My ipod keeps shutting itself off

For example I am in shuffle and I will skip the song and it turns itself off.

New 5g Video Ipods should not restart/shut off when using a simple function as skip/next ~~ I found this glitch on the first day of owning mine and returned it IMMEDIATELY. Some people will suggest to you to RESTORE the ipod; don't bother, it will not fix the issue. Return it for another one. I got mine exchanged with no hassle.

  • My Blackberry Curve 8520 Keeps Shutting Itself Off...

Moderators, I really need your help.
My Blackberry Curve 8520 Keeps Shutting Itself Off after my power supply got damaged (the cord was cut open and the two small cables were touching each other causing it to spark a little). Now I turn it on and just 5 to 10 seconds later it shuts itself off everytime. The media card is damaged too. Last night I charged its batteries and 5 minutes ago it was already drained. I dont want to lose my contacts, notes or BBM contacts.
Please at least help me diagnose the problem.

    Hi dalstongirl
Have you already sent your BlackBerry in for service?  If not, I would advise checking for any software updates by plugging in your BlackBerry to your PC and going to www.blackberry.com/update
    Thanks

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

  • Why does my nano iPod 7gen shut itself off during a pause when running

I am using the nano ipod 7th generation and nike plus. It  shuts itself off if I have hit pause during a run while taking a break. This is very frustrating because I have to start my run over, it also shows up as two runs in one day. How can I fix this?

I usually hit the pause. I have tried putting it to sleep as not to bump the resume workout on the face. This doesnt help either. After a few minutes when waking up the ipod it shows the nike screen and I have to start a new workout.

  • BRAND NEW i27 KEEPS SHUTTING ITSELF OFF

Just bought the latest and apparently greatest in iMac desktop computers and I am getting frustrated cause the bloody thing keeps shutting itself down.
It is the i27 with 16gb ram, the i7 3.4 quad core with 768gig Flash and the graphics upgrade to 2gig g-force gtx 680. We didnt mess around with "should we"
It will be fine when using it but when you walk away from it, the screen saver comes on and it eventually goes to sleep. Now this is pi55ing my wife off no end as she uses automatic programs on farmville etc. Even when its running, it still opts for Screen saver, and sleep. When she wakes it up, low and behold she logs in and her automatic programs have stopped and I get the old "come and fix this stupid thing"
I have turned off every automatic shutdown and screensaver option I can find.
    Now
I am starting to get pi55ed off.
    Anyone got any sugegstions?

So you've gone to system prefences, energy settings, and moved the computer sleep slider to never but it still goes to sleep?
You can open terminal and type pmset -g to verify your sleep setting is 0 and not a number like 15 or 30...
You can also download the app caffine from the Mac App Store.  Install it and you'll get a coffee cup on the upper task bar.  Click it and your iMac will never sleep for sure.

  • Canon 60d keeps shutting itself off!!

I'm having a major issue with my Canon 60d and I'm hoping you can help me.
I'm shooting a documentary with many interviews. This **bleep** camera keeps shutting off. Not the 12 min shut off during video, it just keeps shutting off.
I read on blogs about the SD card not keeping up. I've used two cards: ScanDisk 32 mb class 10, and Transcend 32 mb class 10 and had the same issue. I'm shooting 1920x1080 24fps.
I'm thinking maybe the camera is getting hot? It will initially record fine for about 20 min's then shut off. Recoding again it shuts off after about 7 min. then 5 min, then 3 then continues at a lower and lower recording time until it shuts off around 30 seconds into recording.
I have found nothing online that will solve this problem.
I am interviewing many well know figures who have been around a long time and have great notoriety, and it's extremely embarrassing  to have this happening. Not to mention not getting the information I need for the movie because of camera issues.
    Please help!!!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Much gratitude,

It would be very unusual to not get the white and red icons. I suggest more experiments and you might try to reduce your resolution. Have you tried 720P? Also, 32 GB is a huge card size. (I know, I know, they are very cost effective.) You should try a smaller size card. Thirty minutes of 1080p movie should work out to about 2GB making a 32GB card capable of holding about 7 hours of footage.
I guess the bottom line is you should make certain that you don't need a second body to film your interviews; something I think you should seriously consider. One body could cool while the other shoots.
    Good luck.

  • My ipod keeps turning itself off,  it syncs and charges fine. does anyone know what i can do?

i brought a second hand ipod, i would told it was fully functional. however, sometimes it likes to turn itself off halfway through songs.
it syncs to my mac fine and the battery can last upto a few days.
does anybody please have any advice? thanks.

Have you restored it in iTunes yet? If the issue is software related then a restore will resolve your issue, since it will remove all data and system software and reinstall the system software.

