My ipod is broken. The home button doesn't work, so I took it to a tech shop and they also said that the LCD cable was broken and my screen is cracked. Will apple fix my ipod or just replace it?
I would like to know if apple will replace it. If not, then I will take somewhere cheaper but it has some scratches so I would like to get a new one.
The home button doesn't work, the LCD cable is broken and the screen is cracked! Wow. That's the worst case of abuse that I've seen. I think that Apple will laugh at you.

Has the home button worked in the past, or is this been something that hasn't worked for some time? The only way to reset the device is with the sleep/wake (power) and home buttons together. Without it, you would have to wait until the battery dies and then plug it in to try and reset it. The Home button is used for several user troubleshooting steps. Without it, you cannot perform a reset, put the device into recovery mode, or place it in DFU mode. You need to get the home button repaired.

I would place the iPhone in a big bowl of white rice, rather than in a baggie. That's what my brother did with his iPod touch that got wet, and it fixed it. The iPod touch works perfectly fine now, and the bowl is better because while the rice soaks up any wetness or condensation, the openness of the bowl gives way for evaporation.
A good idea would also be to take out your SIM card, if at all possible. Put it back in when you're ready. -

If it never worked after the screen replacement then it would appear that you have a hardware problem either caused by the repair or the problem that lead to the screen replacement.

Calibrate the Home button
1. Open a pre-installed app, such as Contacts
2. Press and hold the sleep/wake button until the red slider appears
3. Immediately release the sleep/wake button; press and hold the Home button.
4. Hold until the red slider disappears. -
Everything works on the iPod nano except the home button. I have to plug it in to get it to wake up and then just wait till it fall a sleeps again. Can I do anything to fix this?

Has the home button been over used? If so, it might've worn out. in that case, go to SETTINGS and follow the following steps.
GENERAL >>> scroll down >>> ACCESSIBILITY >>> ASSISTIVE TOUCH >>> turn it in.
this will act as your home button and prodive you with other options so you do not wear your buttons out.
Also, i am not sure how clicking the home button can change the landscape...
If you want to change the orientation of the ipad, yo ucan simple place four fingers on the screen (when it is turned on) and pull upwards. then yo ucan swipe right an thre will be a button that will allow yo uto lock/unlock the orientation of the ipad.

Where it says place the iPod in rcovery mode use this program

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My itouch (5th gen. 32GB) was working just fine, with a full battery. I set it down, and 15 minutes later it didn't turn on. I brought it back home to see if it needed to be charged for some reson, but it was still pitch black. I plugged it into the computer to see if anything would happen but nothing did. I know you can reboot/ restart it by holding the power and home button at the same time for a few seconds, but my home button is broken... I have no clue what to do...
