"i dont want to resore it beacuase ive spent about 150 ta 200 dollars on songs and videos"
And you don't have a back up of these items?
If not, you're in a spot of trouble here because either way (a restore or a return to Apple) will result in all the files on the iPod being erased.

  • My iPod keeps skipping over songs?

I know they're all the right format, because they were working recently. Not too long ago, I got a few new songs and went to put them on my iPod, as usual.
When it finished syncing, I played the first song and it just skipped to the next song instantly, it kept skipping songs before it stopped on one and played it. When I hit the button to go to the next song, it did it again before stopping in another.
I've completely wiped and restored it three times, but nothing changed. I've checked the files of the songs and they're all normal - like I said, they all worked until I did a recent sync to add new music. But the files of the new songs are the same as the others. Nothing is out of the ordinary.
This was the best I could describe this, hope someone can understand and help me out.
It's quite frustrating having an iPod that won't play music.

Assuming a PC I would try:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • TS1424 downloaded an album and some of the songs are skipped.  They are in the list but, it skips over the song

I downloaded "O Brother Where Art Thou" and four of the 19 songs will not play.  The are skipped in the purchased play list and in music list.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Ipod mini skips over downloaded itunes songs only

after downloading songs from itunes, the ipod mini skips over the songs after playing them 3 or 4 times

Make sure you have the newest version of iTunes and iPod Updater, and do a restore with the Updater and resync the songs via iTunes.
Generally skipping purchased songs are related to out of date software and updating and restoring or reputting them back on seems to help.

  • TS1718 I have purchased two complete albums in the last three weeks, old Bob Seger and new Maroone 5, both have the same issue, only a few songs will play and will skip over the rest of the songs on IPod and on computer????

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the corrupt tracks from the music section of your iTunes library, close & then reopen iTunes, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unchecked. This seems to help with partial downloads...
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the "Report a problem" links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • Why do the songs on my phone keep skipping over each other?

I haven't been able to sync my itunes since to my iphone 4 since I've updated to ios7 two weeks ago. Only one song will play, and it was purchased on the itunes store, but the other songs are from CDs that I've transfered onto my itunes. Anyways, when i try to play the music on my phone it just skips over every song. It also has a red square and circle around the square. Someone please help!

I'm not completely sure what iTunes Match is.
Then you are probably not using it, since it is a paid service. iTunes Match will let you store your music in the cloud and will download it from the cloud to your devices. Since it downloads songs from the store rather than upload your song to the cloud, if the song is available from the store, sometimes the downloaded song may have a different cover. That is why was asking about iTunes Match.
If your songs transferred incompletely by syncing with USB, I'd connect the iPhone again to iTunes and restore it to factory settings,  see this support article:   http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    Then sync again.

  • Ipod randomly skipping to the end of songs

when playing certain songs on my ipod (5th gen 60gb), the song will play fine until there are about 45 seconds left, at which point the ipod will skip until there is one second left, and freeze for about a minute. this problem does not occur when playing the songs in itunes.
the problem seems to only happen with songs I have ripped using itunes lame, but this does not happen with all songs I have ripped using that software. this problem is very annoying and is keeping me from listening to many songs on my ipod.
thanks in advance for any help/advice.

i'm having the same problem of skipping songs. Minehappens on the gen5 60 gig player only when I want to use a playlist. Mine just seem sto not like my song selection and just skipps a multitude of songs until it find one it likes and starts there. In one list it just goes to the ninth song plays it through and then goes to 12, 14 etc. Should anyone come up with a cause or solution it would be great. I have reset the player three times and that goes not do the trick, even for a minute.

  • My iPod keeps freezing during the middle of songs etc.?

My iPod keeps freezing in the middle of songs and even when i plug it into the computer to charge. I've tried to restore it but iTunes rejects it, saying that it has an error. what can I do?

I have an Ipod touch.  Recently it has started stopping in the middle of the songs.  Sometimes it stops completely and sometimes it goes to the next song.
All the songs is it stopping on are recent purchases from Itunes.  A couple of the songs stopped midway while playing them on Itunes.  I did unsync the new songs and then added them again.
I tried the reset mentioned above, but it didn't help.
I have over 3000 songs, I'd like to avoid unsyncing and resyncing if at all possible.
the restore to factory defaults removes all the updates, doesn't it?
    I'd appreciate any help.

  • My iPod keeps skipping songs halfway through

Assuming the songs play OK on the computer
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Nano keeps skipping over songs

My Nano is two weeks old and over the weekend, it starting "skipping" over songs. I would choose album, hit play, then it would rapidly move through each album song until it got to the end. It skips over each song immediately, and does not playback the song even for a second. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Ok then...
-Try a reset on your Nano (your manual should explain how to do this)
-If problem persists download the latest iPod updater and perform a restore on the Nano. A restore erases all content on the Nano so make sure all of your music exists on your computer before doing this. The iPod Updater can be downloaded from -->http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/

  • My 6th generation keeps skipping to next song

My ipod, 1 day old, keeps skipping to the next song before the song is over, is there any way I can fix that? I noticed it is also doing it in iTunes.

Longshot here, but I had the same thing happen to me, and it turned out to be the way I was using my Nano. I clipped it to my shirt collar with the display inward to my chest, and the contact with my skin was triggering the touch display. Maybe not what's happening to you, but my solution was to put the display to sleep (one button push) while in use.
The fact that it's doing it in iTunes leads me to believe this isn't your problem, but it's what I got.

  • Some of my songs are listed twice on my iPod itself.  However, when I plug the iPod into my computer, the songs don't show up twice in iTunes when I click on device/music. How do I get rid of the duplicate songs on my iPod?

Some of my songs are listed twice on my iPod itself.  However, when I plug the iPod into my computer, the songs don't show up twice in iTunes when I click on device/music. How do I get rid of the duplicate songs on my iPod?

that is odd! that should not be happening.
Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes.

  • My ipod click skips to random songs after playing 10 seconds of a song

my ipod click skips to random songs after playing 10 seconds of a song and it won't reset either, can anyone help?
    ipod click   Windows 2000

There are three possible causes of skipping music after playing a bit of the song:
    1) the music on your computer is munged
    2) the music was munged as it transferred to your iPod
    3) the iPod is 'confused'
Listen to a couple songs on your computer - the same ones that are skipping on your iPod. Are they okay? Scratch problem 1 - otherwise you have some reripping to do, assuming you haven't backed them up.
Next, reset your iPod. If the music is still skipping then the fastest fix is to use your restore/upgrade software to restore the iPod. This will erase the music and re-install the iPod's operating system which will take care of possible problems 2 and 3.
If the iPod isn't resetting - first make sure you are following the reset instructions for your iPod. There are different methods for different generations. Also, sometimes it is best to reset with the iPod plugged in. Finally, make sure you don't have the hold button set.

My Ipod shuffle stops playing the song after a few seconds, i can skip to the next song but it happens again for every song..
the thing is its random, sometimes 5secs or 10 secs or at the most a whole minute
i have updated, restored, reinstalled an all that but i really dont want to send it back as im in afghanistan and would be weeks before i see it again an i use eveyday!! for running.. i thought maybe sweat had got inside it, its not the headphones i have already tried swapping them.
please help out a soldier in need?

mine is doing the same thing; I have updated it, and restored the factory settings, and it still isn't working. I use mine for running as well; I think it has something to do with the sweat. Hopefully someone posts with a fix.
