My iPod is Broken- Please Help me!

Hi, I have had my ipod for a little over three months, and my screen just recently looks like it has fluid or something on it, its black and it wont do anything except turn off and on- please help me!

I have taken the liberty of looking over Apple's iPod warranty, and Apple has not made an exclusion to the screen. Carl wolf is wrong in that sense. Print a copy of iPod warranty from Apple's iPod support site, call a representative (you'd have to pay for that since you're out of your 90 days of complimentary support) or just do a Web service request. If an Apple representative tries to tell you that they don't repair screens, politely tell the person that there is no place on the iPod warranty statement that says such a thing, and that is a binding statement. If they still disagree, then simply ask to speak to a supervisor or higher up person and repeat steps above. If this fails to work for you, contact the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and file a complaint against Apple. Be sure to do this all in a polite manner, because use of anger is never helpful. I suggest getting AppleCare for the iPod, which is only like $60 and gets you phone support for 2 years from iPod purchase date. The key to this is not to give in. It doesn't sound like you damaged the iPod at all, it's just a defect. Apple wrote their own rules, and I don't think they're going to break them. Good luck!

    You cannot use it.  You would have had to set it up on your ipod itself before you lost it.  Since you did not "turn on the icloud", then you have not set up find my ipod.

    When you say they are displaying in your iTunes library, are you talking about the Audiobooks section of your iTunes library and not the audiobooks section indented under the iPod in the left pane of iTunes under Devices?
    Is the iPod Shuffle configured to sync audiobooks or do you manually manage the iPod's contents?

    If the charger is good, what about the cable? Try a different cable.
    Other problems might be
    1. Dirt, lint or fuzz in the connection ports. Check and carefully clean with a toothpick if debris is found.
    2. Software problem. Reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
    3. Hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

    I was charging my iPod, when the plug just fell out of the socket, so I guessed it was a little loose, so I plugged it back in to charge it, but the screen just went dark and I can't turn it back on... it's officially broken, could anybody please help me with this and tell me what I should do... thank you so much for your help.

    Have you tried holding the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons until you see the Apple logo to reset it?

    okay, i plugged my ipod video into my friends computer, and since then over half of the songs on my ipod won't work! in itunes, they have a little exclamation point next to them, and on my ipod, when i try to listen to most of the songs it just skips through the songs until it finds one that works. what can i do to make them work again?? i would prefer not to have to start all over and take all the music off my ipod, because most of the songs in my library has a little exclamation point next to them also. please please help me!! i'm going crazy!

    Unfortunately, I think that is probably your only option. the "!" is stating that the link between the music and the visual title on your iPod is broken and the iPod doesn't know where it is. Did you have auto-updating on for your music when you plugged it into your friends computer? And how did you remove it from the computer? If the iPod was still updating when you removed it, that could have caused it.

    I have had my iPodTouch for just over a year now. It has always worked perfectly and I have had no problems. Up until now. I plugged it into my origonial computor that i set up my account on and it said there was an error and i needed to restore my ipod off of itunes. I did that and now it refuses to sync any of my music, apps, or movies in my library. It says my computor doesnt have autorization??? I dont know what that means> will somebody please help me.   • IPod Mini Problems Please Help

    This is my second post of the type... no one replied to that so im hoping someone could help me.
    Problems:
    -Wont Update or Load Songs
    -It starts loading, gets to around the 5th song (out of well over 600) and says "Ipod Update Complete, OK To Disconnect" though nothing is on the iPod.
    -Occasionally wont restore to factory settings.
    Okay, before you suggest the five R's, ill note that ive put several MONTHS into this, and ive tried them well over 20 times in order.
    Things Tried
    -5 R's Repeatedly (as noted above)
    -updating on a friends computer (several times with no luck, same problems)
    -requested help over the phone
    -The number i called was the Apple US Help Line, which the person helped me for about an hour before he said he did not know what was up, and transfered me to the Canadian help line, where they demanded a large sum for help, which i could not pay (under 18).
    -When i first noticed the problems, I sent it in (around the end of december)and problems continued upon arrival of the new mini.
    I will also note that my sisters iPod Nano works perfectly fine, no problems, as well as my friends iPods adding songs from my computer.
    Please please help... im currently resorting to a crappy CD player that skips for my music... and have been... its starting to break me inside.

    If you have your iPod set to transfer your music manually, then that “do not disconnect” message will continue to be displayed on your iPod until you manually eject it.
    You can do this by clicking on the little eject icon next to the iPod listing in the source window of iTunes, or right click on it and select “eject”. Another way would be to use the “safely remove hardware” icon in the system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on this then select your iPod. Or through Windows, select start/my computer, right click on the iPod, select eject.
    If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked “enable disk use”, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.
    For the iPod to automatically open iTunes, you have to have "open iTunes when this iPod is attached" checked.
    Go to edit/preferences/iPod to do this.
    If you prefer to keep the iPod set to manual transfer, look at this. In fact, the whole tutorial is a must read.
