Please help I just bought this Ipod used and didnt know it was stuck on this screen. It is stuck with the apple screen and wont turn off even after holding bothe the on/off button and home button at the same time, itunes does not even recongnize the device i need to find a way to do a complete restore as if it were just purchased please help

Have you tried connecting it to your iTunes library in recovery mode using the instructions in this Apple support document?

NB550D boots into black screen and can't even turn off

I've had my NB550D for just under a month. I've upgraded the memory to 2Gb and the Op System to Home Premium, but nothing else. It's on auto update re security issues and I've stayed with the McAfee protection that was pre-installed (and paid for a year).
Everything fine until a couple of days ago when switching on, I just got black screen. Could hear fan and disk though. Eventually pressed the on/off button, nothing changed, waited a bit, pressed it again and it turned off. When I pressed again it came on as normal. Used it several times over last couple of days and was fine. Now today I switch on and black screen again, and can hear fan. When I eventually pressed switch, I could hear disk whirr but still just black screen. Since then have tried pressing on/of switch occasionally but no change at all - can't even get it to switch off!
Does anyone have any suggestions please?

I read in another forum that the answer is to take the battery out (having already taken the mains out) so it'll die and then press and hold the power button for 30 - 60 seconds. I had nothing urgent to do so let it die naturally when the battery ran out rather than take the battery out when it was on. I then held the power button for 60 seconds, plugged it into the mains and switched on again. It's started fine now but of course I don't know a) whether that's because I held the power button in for 60 seconds and b) whether same thing's going to happen again, so if anybody does have experience of this behaviour, I'd be grateful for comment.

Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have.

I've got the same problem.
I wanted to download the new itunes version for iphone but it got stuck. I had no choice but disconnecting my iphone. Then I couldn't sync it anymore.
I switched off my phone by holding down the sleep button but it has never successfully switched off. The round thing still turns.
I've tried to connect it back to the itunes. This is the error message I get: itunes can't connect to the iphone. Code 0xE8000065. I tried to find out what error message this is but the apple support site I saw didn't mention this error code.

HT4623 My Apple 4s phone is frozen up and I can't do anything on it. I was updating my IOS to IOS7 as prompted to on the screen when I reached the part where it asked for an backup E-mail address. I supplied this and it froze up and won't even turn off

I received a prompt on the screen of my Iphone 4S to update my IOS to IOS7. I clicked on "Start" and went thru and supplied all the requested info. It asked me for an alternate back-up E-mail address, I entered this on the screen and when I clicked on "Next" it would go no further on this setup. Now I can't do anything because it's like it totally froze up. I can't even turn my phone off nor go forward or anything. What can I do to turn my phone off and totally stop this update???

Imac air powers up but no display. Apple light is on; laptop is warm on bottom. No screen and no ability to turn off.

I turned off my iMac Air last night as normal and had it hooked to the power charger because the battery indicator was low. This morning I pressed the Power button and nothing. I pressed a couple more times and I heard the start-up chime. The Apple insignia is lit; the bottom of the computer is warm. But no display and I can't seem to turn the laptop off. I've tried hitting the power button several times but nothing happens. I'm stuck. Help please. Thanks, John

So I waited a couple of hours with the Macbook Air unplugged. After two hours still noticed the Apple logo was "on" and the bottom of the laptop was warm. Pushed the power button a couple of times and the machine turned off. I pressed the power button again and heard the startup chime. I did this while holding down Option-Command-"R"-'P" (no easy task). The screen came on, very fuzzy at first but the cleared up. Wanted to know if I wanted to reinstall the OS, restore a backup or just restart. I took the simplest approach and restarted. The system rebooted fine. The display is back to where it was before. Needless to say, I immediately backed everything up to iCloud just in case this happens again.

I can only make outgoing calls. My home button is only working for voice control and won't take me back to menu. I am only in the calling screen and can't even shut off. What do I do?

I am freaking out! I am a college student and owner of my Iphone 3Gs. I just got it this past August and I don't understand what is wrong. I did not drop it or come into contact with any water or disabling substance. I am literally stuck on the calling page with favorites, recents, contacts, keypad and voicemail. When I push my Home button I am not brought back to my menu. When I hold it down voice control is enabled but I still can't get to my menu. Then when I try to hold the sleep button to shut off nothing happens. What's wrong with my phone? I can't even go into contacts and hit text message nothing happens. Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

Was the battery replaced by Apple or an authorized repair facility? If not, and any warranty existed, that warranty is now void.

Press ON/OFF button by 5 seconds;
(when monitor goes off) press by 10 seconds the ON/OFF + HOME (10 sec)
Then ONLY HOME BUTTON (10 sec).
......wai wai wai wait.....and It recovers.....
