tried reconnecting but it still wont work. it doesnt even come up on itunes.

Why won't it let you sync?  What happens when you try to sync it? Any error messages from iTunes?  How is your iPod configured to sync music from your iTunes library?  In other words, what options do you have selected from under the iPod's Music tab in iTunes?  To access this tab, plug your iPod in, select it under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes, and over to the right locate and select the Music tab along the top.
Or are you trying to manually manage your iPod's contents?  In other words, is the Manually manage music and videos option enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab?

  • My ipod only goes to the apple screen and freezes then turns off after about a minute. Is this fixable?

My ipod only goes to the apple screen and freezes then turns off after about a minute. Is this fixable?

Try a system reset.  It's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • My iPad won't turn off. It won't turn on either. It keeps going from the apple to a black screen. What can I do?

I can't get it to turn off. It just keeps going back and forth from the apple to the blank screen.

You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode. You use this method when the iPad is not being recognized in iTunes. This will totally erase the device, but if you restore on the computer that you normally sync with, you can restore from your backup when you are done - but only if you have a backup.
You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
Or you can follow these Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • Ipod stuck on the apple screen

Can someone help me. My Ipod seems to get stuck on the apple screen and keeps restarting. Also the last time i used it i was not able to do horizontal on the web browser to be web contents. Plz help me

    Hello, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Have you attempted to allow the iPod Touch to completely drain it's battery. Then connect it and charge it? If so does it continue to keep restarting?
Also you may wish to see if you can put the iPod Touch into recovery mode as well as see if you can perform a reset on it.

hook it up to your computer then try to put the device into DFU Mode by holding down the power button for 5 seconds, without releasing the power button hold down the home button for 10 seconds, release the power button but don't release the home button for 15 seconds. once it is in DFU mode click iPod touch then click restore

  • Booting from the disk...Flashing folder with a ? mark

I just used my Macbook Pro yesterday with no issues but today when I turned it on I got the Flashing folder with a question mark on it. I did search the forums and found out what it meant. I have tried a number of things to get my MBP to boot up and nothing is working so far. I was wondering if I should try to insert the disk that came with my laptop to see if that will work. I have an older MBP still running Leopard.

    DVX100Shooter,
boot your MacBook Pro from its grey Mac OS X Install DVD by holding down the C key as it starts up. When the desktop appears, select Utilities from the menu bar, and from there run Disk Utility. On the left-hand side of the Disk Utility window, select your internal disk’s boot partition (typically called “Macintosh HD”). On the right-hand side, press the Verify Disk button if it’s not greyed out; if it is greyed out, or if it reports that errors were found, press the Repair Disk button. Once the verification/repair is completed, exit Disk Utility and select Restart from the Apple menu to restart in normal mode. Does it let you get to your login screen now?

  • My screen goes from the apple icon to battery charge warning. Can't get it off.

Can anybody help??? My screen flashes from the red battery charge icon to the apple icon, and I can't get it off. I have tried pressing the off switch and the button at the bottom at the same time, and I have tried pushing the off switch and the volume up button at the same time. Neither works. Thanks for ANY help!

Did you do the Reset properly? [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank. Be patient, the device will power ON again in the normal way. It is app and data safe!]
