My iPod is not showing any of my music in its library.

My iPod is not showing any of my music in its library. I can only listen to and see my music when the iPod is plugged into the computer. Even when its plugged in my Ipod says there is no music in the library but iTunes says its all on there. Any suggestions on what the problem may be?

- Try a reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Try unsyncing all the music and resyncing.

  • 80GB ipod Classic not showing any Music loaded on it

I have an 80GB Classic Model No A1238. Suddenly the ipod has stopped showing any playlist or music that was there on it. But the ipod shows 56.4gb used and 17.9GB Free which means it still has the data but in the summary it shows Songs 0, Videos 0, Podcast 0 etc... How can i recover the music and make it appear ? Will i have to restore the ipod or there is a way recover ? Please help.

Sounds like the iPod's file system and databases have been corrupted possibly due to a damaged/failing hard drive or failed sync operating with iTunes.  So yes, the only way to try and recover is to restore the iPod to factory settings.

  • HT4314 I have an IPhone an IPad1 and and IPod.  The game center on the IPod will not show any of the games.  Can anyone help with this?

I have an IPod touch 4.2 and the game center is not showing any of the games.   My Ipad1 and IPhone are running from the same account and both work great. Any suggestions how I might solve this?  Thank u

I would just explain that this just started happening, that nothing has changed on the phone, that it is an original iPhone and I wondered if they are implementing a change in coverage with their Edge network in my area.
If you restore your phone, you will be given an option to back up your phone at the beginning of the process (see step 6 here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).  You will be given the option to restore to that backup at the end of the restore process.  Your messages are stored in the backup so restoring to the backup will return the messages to your phone.  Be sure to import your photos and videos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts somewhere before restoring your phone as these sometimesget lost in the restore process.

  • Ipod does not show any of the files I have put in it

    Hi,
I have been using my 5G iPod 60 GB for sometime now. I had lot of songs, photos and videos in it. All of a sudden it does not show me any of these files. My music, photo and video folders are empty. It shows my iPod capacity as 1.3 MB when I go to view the settings>about. I have tried reseting the iPod few times by pressing the center and menu commands together a few times. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  • Ipod will not show any of listed podcasts

My itunes is the latest software version and updates all music automatically and have no problems there. I have chosen 3 podcast series to update and then synchronise over to my ipod but when I plug it in to the pc - it updates but doesn't show any podcasts as I have downloaded in itunes. I have tried removing all podcasts and downloading again, changing the settings between manual and automatic, disconnecting and restarting itunes, restarting the pc, plugging in the ipod first, then disconnecting, updating the podcasts, then reconnecting.
Everything I try - and the podcast directory does not show in the source list under my ipod and no matter how I update my ipod in itunes - it comes back as successful.
    Any ideas please?

Many thanks for your reply = I have tried all 3
settings under my ipod preferences for podcasts -
whether I try automatically or manually updating - it
comes up as 'successful' yet none of the podcasts
(selected if manual) appear on my ipod source list.
It used to work previously until I changed my itunes
over to a new computer and pointed my ipod to
synchronise to this new one. It managed to delete
all of my existing podcasts and won't add any new
    ones.
This sounds like an authorization problem. Why not try the following: "purchase" a free download from the iTunes Music Store by downloading the free Single of the Week. Auto-sync that onto your iPod. You may be prompted to authorise your iPod in order to play that song. After that, try sync'ing and playing the podcasts.
It's recommended that you use the "Deauthorize Computer" setting under the Advanced menu of iTunes if you know that you're going to "retire" a computer from use with an iPod, since you can only have copies of DRM'd music feeding your iPod from 5 authorized computers. However, since iTunes will now prompt you to deauthorize one of your machines (and let you choose which one) once you try to sync to a 6th iTunes with DRM content, no harm is done.
    Hope this works for you.

  • Ipod touch not showing any songs but playlists work.

    Ipod Touch 4th Gen.
For a while now, when I went to "Songs" it showed "No Songs", even though playlists still worked, and songs showed on the computer when I synced. If I pressed for "Albums" or "Artists" they would show briefly and then kick me out to the main icon menu screen. Following guidance elsewhere, I went into settings and changed the language, then went into music, then back to settings and changed back to English. For some wierd reason this has worked to restore songs and artists, but when I try to access the album menu I'm kicked straight back to the main icon screen.
Anyone have any idea what's happening here and how I can access the Album menu again?

  • Ipod does not show files

Please help! - my ipod (80gb classic/black) all of a sudden does not show any of my music at all (nor photos etc). I have restored it on iTunes, yet the files are still absent, and when I plug it back in iTunes does not recognise it - and regularly becomes unresponsive and freezes. I erased the ipod on disk utility, but since doing this I cannot erase it again - it will not unmount. The iPod also makes a clicking noise which I presume is its hard drive.
Is this a problem with my Mac - ie iTunes files, or does it sound like a physical problem with the ipod itself?
Thanks for your help, Tim Stoner

    Stonertim,
Clicking noise is usually a sign of a failing hard drive, I would take it (Your iPod) to your local Apple store and let them take a look at it.

  • TS1382 I have a ipod classic 160GB and it's not showing any music anymore, but there is still 7GB of memory being used, and I don't have it back up on my itunes, since I had to put a new hard drive on my computer. Any suggestion to find out whats on that

I have a ipod classic 160GB and it's not showing any music anymore, but there is still showing 7GB of memory being used, and I don't have it backed up on my itunes, since I had to put a new hard drive on my computer. Any suggestion to find out whats on that memory or to get it the music back, there is approximately over 1400 songs on it?

What is the memory being used by, is it Other? If it is, that means the iPod can no longer read the music, so it has put it all in "Other".
The usual fix for this is to allow the iPod to Sync with its iTunes Library. If that doesn't work, the next option is to Restore the iPod using the Restore command in iTunes, on the Device/Summary pane.
Unless you are very (very) lucky, I suspect that you are going to have to Restore your iPod. Restoring will remove everything form the iPod and put back onto it only what it finds in your iTunes Library, which you say is currently empty.
    If you have to rebuild your Library after this issue, by adding all the music back again, this is going to be hard to hear, but for the future, you may want to consider always having a backup of your library. The easiset way to back the Library up is;
if the Library is small enough, burn it to a DVD, as digital files, not a "music CD".
If your Library is too large for a DVD, buy yourself an external hard drive and copy the Library onto the drive. Remember to update the backup every so often.

  • My iPod will not show up on my iTunes following the newest update, yet says its up to date on software?

Recently my iTunes has updated to the latest version on my PC (a Windows 7), and although ios7 is recommended, my iPod tells me that it is up to date with the 6.1.6 it is currently running. It does not show ios7 to download at all, merely says it is up to date on its software. When I try and plug the iPod in to my PC with a USB cable to sync new music to it, it doesn't even register as being there at all. No device option is in the drop-down file box nor does it show next to the music, video and etc icons. I tried restoring my iPod to the cloud and that worked just fine, tried restarting both devices and replugging in the USB, but nothing seems to be working. No matter what I've tried from the FAQ, my iPod is not showing up or registering to sync. It worked perfectly fine before iTunes updated and any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The 4G can only go to 6.1.6. It hardware does not support a higher version
