My iPod is not syncing correctly.

I have the latest generation iPod Touch and I have the newest software update. In my iTunes library I have the songs checked that I'd like on my iPod but when I sync my iPod, it does not sync those songs and keeps the songs that are currently on the iPod. It also has been deleting songs off of my iPod even though I never deleted them. Also I noticed when I have my iPod connected to my laptop, in the syncing process it always skips steps 3 and 4?? I'm not sure what to do and I'm starting to get frustrated.

Hello steffanix
To start the sync over, deselect the music in the Music tab and sync. Once complete, select it again to start the sync over.

  • Ipod does not sync correctly with ITunes

Hello, and thanks in adavce for responding.
A couple days ago I connected my Ipod to a different PC with an older version of Itunes. I did not asociate the library nor synchronized the Ipod with it. When I connected my Ipod in my main PC where I keep my library, it seems as if it does not sync all my files correctly. For example, I have some TV shows in my library but they don't seem to transfer into my Ipod, when they used to before. I have the same problem with the photos. I have re-set my Ipod to factory settings a copule of times with different results. The first time, the photo's would not appear, and the second time, the TV shows did not. Furthermore, my ITunes library does not show photos anymore, but they do appear in the Ipod. It seems as if the Ipod is confused with ITunes, but I honestly don't know what to do. Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

formatting the ipod resolved the problem for me, and also on a friends ipod with the same problem (160GB version)

  • IPod Playlists not syncing correctly?

I have a 60GB 5th Generation iPod. Up until my last sync, I could choose to randomize my playlists and they would automatically sync that way to my iPod. Now it's not doing it correctly. Everything is exactly the way that I had the last time that I synced my iTunes and iPod.
I've tried restarting it, resetting to factory settings, re-downloading the new iTunes 8 and it's still not working. Is it just a marketing ploy in order for more people to buy the newer iPods or am I just dumb and not doing something right?

I have had the same problem ever since installing iTunes 8. I have several playlists in iTunes that include many artists, some artists with more than 1 song. I have the playlists shuffled in iTunes, but when I sync my iPod, the playlists show up in my iPod with the songs in alphabetical order by artist. The playlists are not shuffled on the iPod, as they are in iTunes.

  • ITunes / iPod touch not syncing correctly

I'm having two problems at the moment, the first of which is an error which comes up while syncing the mail accounts to my iPod. The following message (http://www.moventouch.com/itunes.png) comes up (the part which has been blanked out contained my name, it's not a big gap in reality). Secondly, I subscribed to a new video podcast (Spore TV), and when I sync my iPod it doesn't get copied over.
Are these related, and how can I fix them? I'm using Mac OS X 10.5.5, iTunes 8 and iPod OS 2.1.1.
    Thanks!

Sorry, fixed the Mail problem - didn't realised the 'Advanced' bit of the Info tab was down there, thought it would have been with Mail. My mistake, but the podcast problem is still there.

  • 80gb iPod Classic Not Syncing Correctly, -50 Error

Okay so, I restored my 80gb iPod Classic last night because my music videos were acting screwed up. This one video kept getting half graphics from a video I had watched before it, and other graphics just depicted a pink outline, and other stuff. So I restored it. Today, only 16 out of 281 songs/music videos will sync onto my iPod, when it says it has 166ish songs synced. Then when it gets to that point, it gives me the -50 error. I dont know whats wrong with it or how to fix it. I looked at that article this website has with the .dll registery files, I did that and it didnt work. I havent made any other changes to this laptop either.

    Okay, some new things.
I just switched my entire iPod library to my desktop computer, instead of my mom's.
I thought maybe it'd fix my classic iPod. I was wrong <_<.
Now I've been getting errors, in order, -69, -50, and now disc cannot be found.
What the heck is up with my classic. My nano is working fine, but I love my classic because my nano is almost filled because of all the songs I have.

