My iPod is connected to a network, but there's no internet!

So my iPod once let me connect to the internet with the current network that I have (that I've always had), and from time to time, the internet has been finicky. But usually I just restart my iPod and it comes back. But for the past four days, I haven't had internet connection! The bars are there and I'm connected to my network, but it won't let me connect to the internet! I have tried to turn wifi on and off, and even reseting the network and the router...I don't know what to do next!!! Any advice?

Take it back to the place that replaced the screen and ask them what they did. If it worked before the repair then your charging issue may be because of something they did. They have to fix it. Unless they're an apple authorized repair place, your warranty is now voided and Apple won't touch your device.
good luck

You might want to try resetting your router and your modem - just unplug the cords, leave them unplugged for about 3-5 minutes and then replug the modem and then the router in that order.
This may or may not correct your problem - call back if it doesn't.

  • Connect to wireless network but can't get internet

    Hi
First time on any sort of technical forum so please bear with me :o)
I've just received an iPad for Christmas and I CAN get connected to my wireless home network (AOL / Netgear 834g) *but I CAN'T use the Internet*. I hate to say I've been at it for hours (to embarassed to say how many!).
I've read the discussion forums, read the manuals and I'm sitting here thinking ... AM I THAT THICK... and I fear the answer is YES :o)
Normally with all my mobile devices I simply add the WEP and I'm connect but this doesn't seem that simple! For one I can't even find where this number would go.. As you can probably tell I'm not technical. I don't want to start messing about with my router settings
I was soooo delighted with my iPad and now I feel I just want to send it back (I won't of course!).
Can someone give me some "simple" to follow help / advice / assistance? or am I doomed!
I eagerly wait some help ;o)

  • Airport on Macbook Pro says connected to network but there's no Internet

I have a relatively new unibody Macbook Pro. I used to be at school where my Airport worked perfectly but now that I've set up my own router in my apartment it doesn't seem to connect properly. I'm using a Belkin N+ router and my roommate's PC works fine connected wirelessly to the router. I've reprogrammed it once but can't figure out the problem and I don't want to be connected the entire time through the ethernet cable which works as long as I disable the Airport.
    Any help would be appreciated

    what's the difference between accounts?
My guess is that there is configuration setting, specific for the AirPort, that is conflicting with the Belkin router. When you created a new user profile, it used a default configuration that was allowed it to connect.
I would further venture to say that it may likely be a particular setting that got you access to the school's network that is causing the conflict.
Ok, to try to resolve it so that you can go back to use your original profile, we will want to first try to clean up any saved Preferred Network in that profile. So, log-off the new user profile, and then, log back on with your original profile.
Using System Preferences, we will want to first delete all of your saved Preferred Networks. (ref: System Preferences > Network > AirPort > Advanced > AirPort) Delete all of the Preferred Networks entries, and then, click on OK.
We also want to remove any saved keychain entires for AirPort connections in the OS X Keychain. You would do this with the Keychain Access utility that you will find in the \Applications\Utilities directory on your Mac.
In the Keychain Access, look for entries with the Kind of "AirPort Network Password." These may have different titles when connecting to non-AirPort routers. Regardless, these would be the saved credentials (network name & password) that you would have entered when attempting to connect to a wireless router with your MBP's AirPort. These entries were created when you responded with "Yes" when you asked if you wanted to save to the Keychain.
When done removing the entries; log-off, and then, log back on with your original user account ... and then try accessing the Belkin's wireless network with your MBP again.

  • WRT54G v6 - Can Connect to wireless network but can't access internet

Ok, this is my last resort for help. I spent two hours yesterday with linksys "chat" support to no avail.
    First the techincal details:
OS for all machines = Windows XP
Laptop w/two adapters - one wired, one wireless
    WRT54G v6 upgraded with 1.00.9 firmware
    SpeedStream modem from DSL provider
I have manually set the IP, subnet mask, gateway, primary and secondary DNS for my wireless adapter (using the Alternate Configuration in the Internet Protocol Properties of the Wireless Network Connection). When I connect to the wireless network I see that the IP, subnet, gateway and DNS server IPs are all correct (via ipconfig /all).  I see that I am connected to my SSID (11.0 MBps, signal strength Excellent) however I can't access web sites (the server not found message appears in the browser) nor can I ping the router IP or any other IP (LAN or WAN).
My wired PC works fine with this router. My laptop works fine with this router when wired.
Anyone face a similar situation and have a solution?  Thanks.

