My iPod is staying on the connect USB screen

My girlfriend was on iTunes and it asked her to update her software to 4.3.5. And so she clicked yes and as it was downloading an error message popped up saying that she has to set the iPod back to restore. So she did and now neither her iTunes on her comp or my iTunes on my comp will recognize that it's plugged in. Her iPod is just staying on the screen as if she had just bought it and was goon to set it up. So then I contacted support and they told me to force restore it by holding the home button and plug it in so that iTunes would pop up and say it's in recovery mode and to restore well I did that and everything on iTunes looked like it was going fine but the phone stayed on that screen still so I'm lost and stumped can someone help me

Two things:
- If you are in a restore loop (it looks like it succesfully restores but then asks you to restore again)
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes): This issue is typically caused by out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software. Please followTroubleshooting security software issues if USB troubleshooting does not resolve this issue.

- If not that try placing the iPod in DFU mode and restoring again.

  • IPod Classic stays on the connected screen

    M

heres my question I just recently added some music to iTunes and I had another program that was downloading updates and I hooked up iPod Classic to the computer and itunes and it said "Connecting" and itunes didn't load up my iPod. I disconnected my iPod and it stays on the connecting screen
anybody wanna help me on this?
    I would gladly appreciate it!

  • My ipod needs to be restored but it only stays on the "connect to itunes" for approximately 20 seconds and then turns black as if it is turned off.

So a couple of months ago, I had to restore my new IPOD 5 TOUCH because i had forgotten the password and disabled it, so as you can imagine I am quite familiar with restoring it.
(The last time I had synced it was the only time that I had to restore it when I first got it when I had disabled it)
This morning I wanted to sync my ipod. So I plugged my ipod into my WINDOWS computer and waited for itunes to open, and it did just like it is supposed to. It then said itunes needed the latest update so i continued with updating it. Itunes updated, but then said that my ipod needed the latest software. I said "ok update" and thats when itunes made my ipod into DFU mode without me even touching it.
SOOOO as you can imagine I was quite upset. I then have realized that because Itunes had moved it into DFU mode on its own, I could not manually get my ipod out of DFU mode so the only thing i was left to do was go ahead and restore it.  (correct me if Im wrong)
My huge issue right now is that my ipod NEEDS to be restored, but it only stays on the "connect to itunes" screen for approximatley 20 seconds and then turns black as if it has been turned off. When I plug it into my computer and turn it on to the "connect to itunes" mode, it does open it in itunes and starts "extracting sofftware" but then when it turns black after 20 seconds, it closes out because my computer thinks it has turned off.
I have tried charging it, and nothing has progressed. Im not sure if anything can be done for it right now, or if I could bring it to an apple store to fix it... it's brand new about 3 months old.
HELP and some advice would be greatly appreciated  !
    Thanks!
    -B

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

What iOS do you have on the iPod?
Did it every connect to your computer with that iOS?
The latest iOD for the 2G is 4.2.1 and that required a Mac with 10.5.8 or later.

  • HT1430 My iphone 4 wont charge it stays on the connect to power screen, what shall I do?

Yesterday when my iphone had battery I went to charge it through the mains and it did not charge so I waited till the phone had completely ran out of battey and then tried to charge it but whenever I plug it into the mains or a USB port it just stays on the connect to power screen, what shall I do?

    Hi David,
Here is an article that may help you troubleshoot that issue:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
I recommend checking into several sections in Power/Battery, including "Battery does not charge from the USB power adapter," "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive," and "Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off."
    Take care,

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I tried to update my phone to the new system but i removed it from my cpmputer and now its stuck on the connect USB to itunes screen.....HELP

    Hello the_generator2003,
It sounds like after having disconnected the iPhone physically during the update process, the phone appears to be stuck in recovery mode. If you have followed the onscreen image, and reconnected the device to your computer, then I would start by resetting the phone and trying again:
From: Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
              http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue is not resolved, then try putting the unit into recovery mode again with this article:

Can anyone help me with this issue???

Connect your iTouch to your PC then open iTunes, if iTunes does not recognize your device, try to hold the SLEEP Button and the HOME button at the same time (iPod Reset) for a couple of seconds until the "Charging Tone sounds, now you should be seeing your device name in the iTunes " Device List". If you do, just click RESTORE and iTunes will automatically restore your iTouch to original set-up and download the iOS6 update.
    Hope this helps..
