  • Does the iPod nano keep changing songs if I keep it in my pocket?

I'm not going to be running or gymming with the iPod nano in my pocket. It is mostly for home use. I just wanted to know that since there is no HOLD/LOCK button, it may keep changing songs if put in a tight pocket while walking or travelling. Is that the case?
Also, should I buy it for home use? (With the occasional outdoor trip? Or do you think I just stick to my laptop)

If you have Shake to Shuffle turned off and you push the sleep button it shouldn't change songs in your pocket. Mine doesn't.

  • Ipod keeps repeating song, won't shuffle

ipod keeps repeating song, won't shuffle.  HELP!!

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.
    Any luck there?

hmmmm. let's quickly check on this to begin with:
Windows confuses iPod with network drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

Assuming the songs play OK on the computer

  • I pod keeps changing songs

My i pod nano keeps changing the songs itself, if i click forward it will forward 3 songs forward. If not it will just keep changing the songs itself.
Does anyone know whats wrong with it? Or will i have to send it back to Apple.
    i pod nano   Windows XP

a reset does not fix the problem, at least, it did not for me.
Mine is currently fixed, we'll see how long it last for.
Run your Ipod Updater, do the update only first. After you are done, SAFELY REMOVE the ipod from your computer, see if that works.
Assuming that it will fail, run the IPOD updater again, this time, RESTORE the ipod. It should be hooked up while this process is going on of course. When you are done, SAFELY REMOVE the ipod again, see if this works.
After I did the restore, it renamed, my ipod to "IPOD." Initially it did not work, in fact the "IPOD" never showed up in Itunes software. We ran the RESTORE again and it seemed to have been "frozen."
After the lady talked to product support she suggested we try one more time and if that failed, take it back (it's 1 day old!).
Before I did this, I unplugged, SAFELY the IPOD and plugged it back in. It is then when "IPOD" showed up. And in fact after I SAFELY removed the ipod the songs did not skip any longer.
    1. RUN the updater, 2006-06-28. Download from apple if you do not have that updated.
    2. Run the normal update first, I highly doubt this will work.
    3. Run the RESTORE.
Always remember to SAFELY remove the hardware after each attempt, it needs to be refreshed and started anew.
If you have any questions, I can attempt to help you. I am not an Apple tech, nor a wise ol IPOD user, but my ipod is now working, and yours is not, =). Just messing around.

  • Ipod keeps switching songs

My ipod keeps bouncing around songs when i jog unless i hold it level in my hand.  Any way to correct this?

Yes, go to Settings/Music and turn off "Sake to suffle"
Turn Shake to Shuffle on or off: Choose Music, then turn Shake to Shuffle on or off. When Shake to Shuffle is on, you can shake iPod touch to shuffle and immediately change the currently playing song.

  • Last Played Date is wrong ...Ipod keeps changing date

I own a 3rd gen iPod nano and the date and time keeps changing everytime I connect it to my PC ...can anyone help me figure out how to fix this please...?
    Thanks in Advance

Well, iPod sync the Time/Date from the Computer, you should check, if GMT+x is right ... and that should fix the problem.
Note: Your iPod should also be set to the right Time Zone ( Settings > Date & Time > Time Zone. )
    Hope this helps,
    Darie.

  • IPod Touch changing songs on its own

My iPod Touch 4G randomly shuffles songs every 5 seconds. Here is what happens.
I got to play a song, and then about 5 - 10 seconds later, the song shuffles to another song, and picks up at the exact time the other song stopped playing. (example: Song 1 stops suddenly at 0:05 seconds, and Song 2 starts at 0:05, then Song 2 will stop at 0:xx, and then Song 3 will start at 0:xx).
Another note for the song changes, is that when it changes, it makes a sort of "ripping noise", sort of like a noise a zipper makes when you pull it up.
This happens quite often with the album Recovery by Eminem, and I don't think other albums have done this.
Don't tell me it is the "shake to shuffle" because I have my iPod lying FLAT on a table, i'm not touching it, there is no movement, and it will do it.
    Thanks!

I am searching for the answer to this as I am having the same problem. It's frustrating when you want to hear a song and can only get 5 seconds before it changes. What I have noticed is when I am home and having it laying flat, it works fine. However, if I have my ipod in my coat pocket and I get close to work (hospital) that's when it starts. Not sure if it's trying to pick up as signal from the hospital. I have my wifi setting turned off though. Not sure what else to do.

  • My Ipod keeps skipping songs

While i was listening to my ipod (it was in my pocket) i accidentally knocked the buttons. Now when i play my songs it just skips every song. Only when i press pause it stops but when i press play it starts skipping really fast again.
I think this is something to do with the settings. I tried using the "Reset All Settings" button but it still does it. Any help someone can give me on how to stop it skipping would be great. Thanks

Recently my iPod keeps changing time. It's seems to be losing time. When this happens I can't access anything without connecting lead and turning it off briefly.

    Could the battery be dying?
Have yu tried the standard fixes:
    - Reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
