My ipod is charging and wont turn on

please help

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5 and 5C. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.

  • Ipod shut off and wont turn on or charge

i was driving in my car with my ipod 1st gen ipod nano plugged into the casset adapter and it just turned off. i came home and when i plug it into the wall or my laptop... nothing happens... help

Try Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart, usually takes 10 seconds. If still nothing, connect to Wall Charger for 10 minutes, iPhone may turn ON itself. If still nothing, keep on charger and Reset, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger.

  • My i-phone won't turn on, it went off all of a sudden even though the battery was half charged and wont turn back on, I've tried holding the home and power buttons but that hasnt worked, can anyone help?

My i-phone wont turn on and I don't know why, it went off all of a sudden even thought the battery was half charged, I've tried holding the power and home buttons to reset it but that hasnt worked, I don't know what else to try, can anyone help?

Charge it for 30 minutes with the wall charger, then hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time for up to 30 seconds. If nothing happens your phone is probably broken.

what helps is maybe holding the menu button down
while moving the hold button (on top) back and forth
like twenty times. Then mine always turns on again.
Are you talking about a reset?

  • Ipod randomly dies and wont turn on - multiple instances. why?

I am having an issue with my itouch not turning on. I have a 2nd generation and paid to upgrade to the 3.0 software a few months ago. The first occurrence was a few weeks ago. I woke up and my ipod would not turn on. Wouldn't even show the empty battery picture that usually is displayed when battery needs to be charged. I plugged it into the computer and nothing happened. I kept it plugged in while I got ready and came back to nothing, tried unplugging and plugging it in and it would not turn on at all, just a black screen. I periodically tried to turn it on while at work, but still nothing. Later in the day I plugged it into my car charger and it began to charge. It worked fine for a few weeks then happened again to me. I tried different chargers and nothing would show up on the screen. iTunes didn't recognize that the ipod was plugged in either. Eventually I got it to charge fully using my boyfriends computer and let it charge fully. It was working fine. When I got home that evening, I took it out of my purse and it was completely black again. Would not charge when plugged in. THen this morning it started to charge on my car charger. Any body know what is causing this? I've never witnessed it shut off, just haven't used it for a few hours only to find it completely dead.. doesn't seem like battery is draining quickly, just that it randomly shuts off. I've attempted holding down the power and home buttons but that does nothing.
    Has anybody heard of this?

I am pretty sure its nothing to do with which charger I use. Because my home charger that didn't charge the first time I had the issue still worked later on. And another time my car charger wouldn't charge the ipod when it was completely dead even though it had been what worked before. It's got to be something with the ipod. Not sure if its a software or wiring problem.

  • My laptop shutoff off after being fully charged and wont turn back on

I am in a foreign country and my laptop has been working fine with an adapter. Two days ago, after being fully charged, my laptop shut off and wouldn't turn back on. The battery died and I tried a friends charger to see if it was a problem with the computer or charger and the new burger worked. So I spent the money on a new charger and now the same thing has happened. After being charged it shut off and my new charger has a dim light just like what happened the first time. Any ideas?

    Hello there, ChristenC.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great steps for troubleshooting the issue you're describing:
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1367
If your computer won't turn on, try each of these steps:
Verify you have a good connection from your Mac to the wall outlet by confirming the power cord and adapter if present are securely connected and plugged in. To check if the wall outlet is working, plug in a lamp or other electrical device.
If the wall outlet is working and you continue to have no power try another power cord or adapter if available. If it works you may need a replacement cord or adapter.
Note: See Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters for further troubleshooting with MagSafe adapters.
Disconnect all accessories that are plugged in to the computer, such as a printer, hub, or other mobile device.
If your Mac supports user-installable memory, solid state drive, or hard drive, and you recently installed any of these, make sure they are installed correctly and are compatible with your computer. If possible, reinstall the original memory or drive into the computer to find out if the behavior persists afterwards.

Try the following. However, it may end up erasing the iPod since a software problem may have caused the problem.:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
