My ipod just keeps sync it want let me do anything I try to reset it but it want let me do that either. It just keeps having the loading symbol for hours and hours. Whats wrong?

My Ipod just keeps doing the sync circle, It want stop. Tried to reset it but it keeps doing the same thing I can't even get on my ipod. Not sure what the problem is.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Reinstall Snow Leopard without erasing the drive
Do the following:

2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.

Yes, many people do just that. Copy your iTunes folder to the external drive. Once done, open iTunes with Option held down and select the new location of the library file.

For other music yo will have to get them from you you got them before.

Error -3231 Keeps coming up. I have spent hours and hours on this. Spoken with several people at Apple. Nothing they suggest works. This is so frustrating!!

iMatch error -3231. No matter what Apple suggest, absolutely nothing works. My songs upload to iMath then come to a complete halt at around 1646 of 5086 songs. All my songs are taken from CDs I have purchased in stores, or purchased from iTunes.

The senior advisor was put on after the original advisor got stuck as to what to do. She had advised Deleting all my data and starting again as if I had anew computer. I told her this was out of the question as I had over 4000 photos, plus emails, documents, downlaods etc.
So I was passed to the Senoir Advisor who did much the same as the orher advisors had. We tried to use Migration Assistant but it did not give that as an option. I unplugged the Iomega hard drive to see if that was causing any problems. It uses a Firewire connection. We set up a temporary account, which is where all the data is now. The new account is as if the computer is new and as yet has no settings.
A previous advisor who was very helpful told me that after we had deleted the Lion Operating System that I should ask the next Advisor to "use Migration Assistant in first time setup visit, in order to restore Applications and User Account" .
All of them talked about Time Machine, but no-one including the Senior Advisor seems to be able to fix it. It was bought new from the Apple Store in Southampton in June 2011.
Currently it works sporadically on the three problem Applications. This is not good enough, and although I have contacted the Senior Advisor three times since by email I have had no response. Could it be something mechanical like a loose connection in the heart of the machine? It is driving me mad and taking up hours and hours of my life.

If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

Photos. They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. Copied them (hours and hours) to external hard drive. They are now in alphabetical order (19,000 of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order-and have been taken with different cameras- help!!!!!!

They are on my macBook, backed up on time machine. There are 19,000+ of them, some rescued from a pc crash- which I used the nifty iPhoto to put back into date order.
I want to take them all off my laptop, now............as I need to use it for WORK!!
Copied them (hours and hours) to another external hard drive.
They are now in alphabetical order (all 19,000+ of them) NOT IN THEIR EVENTS or date order. (-They have also been taken with different cameras over the years and some of the generic camera numbering remains.)
I have tried to copy them (only a few as an experiment) one event at a time, but that again "opens up" the Event "folder" and tips them out as individuals and therefore just lists image letters and numbers alphabetically.
How can I copy
the whole library still in "Events" to an external hard drive?
the folders/albums I have already made on to this hard drive?
and how can I add to this back up monthly, again keeping events and folders separate and updated?
Mac is so user friendly - there must be a way.........

UPDATE : I have re-installed from disk, various apps that were no longer functioning such as iLife, iWork etc. So, I now can access my photos again.
Also, I had to re-install all the software for my printer ( Stylus Pro 4880 ) and reset it so the printer is working again.
Photoshop CS4 won't open. I think I will have to get in touch with Adobe as basically, I guess they have a built-in "blocker" which prevents me from opening the app as the license is for only 1 user and having re-installed the OS, there are now, in effect, 2 users ( Me and Me 1, I think ).
So, having added on a new external HD, Time Machine has made a copy of most of the files, folders, apps etc onto the external HD. The internal HD is still nearly full ( 220 GBs out of 232 GBs ).
I am guessing the way to go now in order to free up space on the internal HD is to delete/trash older photos from my iPhoto library and hope that if needed, I will be able to access them on the external HD.
Am I correct ? Please advise before I do something I will regret.

I am pretty certain that the Serveris "localhost",
Name is my macs name (like my-mac-min)
password is "my login password"
and they suggest port 21.
But what is the file path, lets just say my site is set up http://localhost/siteftp and is actually at my Users/Sites/siteftp folder.
Why cant this program connect to the mac.
Is it because they are both operating in the same localhost enviroment,
could it be my folder permissions are not correct on siteftp folder?

I tried turning the computer off and then back on. The alerts don't show the notice to update as resolved. Hopefully this is not a problem or an indicator or another problem. Should I ignore or reload 10.10.1 from the app store to trigger a resolved check in a green circle?
Interesting that I had to buy server software after my free Yosemite download. I would have hoped that the two pieces of software would have gone together without any complication. It is not positive to end up buying a problem. Ah well, time to move on.

Yes, it looks like they've screwed up. Some people have been able to update CC to LR6, some people get half way through the download and it fails, some people (me included don't get any option to upgrade to LR6 in the CC app... It's all very annoying. I tried the help chat, and I got "log out of the CC and try again in 2-3 hours". Well, that was half an hour ago, but I'm not holding my breath for getting LR6 today.

It sounds as if your graphics chip (on the logic board) is failing. The other answer could be that your screen is not well, but I lean more towards the graphics chip. If you have Apple care or are still under warranty, call Apple.
