My iPod just froze what should I do?

I did the new update of twitter on my iPod just now. As I was scrolling and replying back to a tweet my iPod froze. It's been like for for over 10 minutes. I tried to shut down my iPod but it's unresponsive. I would call apple but the serial number to my iPod cannot be accessed since the screen froze. What should I do? Any advice or tips that would help?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

What does "conged" mean?

If the phone froze on the home screen, or has a black screen and will not turn on even during charging the best thin to do is to hold the TOP power button and the HOME button for atleast 10-15 seconds or until you see the APPLE logo on the device. Alternatively if you are inside of an app, you can try the method mentioned here first, or double tap the home screen button to switch tasks and see if you can hold down the application that was running so that they begin to "shake" and you can close that app by pressing the X that appears. He are some apps that are still compatible for iOS 4.2
> Pandora Radio (supports iOS 3 or better)
> Army of Darkness: Defense (support iOS 3 or better)
> Jet Fighters: ONLINE
> Jet Fighters II: ONLINE
These are the apps that I know that supports iOS 4.2...... get these before the their next updates.
Some of these apps may be laggy but still playable.
BUT IF YOU DO UPGRADE TO BETTER IPOD...... I would get the iTouch 4g OR 5g because of iOS 6 and use of camera and better graphics.

Providing she regularly synced her iPod, her purchases should be in her iTunes library. If this is the case, then you can simply reset her iPod and put all of her data back on it although I don't know if this works with apps. If she synced it before she reset the pass word then you can stop the auto sync, restore, and put the back up on it. If all else falls, iTunes and the App store remember purchases so you can't buy the same thing twice, well at least I haven't. First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
