My iPod keeps using my old Apple ID/email to try to access iCloud.

Even though it shows the correct ID/email in the Settings when I try to access iCloud my old email pops up as my Apple ID. I can't delete it and tyoe in the correct one, and I can't sign in undet that email - it no longer exists, I don't remember my password & when I try to reset it I get a message that my info (birthdate) is wrong! How do I get rid of the old/wrong ID?

My Ipad shows the correct ID in the ITunes Store Settings but when I try to access iCloud my old email pops up as my Apple ID. I can't delete it and type in the correct one, and I can't sign in undet that email bexause it no longer exists, I don't remember my password and when I try to reset it I get a message that my info (birthdate) is wrong! This seems so simple now but what a crazy day. What I ended up doing was updating my ipad (music) from my computer to the ipad and for some reason I decided to click on "The Store" and noticed the OLD email address we used for the ORIGINAL Apple ID
So I changed it and uninstalled the app for Facebook as this is the app that I couldn't update and
Boom
Everything is working on my ipad - when I go to download or update an app it shows the NEW Apple ID.
Hope if anyone else has this problem it helps and the only thing now to hope for is The Canucks win their game tonight

Assuming that you are talking about the iTunes Store on an iPad, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Sign out. Sign in with the new ID.

Unfortunately - I can not use my Old Apple ID at all - Apple/Itunes is not recognizing it at all. I thought about your last suggestion and the system is not accepting the old ID and password. I believe this is because the old id (email address) is associated to a service (Verizon) that I no long have. When I discontinued service with Verizon, their email address that I used as my Old apple ID become invalid.
I am sure this scenario happens frequently - hopefully Apple can find a better solution in the future.

Did you change the ID you are using for iCoud? If so, did you delete the account, then sign back in with your new ID on your device?

-I've already replaced my old 60 GB Ipod in exchange for an 80GB, I bring it home, sync it up with Itunes v7.02 and everything works fine for a while. Not even 24 hours later I go down into my artist/song directory to play a song, and it freezes again. I do the menu center key soft reboot a few times to bypass it and it works for awhile. I've tried looking for current updates for software on it, Restoring it, Resyncing and now It gets to the point everytime I unplug the ipod from charging I get back to the menu and try to play a song or video and it does nothing, it freezes everytime.
There has to be an explanation as to why my first one did it and why my new 80GB is doing it.
I've already ran a diagnosis on all the files in the ipod all of them come back clean.
Help me out.

My ipod is having a similar problem. The black apple logo has been the only thing I see on my ipod. I went a step farther and held the select and play/pause button to get it into disk mode. Once I am here I cannot proceed. I do not have computer that I hook it up to and have transferred the desired songs from an ex-girlfriends computer which I do not have access. What can I do once I have it in disk mode if I do not have a computer available?

I changed my Apple ID and iMessage keeps using my old one. There seems to be no way to change this. I have been unable to text for days now. This is unbelievable I feel like smashing this phone to bits at least it would have some use.

You'll need to go to Settings > App Store and iTunes
Tap on your Apple ID
Sign out
Sign in with the new ID
Once you've completed this, go back into Settings > Message and check the Send and Receive addresses you have checked and only check the address you want to use.
If you completely changed your Apple ID, please note that all Apps downloaded under the previous ID will be forever tied to that ID.
I never understand why anyone completely changed their Apple ID. Changing the Password for the ID is usually all that is required.

Making a new Apple ID was the worst thing you could of done. This is very bad to do. Not sure why people do that. Your Apple ID is Your Apple ID. You only need one and it is best to only have one Apple ID for all apple devices.
