My Ipod is not responding and not showing in Itunes

I had to reset to factory standards cause it was showing a message of my Ipod was damage.  After several days of trying it finally went back to the right screen.  Now it seems frozen on the welcome screen,  Itunes do not recognise it.

    Since updating to Firefox 6.0.2 i have not been happy with the way it is running.   • Itunes just asked me to do another update yesterday. But it's still not working. when ever i try to sync music to my ipod touch it keeps saying itunes is not responding and it freezes. Itunes please fix this problem!!!!!:-(

    Itunes still is not working correctly. There was a software update that i received yesterday and i figured it would fix the problem with itunes not responding, but it didn't. It's still doing the same thing. I'm getting kinda annoyed cause i use itunes as my main music player so please help me fix this software issue thanks!

    My 3rd Gen Ipod Touch was undergoing a software update when it stopped and itunes threw up a message saying "Update cannot be completed due to an unknown error". I disconnected and reconnected the ipod, and itunes suggested I restore the ipod. I started the restore and it froze midway and again said "Cannot be completed due to unknown error". The ipod is now frozen with the apple logo and an empty progress bar. It is not responding to anything. Windows is recognising it by opening Itunes but Itunes is not showing the divice in the pane. I dont know what to do! Please help!

    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting for your iPod nano that is not responding. In this situation, if resetting it did not resolve, I would suggest restoring the iPod back to its factory settings and then sync your content back onto it from iTunes.     - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Perhaps the reason you haven't had any replies is because there is no such thing as an 8GB iPod Classic.
    I suggest that you begin by correctly identifying which iPod you have.

    Perform a "hard reset" on the device by pressing down and holding the home button and the sleep/wake button for up to 30secs. until you see a black screen with the Apple logo, then release.
    Then test to see if it solved the problem.
