My Ipod isn't functioning properly

July 1-2006 - I got my Ipod Nano the Christmas of 2005. Around Febuary my mom accidently put it through the washing machine. After I dried it out over the next few months, I found out that the USB cord is a data cord. Then at that point I knew that there had to be power at both ends of the cord for the Ipod to become capable to send and receive a signal. So I went out and bought a power adapter so I could plug it into the wall and charge it. To my surprise it started to work again. Just the other day I started to charge it and the screen showed a picture of an exlemation mark and a folder. Underneith that it said www.apple.com/support/Ipod. So I searched and I couldn't find anything that could help me. I've tryed the five r's and still nothing. You can contact me at [email protected] Help needed, please. Thank you.

IPod isn't functioning

My iPod, when plugged into the computer is unreadable. On the iPod screen appears the battery w/lightning bolt picture. It doesn't blink, and the battery bar doesn't move or fill.
After about half an hour the iPod will try to turn on. It will freeze on the apple sign until it starts saying "Battery is low please connect to..." Even though it is connected to the computer.
During its meager power stages, I have been able to get my computer to barely read it and reformat the iPod. I don't think it should be the battery, because it was working for hours the last time I used it.
My computer has, in the past been able to read my iPod. Yes, I have tried re-installing and rebooting, but to no avail. I have tried every single USB port (even though they all worked before) but no changes occur.
Any help would be wonderful, and if there are any questions I could answer for you to make things a little more clear, just let me know.

Why wont my iPod 4G camera function properly, and how do I fix it?

So, my older sister used to own this iPod 4G but then broke the screen on it, so she got a new iPod 5th generation instead, while my dad replaced the screen on the iPod 4G and gave it to me. Now, ever since the new screen was installed, both cameras would have horrifying quality or wouldn't work at all, because they're always flashing colors like blue, purple, and green, while the front camera might show almost everything in red. At first I thought it was because my sister dropped it on the concrete, but she acctually took a picture after it fell and everything was fine. I wanted to know if a wire might be loose, if it's just something wrong with the cameras themselves, or if my dad might've done something, and how can I fix it. I've already got two new camera that I might try to replace the old ones with, but first I need another oppinion wether or not its worth the risk of having no camera at all.

It is hit or miss whether replacing the cameras will resolve the problem. I would first try taking it apart and then carefully disconnecting and reconnecting the camera cables.
Since it both cameras it is likely not a problem with the logic board but still could be.

I bought my ipad from Malaysia and now i live in sri lanka .i have problem with my ipad's location services because it isn't functioning properly but during my stay in Malaysia it showed my location but now it doesn't. how to solve this?

when i open maps or any other location services based application it says "cannot determine your location". but when i was in malaysia it worked perfectly.it will be great if somebody help me to correct this.

It seems like you are using a Wi-Fi model. For location services to work, you would need to be connected to the internet.

Mouse scroll not functioning properly

My mouse scroll function isn't functioning properly. It scrolls upwards and sideways, as per normal, but not downwards. What could be causing this?

I have to clean mine a couple of times a month, when the above cleaning method doesn't work I resort to more drastic measures. I use a small amount of Rubbing Alcohol on a clean old t-shirt to clean the ball and then blow it out. The Alcohol cuts the skin oil in the ball socket that the grit, dust and lint are trapped in. I have done this many times in the last year and a half, it works well with no ill affects to the mouse.

IMessage doesn't function properly after iOS 8 update

Looked everywhere for somebody with a similar problem but only came to find issues with group messaging, so here is my issue:
I have an iPhone 5C, 16GB with the brand new iOS 8 update.
Before iOS 8, I was able to use all the features of my phone to their full potential, including iMessage.
After about 2 days of having iOS 8, an issue presented itself, I couldn't iMessage only a handful of my friends.
Oddly enough, my iMessage has been acting slow, but still functioning for everyone else while the handful of friends I mentioned before cannot receive or message me using iMessage.
To clarify what happens:
When I click on my Messages app on my iPhone I use the above top-right plus sign to create a new conversation.
When I begin to type in their contact, I notice their name is gray. If this isn't an issue already, when I click on their name to create a new conversation, despite it being gray, it shows green instead of the official iMessage blue, which is the only way I can contact them.
I'd also like to point out that it does not matter whether I am connected to WiFi or using my AT&T Cellular data, iMessage just fails to function properly.
If it helps, the two people I have noticed this issue with have iPhone 4's running the latest iOS 7 firmware. I have been able to message another friend with an iPhone 4, which is a reason I think their phones aren't the issue.

