My ipod is recognising but the comp isnt !

i have a pink ipod nano 4th generation .my ipod is recognising that its plugged into the computer but the computer isnt its coming up with found new harware then saying there is a problem occured and ur device may not work peoperly please help , i think its because i downloaded the new itunes 9.2.1 is there any way i can download the older version of itunes ? PLLEEEEAAASSEEE HELLPP!

You can try to reinstall iTunes and sync again, your PC should recognize your iPod. If you want, install an older version of iTunes.

Well, I don't know if that's a software or hardware problem. You should take it to Apple Genius Bar or send it to service center. And one more thing, Its not synch...... Its Sync... Just saying... It would help if you send pictures of the problem. Such as the screen of iTunes saying it's syncing. It will help everyone and me...

I recently bought an Ipod touch 2nd gen, (Ebay). It's in great shape and seemed to be wiped clean.
When I connect (via windows computer) to Itunes with usb cord the Ipod icon shows, but the only function you can do is eject. When its in the upper right hand corner and you click on it all you get is a done button, when it's in the side bar right click and your only option is eject, left click has no effect. If I go to "file">devices it's as if there are no devices connected.
I purchased a song with Itunes on the Ipod itself, and it transferred to my library on the computer automatically .
I have an Iphone 5 and a nano that are still functioning with Itunes thru computer so I'm thinking the issue is with the Ipod touch. I've reset it several times, rebooted it, with no change.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I can not get to iPhone screen, so no way to get to Settings. That is the problem. When I connect phone to iTunes I get screen asking to insert SIN card. On the phone I'm getting Cinfigure screen asking Launguage , Country or Region, Wi-Fi, ( I can connect to my home wi-fi), and last screen "Activating your iPhone". I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for about two years now and after about one year, I plugged in my iPod into my computer to sync more music. Here is the problem: The tab where you go to sync music to your iPod and shows the list of artists and songs you want to sync to the iPod, the tab I can get to but the list of songs and artists does not show up and the only way I can sync music to my iPod is to basically wipe my iPod and start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to do that because I do not have all the songs in my library that I have on my iPod. I have uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed it, but it did not work and I do not know what else to do. I would really appreciate helpful guidance to get it fixed if it can be fixed. Hey Lynette1234, As UbuntuXP stated check and clean the port of foreign debris. Lint packed in the bottom of the charging port is most often the problem, This seems to be more of an issue with the lighting ports used on the iPod 5. The following will help you clear / clean the lighting port on an iPod 5. Try using a strong light and a magnifying glass to look into the port, using a soft brush to carefully remove any debris, if you must a non-conductive probe may be needed, I find a round wooden toothpick work well. Avoid touching or bending the gold contact pins on the long side of the port. Damage them and you will have a costly repair. Also, make sure the silver lock springs (looks like silver bump on each end) on the short sides of the port are free to move, if not clear the debris. If the older 30 pin type, same thing avoid touching, bending the contacts, and remove all foreign debris. Many report a soft toothbrush works well or a toothpick. Avoid using solvents if the contact pins appear corroded, generally plugging / plugging the charger end , about 12 times will clean dirty contacts. If you must, a cotton swab cut to fit the port with a drop of 91% isopropyl alcohol on it, (you want the swab damp, NOT wet or dripping), will remove most any corrosion. simply run the swab in and out as if you were plugging it in until the swab comes out clean. May need to use more than one swab. But check for lint / foreign debris first. Good luck. Cheers.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
If the Restore doesn't help, call Apple. Your device is only a month old and you shouldn't have to jump through hoops.

Missing Artist names in iPod under lookup but the song is there

I have all the approx 7,000 tunes on my LapTop that sync's into my iPod OK but there are some missing "Artist" names in my iPod when I lookup by Artist but the song is there in song lookup and it has the Artist name it the display.
Some answers to some questions, my helper's maybe asking themselves are............
I've loaded the songs into iTunes from the web as well as via CD's online with "Grace Notes" inputting song info also with me off line loading in songs from my internal and external hard drive. I have converted all songs that weren't under the option (create an ACC Version). My understanding this is this to create a .mp3 file within the iTunes Music Library Folder. I would then delete the originally song

It could be that you have inadvertently imported these CDs into iTunes as part of a compilation. If so, the artists won't show in the artists menu on the iPod.
To check, highlight the tracks on one of the offending artists CDs in iTunes, right click and select "get info". This brings up a song info window, and by selecting "options" you can check if you have 'yes' in the box marked "part of a compilation".
If you have, select 'no' instead and click 'ok'. Do this with any CD that has this issue. This will alter the info in iTunes, and you should then connect your iPod and synchronize the changes.
The problem arises because the information contained on the Gracenote CD Data Base (where iTunes gets all it's album/artist/track info from), is sometimes incorrect. It can show CDs as compilations when in fact they are not.
You should also check that the songs have album name info in their ID tags.

Once you add a second album name for that artist even for a single song, ALL the rest of the songs should now show up under that artist, even those without album names.
