My iPod has 7000 songs on it at present, however I have empt. If I were to attach my ipod and open itunes will it delete all my songs on my iPod or will it save them to Itunes my iTunes folder
I have an iPod classic with 7000 songs in it. I have emptied my iTunes folder and if I attach my iPod to sync, will I lose all my songs on it or will iYunes save them?
Yes. Syncing can thought of a mirroring process where your iPod is updated by iTunes to mirror what is stored in your iTunes library.
So the next time you sync your iPod, everything will be erased.
If you want to copy contents from the iPod to your PC, see this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you with this task.

Thanks in advance,
Joe
40 GiG Windows XP ProUse a program like yamipod (from yamipod.com) to take the songs and playlists back to iTunes on the computer. Best part is that yamipod is free.

when i connect my iphone to my laptop and open itunes it shows my iphone has nothing on it(no music, no movies, etc...) then when i try to sync it says iphone is is full and can only put in a selected amount of songs. Take in mind this is my first time to sync with this laptop(HP 15 ENVY) and as well my laptop is just brand new. just got it a week ago. so how do i fix this prob. and also when i open my itunes store and then view my account it says error occurred either debug it through Microsoft visual studio or close program. I tired copying all the .dll files to the itunes folder didn't help
I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. When I connect my iPod nano 7th gen. to my computer and open itunes, there is a message that says the iPod could not be detected. Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job.
7. Check for third-party software conflicts. -

I have a .mac family account, a personal .mac account and separate iTunes id I use for my work iPhone and the associated apps. How do I keep them separate in the iCloud change?
Welcome to the Apple community.
Could you tell us a little more about what you want to do. Bear in mind that iTunes has nothing to do with your iCloud account. -

Did you ever sync your ipod to your computer? -
I hooked up my iPod to the computer and opened iTunes and now all my music is gone. I have greyed out areas where the music is supposed to be, but it says that I still have the same number of songs as I did before. Can I get my music back?
Grayed out whee? Computer? On iPod?
If in iPod that means the music files got corrupted and are lost.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

Ever since I updated to Yosemite my mac book pro keeps asking for Apple Id and password but will not accept them. What can I do?
Try the advice here. I had the same problem and it worked for me.
You have to delete the "SC Info" folder from /Users/Shared. You will have to use Terminal to enable you to see this folder first. Make sure iTunes is not running when you delete the "SC Info" folder
There is an article from Apple on this here. The "SC Info" folder contains iTunes authorization information.
I did this two weeks ago and iTunes accepted by login. I haven't been asked for my AppleID or password since. -
Hi All,
I have had to reset my laptop to factory settings and reinstall iTunes. I backed up all my songs and apps and have now put all songs back in to iTunes. However, now i cannot drag songs or apps from my iTunes to my iPhone.
It only gives me the 'no entry' style icon when i drag it across rather than the 'plus' icon to add items to the iPhone.
Any ideas how to get round this or will i have to clear the phone and start again?
Any help would be very appreciated.See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Why i cant import back my photo video after export to pc?it will state cant sync and open itunes.
Hey Bakak,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you keep getting a message to authorize your computer when trying to transfer applications to your iPhone. Here is an article on things that may cause this. I suspect that the section "Authorize using the correct account name" may be most relevant. It is possible that you have multiple Apple IDs and iTunes accounts.