I've had lots of problems with sending some messages as text messages and then other times as iMessages even though I have data and am signed into iCloud and am sending to another iPhone. Group messages are definitely problems with everyone having iPhones. It seems like it usually involves someone who hasn't updated to iOS8 yet. But it doesn't always mess up. It seems random for me and my friends and family who are having these same issues.

I have exactly the same issues with my new 80G iPOD. I have found that when connecting to my PC, the iPOD does not start iTUNES 7. This can be resolved by stopping the iPOD Service in Computer Management, connecting the iPOD and then starting it again. Seems like a stupid long-winded way to do things, but at least you can get some stuff on to your iPOD.
As far as using Restore goes - I just get the restoring iPOD message you described, which it blatantly isn't :((

If FaceTime ever worked properly for you, restarting your modem (and separate router/wireless if you have such) may help. If the problem continues, try connecting at a different location to see if the problem is within your wi-fi.
The black dot problem may mean you need to reset your iPod. If that does not help, it may need service by an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

Classic iPod isn't recognized in iTunes / Cannot Sync

My iTunes is up-to-date with 12.1.1 version.
I have a Classic iPod that was working fine until the last 2 updates.
Now it's not recognized and, therefore, won't sync.
Here is what happens:
(1) Open iTunes. It freezes
(2) Finally opens. Plug in Classic iPod. Sometimes icon shows sometimes not. Have to often manually eject (Windows 7 won't let me as 'it's in use').
(3) Once finally showing. Try to Sync.
(4) Get error message stating computer isn't authorized. (Have already deauthorized and reauthorized several times).
(5) Then get message with 2 other UserIds that they need to be authorized or I will lose 40 songs. (Have authorized those as well).
(6) Then get error message that device isn't recognized. I have run diagnostics in iTunes as well, Device isn't recognized.
I am fairly computer savvy, but not a computer expert by any means. I hope that this is an easy fix. I am concerned my iPod has outlived its time with all of these new updates. Also, wondering if there is a driver or something I need for my iPod.
Would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you!

ICloud is not functioning properly?

So I am using iCloud for my parents' iPhones. My father's iPhone has almost all of his data filled up yet I cannot access any of the photos or e-mails that were backed up?!?!?! What the heck? How exactly does this whole outlook thing work? I tried setting it up but it didn't work yet it keeps sending e-mail data that I cannot access? Why does apple make this so confusing?
Same goes for my mother's phone. I cannot access literally anything. I cannot see what was backed up on the icloud.com thing nor can I see it on the iCloud control panel. Can someone tell me exactly how to make this function properly?
I personally do not use iCloud for my iPhone because of this, it is such a pain in the butt I just backup to iTunes instead..........
So that's the backstory, here are the questions for any tl;dr scenarios:
1. How do you setup iCloud properly on the PC? How does outlook work for it since I cannot set it up without constantly getting stupid error messages.
2. How do you delete individual items on iCloud? I cannot even view what iCloud backs up on the iCloud control panel.

It isn’t clear what the problem is exactly. Try the following first:
1. Quit Mail if it’s running.
2. Make a backup copy of the ~/Library/Mail folder, just in case something goes wrong while trying to solve the problem. You can do this in the Finder by dragging the folder to the Desktop while holding the Option (Alt) key down, for example. This is where all your mail is stored.
3. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/. Locate com.apple.mail.plist and move it to the Desktop (to be deleted if this fixes the problem).
4. Open Mail. You’ll have to set up your non-.Mac accounts from scratch all over again. If given the option to import existing mailboxes or something like that, don’t. Just enter the account information and Mail will automagically rediscover the data in ~/Library/Mail/ when done.
You’ll also have to re-configure most of your settings in Mail > Preferences. For spam-related security reasons, the first thing you should do is go to Preferences > Viewing and disable Display remote images in HTML messages if it’s enabled.
5. As a side effect of re-creating com.apple.mail.plist, Mail might rename Outbox (which is where messages waiting to be sent are stored) to Delivered. The name of that mailbox is actually a misnomer, as it would contain messages (if any) that couldn’t be delivered for some reason. You can delete that mailbox if you wish.
Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user’s home folder. You can easily locate any of the folders referred to in this post by copying the file path here, doing Go > Go to Folder in the Finder, and pasting the file path there.