  • Itunes not syncing correctly with my ipod

So i was downloading this new album to my ipod and when i synced it, i made sure to see if it was fine on my ipod
there were these 3 songs that belonged in the album but were isolated in their own album.
It either only showed the album name or just the artists name
i tried to fix it but now i lost an album from the album category and its left as Unknown Album but on my itunes the songs are all where they are supposed to be and is fine.
This has happened to me with other albums but after 2 hours you obviously have to give up
Is there something wrong with my itunes or is it my ipod thats not syncing correctly?
And also i wanted to know if i can write a review on the whole itunes program because honestly, it is so difficult and all i'm trying to do is download music.

I looked through some older threads on this subject and, while bunches of people seem to have had this problem, I did not find a solution thta works for me. Also, for what it's worth, the last time the "number of plays" and "date last played" updated was 12/5/13. The only significant thing I can remember that happened on my computer around that time was some Windows updates on 12/11/13. I have no idea if that can affect iTunes or not. Looking at some of the other threads, some people had this problem on Apple computers, so I guess Windows updates could not have affected them.

  • One of my ipods is not syncing properly. System says sync is complete but the updates aren't being made. Can I correct this?

One of my iPods is not syncing properly. The system says "sync complete". but it's obvious the updates are not being made.  Can I correct this?

You may refer to this tutorial, it's about how to fix iTunes sync problem with iPod. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

  • (ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.

(ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

  • My Ipod will not sync to my computer.

My Ipod will not sync to my computer. There have been several pop ups saying that my Ipod Is unable to sync.It also says i don't have the correct disc? I don't know what that means. I have tried unplugging my ipod multiple times to see if it will sync correctly, but It hasn't so far.All i really need is to put music on my ipod.  Please help soon!

Not sure what the problem is. I'd try to troubleshoot it. See if it will work with a different USB Transfer cable. See if it will connect to a different PC. See if OTHER iPods will connect to YOUR PC. Usually when something like this happens it's a setting that has been changed, or unfortunately, it can also be a hardware issue (iPod connection port broken, USB Transfer cable broken, etc...) Let us know if any of these things work or if you get it fixed. Good Luck!

  • Smart Playlists not syncing correctly

All of my iTunes smart playlists are not syncing correctly on my 3rd gen. iPod touch. I have iTunes 9, and the latest iPod touch software (3.1.2) and nothing is correct.
For example on my "Top 25 Most Played" there are songs that I have listened to only once, and some, zero times! In the "Recently Added" playlist, there are songs that I added years ago!
How will this get fixed? I thought maybe 3.1.2 would fix it, but obviously it didn't. I remember this happened to me when I first got my first gen. iPod touch, but that sorted itself out in about a week. I've now had the third gen. iPod touch for a month now.

thanks for posting this link to Apple officially responding to this issue. although these are good workaround solutions, they are still just workaround solutions. it seems there remains a bug when the "live updating" option is selected for a smart playlist. this is one of the most obvious/major bugs I have seen in Apple software (and it's not that big of a deal, so that says a lot about the quality of Apple software).

  • My gmail account connecting to the exchange server, does not sync correctly

    Hello,
i've been with the sync. problem with my gmail account which is connecting my iPod touch 2nd-gen./iOS v4.2.1 to the google's exchange server, more specifically when i read some emails offline.
Actually there is no sync problem when i read emails online, when the read emails are shown 'having been read' at the desktop browser as well.
That is, the problem i have now is the 'having been read' emails offline do not sync correctly to the google's exchange server.
Hopefully there is some help from this forum i can get.
    Thanks
    YH Kwon

Right now the add-ons got synced but the customization I did to the looks of it did not.
These customizations are: moving the home button right next to the back button and removing the search bar.
Conclusion: it takes a while(about an hour!!!!!) to sync these stuff, at least that is what happened with me though my connection was normal and not slow at all.

  • Why does my ical on my ipod touch not sync with my ical on my desktop if I put in an event on the ipod calendar?

Why does my ical on my ipod touch not sync with my ical on my desktop imac ical?
It will if I put it in on my desktop though.
    Please help,
    Brie

Probably because you did not tell the iPod to sync the calendar in iTunes.

  • An Album (CD) I have imported in my iTunes, and is on my iPod, will not sync over to my iPad. Why not?

