okay! so my ipod has a sad face and i tried reseting it and it didnt work it said plug in an ipod toupdate it! and the ipod was already plugged in so it is still frozen and wont let me restart it. help me please

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Quit Safari, find the com.apple.Safari.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to the Desktop, log out/in or restart and let us know what happens.

I tried the deactivate/activate that was suggested it still didnt work. I took the ipod to a friend and hooked to her laptop and it synced fine but now trying to sync on mine it wont do it and it has the backup encryption on but no passwords will unlock it. itunes will reccognize the ipod and the iphone but while going thru the sync steps they both get to step 2 then lock up itunes and then says its syncing but will never stop. I am very frustrated and am regretting buying products from Apple.

It seems to be a glitch or bug. Its been officially acknowledged and addressed by Apple. There is no resolution other than waiting for a few days. The Kb article by Apple states it will fix itself on January 7.

Symptoms
After January 1st, 2013, Do Not Disturb mode stays on past its scheduled end time.
Resolution
Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
To turn off the scheduling feature, tap Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and switch Scheduled to Off.

Did you use the instructions I provided in the document above? It can be a bit tricky getting the device into recovery mode. Try a few more times.

when i click on the itunes tab on my ipod touch it messages that it cannot connect to itunes store and it wont let me watch or listen to anything on youtube can anybody help

So it is not this problem:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

Does the iPod connect to other networks? (noit clear if you have access to more than one)
Does the iPod see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on the router
- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

why cant i download a podcast i bought onto my ipod touch?i have tried deleting it and redownloading it but it still wont work.I have also done it with some apps that wont work as in wont install for mewat and why wont they work please help

Are the apps compatible with your model iPod and its iOS?
Do you have any Restrictions set that would prevent installing apps? Settings>General>Restrictions
What happens when you try to sync the podcasts? Error messages?
Have you successfully synced apps and posdcasts from this iTunes library before?

I just want to delete my purchased app history off my iPod touch I have already tried reset the iPod all that did was delete my pictures. My music and purchased apps were still on there! How do you just clear everything off of it? I want nothing on there

Iphone Ipod is crashing and it wont come up in ITunes! Help!

I have a 16G 3Gs and yesterday, I was using my phone on a bose dock and suddenly the iPod started crashing. I can bring up itunes and it seems to respond for 3-5 seconds and then just closes out to the main screen.
Everything else seems to be working fine, the phone doesnt lock up or anything. I tried doing a hard reset to no avail. I had it plugged into a usb connection on my car stereo and it would play pandora music but my stereo never fully recognized the phone. I just kept saying "Reading..." the entire time, never got an error.
Now that im home, I plugged it into my computer to restore my phone and ITunes doesnt see it, though the computer recognizes it. Any suggestions?
My info: 3Gs 16gig, iOS 4, Windows 7, Itunes 9.2.0.61

I have the same problem. After reseting my ipod classic 80 GB I have a screen telling me to use the restore function. I have the latest iTunes version, I did restore but when the iPod restart I get the message "your iPod is corrupt, use restore function". I tried to restore again but the same message appear

Took ipod off dock and it wont respond

So basically a few months ago I put my ipod nano 3g on an ipod dock while I slept, which I've done may times before. In the morning when I went to go remove it was really hot, it wouldn't turn on, so I tried re-setting it, that didn't work, so I plugged it into my computer and that also didn't work... First off, the touch will normally turn itself off after you unplug it from your computer or an external charger. However, you should be able to turn it on again.
I suggest you do a reset. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together until you see the Apple logo. You may see a red slider appear but keep holding the buttons down - it will take about 10 seconds. This should get you back working again.

The number of songs that any iDevice will store depends on both the length/duration of songs and on the audio format(s) used. The figure of "1700" is nothing more than an estimate ... probably based on 3-minute songs and low bit-rates. There is no definitive number - your iPod's capacity is based on available memory (which, for an 8Gb iPod is actually around 7Gb). Best way to manage the content of your iPod is to create one or more playlists that are then used as the basis for sync operations (set this up when your iPod is connected).

I was listing to music and my ipod turned off and it wont turn back on

I dont know what to do, because i also cant see my serial number to try and help someone fix it at the apple store.
