My iPod has a blue screen and won't respond to anything. Help?

My iPod touch just stopped working after I tried to retweet something on my Twitter app, and the entire screen turned blue. Now it won't turn off or respond to being plugged into the computer. My home button has been stuck in for a couple months, so I'm not able to hold down the home button and the sleep/wake button. Any advice?

- Try as yuo can with the bad Home button
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode, use this program instead:
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
- If not successful, let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try the article again.
- If still problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod has a blank screen and won't do anything?

I took out my iPod 5th gen to check the time and it was fine. Then I took it out 5 minutes later and it had a black screen so i clicked the home button. Nothing happened. I've tried the power button, the home button, holding down the power button, and plugging it into a charger and nothing has helped. It's still on a black screen and won't respond to anything I do. What should I do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer

  • My iPod touch has a blank screen and won't turn on. Help?

It went blank and I've tried to restart it (pressing the home and screen buttons) but that won't work either. I've connected it to a computer but the computer doesn't recognise it. It's been an hour and it still won't work. I even tried connecting it to the portable speaker which also charge and it won't do anyhting with that eiher.
also I'm not sure which operatine system it is. iSO something. he most recent one you can get on an iPod touch.

1; Do a hard rest by holding the buttons at least 15 seconds. Does the Apple logo come on?
    2. Hold the power button down for at least 5 seconds. Do you see the battery symbol?
If the answer is no to both questions, you most likely have a hardware issue--possible bad battery.

  • My ipod has an odd screen and won't do anything, I've tried restoring it but nothing has worked. What can I do?

So my Ipod classic starting acting oddly when I docked it recently. I took it off my docking station, which I'd used many times before and have no issues with, and the symbol for "docked" was still hovering over the battery. I didn't think anything of it until I came to dock my Ipod with my laptop and it said that it had to be restored before I could use it again. I restored it but this practically blank screen came up and just keeps flashing "Do not disconnect" and nothing else. What can I do?
    Please help
    Thank You

  • My iPad Mini has a black screen and does not respond to anything.

I got my iPad Mini 6 days ago, and this morning I woke up to it overheating (to a point which any contact with it, or the case) was painful. Along with this overheating, the screen was and still is black. The iPad is not responding when I try to turn it on, off, hard reset it, etc.. It has not been taken off charge in approximately 6 hours, so I highly doubt lack of battery is a reason.
HElp, please. And thank you in advance.

Time to make an appointment with Apple.

  • Ipod is frozen on song and won't respond to anything, what should I do?

I have tried resetting and it is still frozen. I can't restore, because neither Itunes nor my computer will recognize it.

You may need to let your iPod's battery run down fully. Then, after it is completely dead, let it recharge through a poewr source for 3 hours.
Also, before you get into that, you could try this:
1 - Connect your iPod to your computer.
2 - Now begin to rapidly toggle the "Hold" switch back and forth while your iPod is connected.
3 - After you've done that for a little while (for perhaps 15-20 seconds), eject the iPod if needed, then disconnect it from your computer.

    Hi Linda Loo Loo,
If you have backed up previously to iTunes on a specific computer, even if it has been a while, you may be able to still backup even if you are unable enter the passcode on your iPhone due to a damaged screen. You may find the following article helpful:
If you have previously synced your device with iTunes, you may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device:
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If the device is still disabled, or if iTunes does not automatically sync your device, sync the device with iTunes.
When the backup and sync is complete, restore your device.
When iOS Setup Assistant asks to set up your device, choose "Restore from iTunes backup".
Select your device in iTunes and choose the most recent backup of your device.

  • My husband(less technologically inclined than I am), decided to delete programs from our iMac, now it has a grey screen and won't get past it. If I insert the Application Install DVD, to repair the disk, will I loose all my pictures and music?

It won't start in safe mode and when I  If I insert the Application Install DVD, to repair the disk, will I loose all my pictures and music?

With a corrupt disk, the install procedure is most likely going to fail.
    How old it the disk?
You might be able to reformat it to fix the problem. Of course that means you lose all of your data.
The other alternative is to get a new disk drive and put that in your Mac and install OS X
Then put the old disk drive in an enclosure and see what can be recovered from it.

  • My ipad has a black screen and won't start, any ideas?

My Ipad 1 has a black screen and won't start, any ideas?  It is charged.

If Paul's advice doesn't work try this.
Hold down on the sleep button AND the home button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart.
BTW ...In order to start up under normal circumstances you only need to hold down on the sleep button for a couple of seconds or so until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
