My ipod is no longer synching with my itunes.
My ipod started out being able to synch with no issue now it wont synch at all. Anyone have an idea as to why?

A couple of other items:
1) I am guessing Apple does not keep a history of all my music purchases? As I did not have my entire library backed-up anywhere, and relying on the music I have on my ipod and my iphone as my only source of itunes music....I have lost over 500 songs!!!
2) I used to have an Apple account under another account name, and since have switched to a new account name. Is there anyway to find the history of purchases from my old Apple account name and transfer these over to my new account name and onto my new laptop?
I hope someone can help, I am having a very difficult time trying to obtain answers. AngieThe iphone/ipod is NOT a storage/backup device. Not maintaining a backup copy is a big mistake.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone/ipod to your computer:
Authorize your computer for all accounts and then click File>Transfer Purchases -

How can i be sure plugging ipod in wont automatically synch with empty itun
Hi can anyone help me, Ive just had to reformat my harddrive, which is only 20 GB anyway, and I have 30GB of music on an 80 GB Ipod. The last time i plugged my ipod into a new version of itunes (i.e when i first got it) it just emptied it through synching it up. I know I need to set it to manually manage but I'm worried that it will on first time just automatically synch it before I can switch the option.
So my question is, will plugging in the ipod to Itunes just empty it or is there a way i can make sure it wont synch up.

Also can I just say how appalingly dreadful apple is, no offense if you like them, an ipod's the first apple product ive ever bought and its good but the whole synch up thing is rubbish, and their customer service is a joke, a really bad joke told by someone who cant tell jokes, over and over again saying 'dyou get it dyou get it' each time, in a high nasally voice. Its really awful.If your iPod is set to update automatically you just need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7 installed hold down the Control and Alt keys (or Shift + Ctrl keys in older versions). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod -

My iPod Touch Gen 5 will no longer synch with iTunes on my computer. Only change since this happened is update to iPod to OS 8.1.1 iPod synch remains stuck in "Step 8 of 8"
On your computer go to the control panel (hover in the lower right corner) then programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support then go to apple.com and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
You won't lose any content, you're not deleting that, just the programs that access them.
What is thought to happen is that sometimes a new version of itunes doesn't update the drivers in those other two programs. The only way to update the drivers is to force it by uninstalling the programs which allows itunes to write the correct ones.
My iPad and iPod did exactly the same thing and this is how I fixed it. -
I had to change computers. Now when I plug in my iPod I get the message. My iPod is synched with another itunes library. How do I find and synch with my original.
You need to Copy the iTunes from the Other computer or its Backup, to your New computer.

I have an older iPod that no longer shows up in iTunes or appears to be charging. When I press the Menu and Select buttons, the Apple logo appears and then an icon of a battery with an exclamation point. Is it dead for good?
If it is otherwise working, you can change the battery. If you want to do it yourself, you can buy the part on eBay and other online sources. Just make sure you know the type of iPod you have so that you get the right part.

You can also have a repair business do the work.
If it is just the battery, if you do a Reset (using the Menu and Select buttons) while it is connect to your computer, I think it should still be recognized by iTunes. -
I currently have Leopard, and there are no longer updates for it. So I must upgrade to either Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion. Without doing so I cannot update my itunes, and my ipod is no longer compatile with my mac. How can I buy the upgrade, since I do not have access to the mac store as that comes with Snow Leopard? I went to Best Buy and they said neither Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion can be bought there.

Notes in a contact in OUtlook are no longer synched with my contacts on iphone
Hi I noticed recently that the notes that I make about a person in their contact in Outlook is no longer synched with the Iphone.
Does anybody know if there is a way to make this synch again?What about the opposite way:

status update -- I tried a lot of other things but finally solved the problem after I removed all the groups from mac address book. (thank-you to my son Ben)
FYI -- along the way I tried doing the reset sync history, which deleted all contacts from the iphone. I initially thought that was a good thing, until I discovered that nothing I tried after that would put the contacts back on the iphone. Next I restored factory settings on the iphone and set up as a new user, but that didn't work either. Or maybe it did; maybe deleting the groups wouldn't have solved the problem if I hadn't deleted all contacts and reset the iphone first.