  • Macbook keeps shutting itself off after upgrading to snow leopard

Hi everyone, I hope you can help me out as I am out of ideas! After be assured that I could upgrade my late 2006 intel based macbook (10.5.8) to snow leopard, I bought the disc and tried to install. Everytime I tried, it shut itself down. I wiped the hard drive clean and tried again. Still happened. Finally after 14 hours of attempts, something finally stuck and I had snow leopard. I then tried to get all the updates and it kept shutting down. I tried to migrate my files from time machine and it shut itself down. Fed up, I tried to go back to leopard, but the computer won't stay on long enough to complete this. I wiped the hard drive clean again and now it won't stay on long enough to get to the start up page! HELP! I tried starting up in safe mode and it won't work. I've run disc utility several times and it says everything is OK. Now I have a blank hard drive on a computer that won't stay on for more than 5 minutes. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I got to take it in to an apple specialist as the apple store has already told me the refuse to work on it because it is older than 5 years!!!!

    Try a PRAM reset
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound two more times.
    Release the keys.

  • My iPod 5 keeps shutting itself off even though it is on the charger

First of all, my iPod can go from half full to 'only 20% left' and back. Super annoying but:
Even when my iPod 5 is low on battery and plugged in with an official charger, he still shuts himself down out of the blue and says that the battery is empty. Moments later when he is recharged again everything is fine and I can continue where I was. But still, this annoys the **** out of me...
It can't be charger because I just bought a new one after half a year because of the awesome quality..
Don't get me wrong, I love Apple but my iPod is not even a year old and this makes me very sad. HELP?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why does my ipod frequently shuts itself off?

My ipod classic keeps turning off while I'm listening to it and I think maybe it has a virus.  What should I do?

There are no known viruses for the iPod Classic. When it shuts off, are you able to start it back up again without any problems or do you have to connect it to iTunes or an external power source to let it charge?
Have you worked through any of the usual 5 R's of troubleshooting yet to rule out the possibility of a software glitch or corrupted data?

  • Why does my Macbook Core 2 Duo 13" keep shutting itself off and/or repetively rebooting on its own?

My Macbook Core 2 Duo 13" won't stay on for any significant time anymore. When it does, it seems that the slightest movement, or pressing a key will shut it down or it just shuts down on its own. Or it reboots repetitively after chiming. Or it remains on as it is doing now for the last 30 minutes, long enough to see if it needed a firmware update. It's never on long enough to really use it anymore.
When there is no image on the screen, I often can hear the fan or drive running quietly in the background. I can turn it off by powering down with the button. Without the power cord, it will eventually drain the battery if I don't force shut it down.
I have verified that the hard drive is OK by removing it and mounting it externally.
I have been unable to do a hard system reboot (hold down powerbutton until system starts and continue to hold until tone) - no tone, just keeps rebooting.
When it stayed on long enough, I tried to install the firmware 1.1 update. Message was that it didn't need it.
I have tried removing one RAM card at a time ( it has 1GB + 512Mb). Haven't really noticed any change. "POST" message is OK when it starts
Any ideas? I've looked at all the "usual suspects".  Thanks!

  • My Macbook Pro keeps shutting itself off... Why?

I am not sure what happened to it because nothing out of the ordinary has happened.. Just one day it started turning on and off.. and then finally it was permanently off. I took it to a battery store to get a new battery and light icon turned on as if macbook was about to turn on,  but screen was black. I looked up online and i found a place that said to take battery out and with batter out hold power button down for 5 seconds. I did this and walah, laptop turned on for me like nothing had happened. I thought that I had solved my problem, but I was wrong. Earlier today, laptop shut down again and I once again had to take battery out and hold power button down.
Does anyone know why my MacBook is doing this? Is there something specific that I need to take it in for? It's so frustrating!

Yes.  So a diagnosis can be performed so 1) you know exactly what is wrong with it instead of throwing parts at it and trying things that only solve the issue temporarily and 2) so you can get an estimate and get it fixed.

  • IPhone 3G keeps shutting itself off

Randomly my iPhone will come up with the power off slider and cancel button at the bottom. I don't even have to be touching it at the time. If I don't catch it and hit cancel, it just goes to the apple logo. I reset the settings and also did a full restore but it is still happening. It also feels really warm. It started doing this after I was laying out the other day and it got a bit hot. I never got the temperature warning, will this go away or am I just kinda screwed?

mine is doing exactly the same ... did you find a solution?

  • IPod keeps turning itself on and off after attempted update

I attempted to update my iPod touch 4 from iOS 5.0.1 to iOS 5.1 but now my iPod keeps shutting itself off and turning itself on.

    - Try a reset:
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then try to restore the iPod.
    - If you could not restore and it is still turning on and of and on and off...let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try the reset and restore again.

  • Shuts itself off

My ipod nano shuts itself off ... after about 90 seconds, when the screen would normally go dark but the music keeps playing, it has suddenly started just shutting itself down. What happened?

i had the same problem with my pearl, basically if u are using the pouch it came in, dont, it somehow confuses the phone so it crashes, that sorta fixed the problem with mine, if u can master wipe it, that should fix it, it wil be a dodgy programe on ur phone, or if all else fails, take it bak to where u got it from, and they should send it bak to blackberry and u might get a new phone, thats what i did eventually..hope this helps
