My Ipod is stuck in hold. I can't get it to unlock! Someone help
I woke up around 5:30 this morning to find my ipod stuck in locked mode. I tried everything i can think of. I can't use the five r's because my ipod wont even switch screen so i can reset it. I really love my ipod but i dont have any other options to fix it. It wont even play music. I had it on repeat when i went to bed and its not playing any music now. It says the battery is fully charged and when i tried to see if plugging it in to charge with my wall charger or into my computer nothing happened. My computer doesnt even recognize it. Someone PLEEEAAASSSEEE help!!!
Ok so i checked the ipod model i have and i have the ipod nano 3rd generation...i guess i was a little off on the whole finding out which one i have...but anyways i still dont have the answer i need to get my ipod fixed. It's still stuck on the hold screen. My dad says to let it's battery charge die and then hope its unfrozen after i charge it. That's what i think is whats wrong with it, that its screen is frozen or something along those lines. I just want an answer to get it fixed.

my ipod is stuck on hold. i already tried toggling the switch back and forth and nothing happens. even when i turn my hold switch off the padlock icon still shows up. i even restored my ipod. the only way i can listen to songs is if i plug in my FM radio receiver. but it plays everything in order and i'm always stuck listening to the same songs. is there any way i can fix it or should i just wait until i can get enough money to buy an ipod with more space? my ipod is stuck on hold, the hold switch doesn't make any difference. it still comes on when being charged but it stays on hold. can anybody help?
Ok try turning the hold switch to off
then turn it to hold
and then push down on the hold switch button applying pressure and then turn the hold switch button off

If a reset of restore of the device does not resolve the issue, you'll need to have the iPod serviced either by Apple or a third party repair center. It sounds like your hold switch is broken and in need of replacement.

Plug your ipod into your computer. When it shows in iTunes it should show your ipod in the top. In the Versions section below there should be two things: "Your ipod is up to date" with an update button greyed out after it and "If you are experiencing problems...." right below that. At the end of that statement you should see a "restore" button. Click on that and it will as you if you are sure you want to restore as it will remove everything you put on your ipod from it. Click yes. It will then begin to reset it to factory settings. Finally, you will get a prompt telling you not to unplug your ipod as the process is completing and your ipod will show in itunes again when finished. Click "ok". When it is done it will show up as it did when you first purchased the ipod asking you to name it, etc.

Have you tried holding the centr button and menu. This will force a shutdown.

HP Windows XPwhat u mean by hold mode? Have u checked its not on screenlock by psliding the button next to the headphones port?
have u reset it by holding the centre button with the menu button together for 10 seconds?
Try tapping it lightly if no other solution works.

I've tried everything suggested on apples website, and nothing is working. My ipod is stuck in hold mode. I've tried toggling the switch, that doesn't work, I've tried pressing select/play, it is unresponsive. I've tried restoring to factory defaults, and also uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes. Please help.
It's likely a hardware malfunction with the lock switch itself. Either way, you'll need to have the iPod serviced either by Apple or a third party repair company.
There is no other way to troubleshoot this issue. Sorry.

I updated my iPod/iTunes software and now I can't get it to shuffle songs in a playlist; it either shuffles albums in a playlist or songs on the whole iPod, neither of which is what I want to do. How do I get it to shuffle songs in just one playlist?
The shuffle setting in the main menu will shuffle through the entire library as you have found out.
You need to go to settings>shuffle this will toggle through off/song/album. Once you have set this it will stay the same until you change the setting.
Now when you start playing a song in a playlist the iPod will shuffle through that playlist (or if you select your song through artist then it will shuffle through all the songs for that artist etc) -
My 1st ipod was lost. My library is on a Dell with Windows. I registered my new ipod to a Mac. How can I get my library from Windows onto my new Ipod?
Thank you for your help. I am still having trouble. As you can tell, I am not technologically advanced AT ALL. My music is all showing up in the library but when I go to file in the top left corner, Sync is greyed out and I cannot select it. I'm gonna continue to try this. The only way you will be able to track that iPod is if it is turned on and connected to a wifi network by the person that has it.

Place the iPod in Recovery mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes.
