My iPod has seemed to crash and I need help/answers
Hello,
I purchased my iPod Touch 4th Gen about two months ago through Best Buy. As of today I was on it and it was working fine, after about a thirty monute period I went to check it and it would not unlock by pressing the lock or home button. I tried plugging it in to my laptop and it wouldn't even connect there.. I've tried everything I can possibly think of and have exhausted the past 4 hours trying to figure out what it could possibly be. I've combed through a few of the posts on here and it appears to be showing signs that it crashed but I want to be positive because just yesterday my phone screen cracked so now I need to replace that nad if my iPod is dead I'm going to kill two birds with one stone and go for the iPhone via Version. Any help is greatly appreciated and is desparately requested.

What have you tried?
- Did you reset the iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Did you try placing the iPod in recovery mode and restoring it. For recovery mode see:

HELP!! my computer crashed and i need help.
my computer crashed about a month ago (on about the 12th of june 2008) and i had to buy another hardrive and absolutely nothing was saved. i lost every thing on it, including my entire itunes library. i have 181 songs and one 37 minuet video on my 80g ipod classic and i want to put some more songs on it. the trouble is when ever i try to sync the computer and the ipod, a box comes up saying that an ipod can only be synced with one itunes library and the only way to get the songs i want on to the ipod is to erase them all off the ipod. all the songs on my ipod are off cd's and i still have them but, i had to rename all the song once they were on the computer and it took for ever. is the only way to put the songs on my ipod to go through the process of copying all the cd's or is there another way?
Copy from iPod to PC
It is important not to allow your iPod to sync with an empty library. If it is set to synchronise automatically you will get a message saying your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to sync – it is important to press cancel as syncing with an empty library erases all music from your iPod.
You can also prevent auto sync by holding down shift & ctrl as you plug in your iPod and keeping the keys held down until the iPod appears in iTunes.
Once you are connected, you need to set your iPod to manage music manually.

If you have an iPod with iTunes Store purchases on it, you can use it to copy your purchases to other authorized computers.

Please help! - My computer crashed and I need help reinstalling my CS3 software
Please help! My computer crashed and now I am trying to reistall my CS3 software. I'm receiving Unable to Install errors for all of the programs in the Suite except the Acrobat 8 Professional. Can someone please help me? I cannot afford to upgrade, but need this software to do freelance work. I own the software and serial number but Adobe will not support me as it is an older version.
I downloaded and ran the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. It showed no files to remove, but still said it was successful. I then tried reinstalling the entire suite. Acrobat 8 Professional was the only program that installed. All other programs gave me a componant failed error. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated?!

FREQUENT Browser Crashes and Hangs, NEED HELP
Hi! This is my first post to this forum and I don't know all the lingo, so please be patient with me...
The last few weeks or so I have been experiencing very frequent (sometimes every few minutes) crashes, with occasional hangs as well. This is happening on Safari, Firefox, and also on Camino, which I had installed because I could think of no other solution. I thought it was related to Flash, because around that time I updated to the newest version of it, but the crashes are happening no matter where I go - craigslist, email, Yahoo News... everywhere.
I'm at my wits end. If anyone can think of a solution, I would be eternally grateful. So far I have downgraded to Flash 9, and I have done the Mac OS X Update Combo. The crashes do seem to subside when I don't have Flash installed at all, but I have a hard time understanding how this can be so when the crashes are happening on sites without Flash (like craigs).

My Mac crashed and I need help... Seriously!
I have had this problem in the past and I am very lucky that I got it running. My Mac freezes which causes me to hold the power button to shut it down manually. When I go to restart it, it stays on the gray screen with the spinning wheel. I have held the Shift key to make it into safe mode and sometimes it works and I can have partial access to my computer. Other times when I do that it does nothing. As of right now, I managed to get it into some sort of mode and it is showing my background and the rainbow wheel [which is supposed to be my cursor]. I have gone into Single-user mode (Command-S) and Verbose Mode (Command-V). Each time I go into Single-User mode it always stops at ":/ root#" and I have no idea what to type in next. When I go into Verbose mode it says "disk0s2 media is not present." many times.
The first time it happened to me I had no idea what to do and did not think about searching on the Internet for answers. It then led me to drive about 1 and 1/2 hours to the nearest Apple store to get it fixed. Since Apple fixed it, I lost EVERYTHING and it was in the middle of the school year (perfect timing... not). The second time it happened I managed to get it working and I haven't had any problems until now.
I want someone to help me get it into safe mode or normal mode without me losing everything. If/when I get it working, the first thing I would do is back up everything to an external hard drive (I do not have one yet). Any help is highly appreciated!

JnaydichFirst you are posting in the wrong forum, your profile indicates you have a MacBook, this is an iMac forum. Next you should NEVER NEVER NEVER shut down with the power button. If your system freezes attempt to force quit the offending application, you can force quit by using the Apple Menu or pressing Command + Option + Esc. Or you can always leave Activity Monitor running and when it freezes check AM to see if you have anything taking all your CPU, if so quit that action.
I suspect your HD has crashed, you should run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode. Make sure you run in Extended Mode! If it reports errors then you need to boot from the OS X disc that came with the computer or the latest retail OS X disc you have and run Disk Utilities - Repair Disk. If it finds errors run it over again until it reports no errors. After 4-5 runs of Repair Disk it still reports errors you need to replace the HD.
If you want to try to Boot to Safe Mode the instructions are in Safe Mode.

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

All of my apps on my new ipad2 are not working. I had this iPad about 4 months and nothing bad has happened before this. I need help on how to make my apps stop crashing. Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPodin recovery mode use this prgram.
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
