My ipod has a message telling me that my ipod is disable and to connect to itunes. I've done that and nothing has happened. What else can I do?
I"m trying to get my son ipod touch unliocked. It has a message going across the screen telling me that my ipod is disable and needs to be connected to itunes. I've done that and I still can't get it to work. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks for the question. The following article provides some solutions if you are having issues with passcode lock:

If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
5. iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device.

i am having problems with my new ipad that i got for Christmas today, i don't get free wi-fi at my home and it said if the wi-fi is not available, connect to itunes. i have done that and it didnt help me. mind helping me out?
Further info - I changed my security settings to allow apps from anywhere, and again tried to install. I again got an error message
that the update failed to install, and to contact Customer Support. -

How do you restore a disabled itouch if you do not have access to. Your home computer .
You have to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore via iTunes. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
Since the other computer will not have a your iPod backup, you will have to restore to factory defaults/new iPod. You iPod will be empty of contacts, calender, apps, music and other item you added to the iPOd. -

My phone keeps shutting off and saying "connect to iTunes." I've updated my 2007 MacBook to 10.6.8, and now my iPhone 3 (used as iPod) and iPhone 4 aren't recognized to be synced anymore or I get an error message telling me to update my phone to 11.1 or something. When I do that is appears to update and when finished nothing appears to have updated.
It is possible one of the 10.6.8 updates may help:
Combo v1.1 (7/25/2011), 10.6.8 2013 Security Update 004, 2013-005 Java update.