    A new discovery...
When I disable the wireless security on the router, I am able to connect to the wireless network, ping the router and access the internet.  So, there is apparently something wrong with the WEP security (although I am able to connect to the wireless network when WEP is enabled).
I am thouroughly confused. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Iphone won't connect to a WLAN if there is no internet on this network.

    Hi,
I recently discovered that my Iphone 4s 6.1.2 does not connect to wifi network if there is no internet.
Unfortunately, because i often use my Macbook to create a wifi network and use iphone to remote computer in a certain area.
i also Have a home network, without internet to connect my devices together, but now can't connect to this network anymore. On iphone it shows a checkmark on the network but seems never to really connect and 3G still take over.
I have tried resetting network settings in iphone, still can't make it!
    PLEASE HELP!
    Thanks

    Hey Keith Dubya,
Try to make the iPhone forget the network as described here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305715
Also when you enter the password make sure you have selected the correct security type. Settings>Wi-FI>Network name>Security. You may have to change the security type to WEP hex or ASCII

My iMac is able to use my wireless internet from my airport extreme, however, no other devices(iphone, ipod) will connect. The network shows up, but the indicator just spins without ever joining.
I have tried resetting my airport extreme, creating a new network, etc nothing seems to work.

I have a feeling you may be stuck in bridge mode there...
Factory reset the Extreme (so we don't second guess later), and re-set up the extreme using iOS5 on your iPhone.
Set up your Wi-Fi network with your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, or Mac.

  • Our IPod connects to the WIFi, but not to the internet.

Our IPod connects to the WIFI, but not to the internet.  We have a wireless router which we connect our MACBOOK to the internet and our IPod.  The MACBOOK works fine, but not the IPod.  It shows to be connected to WIFI, but whenever we try to connect to an internet site i.e. Sarfari, we get an message "Safari cannot open the page becuase it is not connected to the internet".  We have tried rebooting, but it has not helped.

    Try:
    - Resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Setting

  • My iPad2 no longer connects to my home wifi network but there is no problem connecting to other saved wifi networks. Currently using iOS8.0.2. with storage capacity of 12.2Gb but only 147Mb free. Disconnecting the router and rebooting the iPad worked

My iPad2 no longer connects to my home wifi network but there is no problem connecting to other saved wifi networks. Currently using iOS8.0.2. with storage capacity of 12.2Gb but only 147Mb free. Disconnecting the router and rebooting the iPad worked briefly as a temporary fix but not anymore

    You could try this
Temporarily disable security on your home network
    See if the iPad connects
If it does then reset the security - with the same or different password

I have an ipod touch 8gb that is disabled. on the screen it reads ipod disabled connect to itunes. But when i connect it to itunes, it says that it cant work with the ipod because it is locked with a passcode. what now?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

I can Connect my iPhone to Time Capsule network, but I Cant get internett on it??

Download 5.6 utility for Lion.. inbuilt version is hopeless.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Set TC and wireless names to short, no spaces, no special characters.. ie pure alphanumeric.
Lock the wireless to fixed channels.. only 2.4ghz matters.. as iphone cannot connect to 5ghz.
Try 6, 11 first then 1. I think bluetooth may be set to use lower channels.
That seems to have fixed it for most people.

  • I'm connected to the network, but still can't get online!

I use airport to connect to the internet in my home. I have a very strong signal and my computer says I'm connected to the network, but I still can't connect to the internet. It just stopped working. Running diagnostics doesn't help- it just tells me to restart the device, which I've done over and over to no avail.
    iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Am a newbie but somethings may work here, Go to dock preferences and to network and to your airport connection window.
You have a green light signal in network status window? If it is yellow or red it is unavailable. If your connection is full of traffic, this may effect connection.
In window you may need to type in optional search domains. Your provider should tell you this no one else~ They would also walk you through your connection failures. If it is yellow and you connect to your provider's router and don't have your own router, this number may not appear in your connection information. You need to tell them their router is down so they can fix it. They may not find out if pings come back. Pings may also be cached (I am not sure but it might) so it may take them a while to find out if you don't tell them. I would call your provider. Maybe empty your preferences in your browser. You may have cookies or garbage to empty there. Use another browser.

Have you tried clearing Safari? Clear Safari, close Safari completely and reboot your iPad. Try again.
    Go to Settings>Safari>Cookies and Data.
If you are running iOS 5 or iOS 6 you close apps like this. Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
If you are running iOS 7, you close apps this way. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