An Album  (CD) that I have successfully imported into iTunes, and synced with my iPod, will NOT sync with my iPad, even though I have done everything I know how to do so. When viewing the music in "On This iPad" mode, I can actually see the album there, but it is grayed out, and in the left hand column there is a circle with dotted lines, as if it is an incomplete download--which in essence it is. But I have the album (CD) in my iTunes and on my iPod, just like hundreds of other CD's--what's up with this one?
Another characteristic is that since trying to import this CD into my iPad, I cannot get a successful sync of the iPad now; the syncing process hangs up in "Waiting for changes to be applied" for 3 or 4 minutes, and then it just stops.  No message that "The syncing process is complete. Please eject before disconnecting." The sync just quits on its own, so I take it that the syncing process was unsuccessful.
    Now what?

Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem.

  • My iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 8.1 laptop or my Windows 7 PC.

I have been going through the forums for the last few weeks and nothing has helped.  Both computers are x64 bit.
    Problems I am experiencing
    A. Windows 7 PC has not synced photo stream since September 25
    B. Windows 8.1 laptop has not synced since a little before that.
    C. I can't upload any photos (.jpegs) to the photo stream.  An error pops up saying that they cann't be uploaded as they are not in a format supported by iCloud, even though they are jpegs.
    D. Photos are syncing ti my ipad 3 perfectly fine, so clearly there is a problem with my computers but I am totally stumped.
I have un-installed, deleted all icloud photo stream folders, restarted and then re-installed the iCloud control panel on both computers, and it has created new folders and re-synced maybe 30 photos before it stopped again.
I have uninstalled every single Apple program on my Windows 8.1 laptop and reinstalled iTunes, iCloud and Quicktime and that didn't help.
I have toggled the Photo Stream on/off button in setting on my iphone, and that seemed to kick start the sync on my Windows 7 PC this morning, so far I've got 70 photos on my Windows 7 PC and that's where it has stopped but its a really random selection, and doesn't include the photos I took yesterday or today.
Two of my colleagues at work where my Windows 7 PC is located - their photo streams are working fine, both using ios7 and icloud control panel, however their computers are x32 bit.
I have also simply logged out and signed in again multiple times, however that doesn't do anything.
I have unticked the "read-Only" permissions on my photo icloud stream folder, but that didn't help either.
I have followed the troubleshooting from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989 - however that also did not help.
I have tried changing the folder path for iCloud photo stream, however that did not help either.
I tried the steps from someone who said they spoke to an Apple rep (steps copied from forum and I put them in italic) on this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5381738
Anyway, the Apple rep had me sign out of iCloud CC on my PC.
Then on each iOS devices Settings/iCloud/Delete Account.
    Confirmed all the warnings.
Then re-entered my iCloud id and password on the iOS device.
Things restarted and the iOS Photo Streams got loaded with the number of photos that
    iCloud has.
Signed in on iCloud on the PC. It synced the same way.
Tried taking pictures on the iPhone and iPad. They synced everywhere.
    So I'm back in business.
I just deleted everything on my iOS devices when I exited iCloud.
My interest is the PC syncing when I take a photo on my iPhone.
ME: Okay so these steps again refreshed the photostream on my iPhone 5.  I can see that the photos I took yesterday and today have been uploaded to the photo stream as I can see them there on my device.  I have also now signed back into iCloud on my Windows 7 PC and it is slowly syncing again, but just recognising the same photos it downloaded previously as per Step 3 which I did just earlier this morning.
I have also just tried uploading photos via the upload folder from my windows 7 PC, and they uploaded perfectly.
This is really, really frustrating.  I've tried everything I can find on these forums but nothing has helped fix the issue 100%.
Can anyone offer something else I can try to reslove this issue?

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

  • I just got a new computer and my iPOD will not sync to it because of the old computer. How can I get my library to sync on the new computer????

I originally synced my iPOD to my PC in April 2011.  I purchased a new computer but my iPOD will not sync to it because it is synced to the old PC.  I do not want to erase my iPOD to sync with the new PC because I have loaded alot of music from CD's to it.  HELP!

See this article how to transfer your data? How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
As mentioned by vazandrew, music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0
