My ipod keeps turning on and off by itself.  what can i do?

My ipod touch keeps turning on and off by itself.  What can I do?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My Galaxy 4 keeps turning on and off by itself and the battery gets pretty warm

I have a Galaxy S4 and it keeps turning on and off by itself.  As well the battery usage is pretty quick and the battery keeps getting pretty warm.  Any thoughts.

Thanks to all of you for your input. Fortunately, for me, the phone was still under warranty so there's no expense to me.  However, during the course of my conversation with the Tier 2 tech, it was mentioned that a recent update MAY have been the problem.  But after doing a refresh, the problem continued with the phone turning on and off all by itself.  That was the whole problem.  But, the battery life went down dramatically within a few hours after it had been charged all night.  I was told that this was due to the phone cycling and off.  As well, even the safe mode didn't solve the problem that would allow me to use the phone without being able to use the apps.  I had pulled the battery to let it set for a while but with no success.  I also pulled the SIM card before they refreshed the update but, still no go.  Anyhow, the end result was that the Tech that I was talking to then transferred me to another Tech -- I guess someone a little higher up -- and I was then informed that they were going to send me another phone.  I don't recall that anyone placed the blame on Samsung or Verizon.  So, there ya go.  Thanks again.

Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
    iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
    Then See Here  >  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to try this More than Once...  Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
Some users have reported as many as 8 or 9 attempts were necessary before success.
However... If the Device has been Hacked / Modified... This will not necessarily work.

  • My iPad keeps turning on and off by itself

Hi! My iPad just keeps turning on and off by itself. I tried turning it off "ON MY OWN" and turning it back on but it keeps returning to the issue. Is there anyone that can help with my issue? I have the "iPad Mini" . There are some times where it will just stop and next thing you know, I go to a app and it returns to the issue :( . ( BY THE WAY, I did update the iPad to the  final  update , but it still continues to turn on and off by itself WITHOUT me even touching it. What should I do????

Restore the iPad completely (this is a fresh install of the iOS not just an update).
    1) Backup your iPad. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    2) Restore the iOS via iTunes. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
    3) Restore from your Backup created in step 1. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766

  • My ipod is turning on and off by itself!!

i don`t know what`s wrong with it. i need help. i tried to turn my ipod on but it just attempts to turn on and then it turns off. then afterwards it does that constantly and won`t stop after a while. what should i do?
      Windows XP

My new 30 gig iPod does something similar to his. It repeatedly turns itself on and off, won't be recognised by computer and stays at the apple logo when on (backlight turns on and then off) :/
I'll try draining the battery, but I really don't want to have to take it back?

  • My LG enV 3 keeps turning on and off by itself!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening? It's been fully charged, I took out the battery and put it back in, and still nothing...it just keeps shutting off and then on every minute or so...do I need a new battery or is it something requiring repair?

Take the battery out and gently clean the contacts with a Q-Tip or can of compressed air. Then, fold a small piece of paper a couple times and stick it between the battery and the phone itself.
This is a known issue with the EnV3 and the ONLY way we've figured out how to fix it is the above suggestion. The batteries were made slightly off so they get dirty very easily and the paper helps them fit more snug. This will only fix the problem for a few months or so, but just keep doing it and it will help a great deal.
