My ipod mic when i facetime doesnt work very well the other person cant hear me sometimes why is that?

The mic is the little hole on the back side of the iPod by the camera lens. It is clear and unobstructed?
Open the Voice Memos app and see if you get good respnse on the VU meter.

This forum is riddled with questions by users that cannot get their computer to do what they want, *despite* the fact they use a very precise and (usually) unambiguous method of telling it want they want it to do -- a programming language. Making it comprehend *natural* language is, by any way of measuring, a number of degrees more difficult.
That said: in what way would a computer program (advanced or "dumb") be able to help the OP? Spell check is one -- but it's not a *fact* that anything written *badly* equals nonsense. In politics, for example, the most eloquent speakers still manage to make a fool of themselves :D The same goes for "grammar". Of course, bad grammar is more difficult to understand -- EVEN for a human. So a computer is bound to fail on that as well.
Fact checking then? I usually can't even find what I want in one go with Almighty Google (which seems to turn things around: if it cannot find "enough" web pages with the exact phrase you asked it, it automatically assumes you are interested in synonyms, antonyms, homonyms, and other *unrelated* stuff! Yeah THANK you but I want to find what I typed in!)
A good starting point would be to define in more detail what this hypothetical software *ought* to do -- that needs to be a bit more concrete than "I want it to do my job for me."

When I go to turn up or down my volume it says I'm plugged into headphones even when I'm not. Why would that be?

Hello, more than likely the switch inside the headphone port is stuck open. Try looking inside the port, do you see any foreign material; lint, dirt, etc? If so try to remove it by blowing it out. If nothing appears to be in the port try plugging and unplugging the headphone jack quickly several times to unblock the switch and/or clear the contacts. If still no joy try a reset, or Reset All Settings. If still nothing try restoring from backup or restore to new. Just make sure you backup your iPod before restoring or you will loose stuff. If problem continues contact Apple Genius Bar and have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

Alternative for HP simple pass (which doesnt work very well at all)

SO, after using HP simple pass on IE only bcause it doesnt work on CHROME...i upgraded to the latest HP simplepass....still doesnt work on chrome and now it functions very porly on IE too....it fails to ask to save/load passowords and if it does ask for a new site, if you enter the wrong PW, it saves it and doesnt ask to save a new second username like in the old version...SO I HAVE GIVEN UP ON SIMPLE PASS>...
are there any good (paid or free) alternatives????

I understand you're unhappy with the new version of HP SimplePass.
You should be able to restore the original version of SimplePass by using the HP Recovery Manager: Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8).
I have not personally tried any other security plugins for browsers to make a suggestion.

My ipod screen doesnt work whats happening? when i screen shot i can hear the sound it makes but th escreen doent turn white and when i put it on the charger you hear the sound it makes when you plug it in

last night i opened my ipod and used a phone app, the app froze so i closed it. After that i pressed the button on the top and continued to watch tv. i heard my Facebook alert come up so i tried to turn it back surprizingly screen remianed black. i tried to screenshot and you heard the sound it makes but no white flash so i put it on the charger and the regular charging alert came on but the screen remained black. i got my ipod a few weeks ago an i dont understand whats happaning could someone help me please

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

My Intel iMac always has around 2 GB available RAM, even when i run apps. Why is that?

I own a Intel iMac from aug. 2007. It has 2 gigabytes of ram and about a year ago i upgraded it with 2 gigabytes more.
The machine runs as it should and had no problems after the installation. It discovered the ram instantly and now says 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM in the "about this Mac" window.
My problem is that when i run applications which require something (like rendering in Final Cut or playing Diablo III) the activity monitor app still says that the iMac has almost 2 gigabytes of ram available.
It would only be natural to presume that it is because it does not need the additional ram, but that is not the case. Final Cut rendering is slow and Diablo III runs mostly at about 18 FPS on the lowest settings.
Why is this and is it possible to get the iMac to use that additional RAM?

This is true. It gradualy changes, but it never goes below 1 gigabyte.
This is with Diablo and Chrome running simultaneously. They are both give about 500 megabites each, wit Diablo on the lowest resolution and graphics. Still Diablo runs at about 12-18 FPS. This is my problem.
Edit: Reflecting on this I realized that OSX of cause only allows every app a limited amount of memory. This changes my question to: Is it possible to raise the apps maximum memory cap?

What do i do if my home button is not working very well if at all on my ipod touch 4g

my home button has not been working very well if at all lately. it really buggs me because i have to use the little assistive touch thing, it gets kinda annoying after using that for awhile. now i know that you can take it off and replace it your self most likely ( i know you can on the iphones at least) i just dont want to risk screwing up my ipod. any help will be greatly appreciated.

My home button doesn't work very well, I reset and restored my Ipod but it still doesn't work

I've had this 4th gen. IPod since about mid-June, and it worked fine up until about a month ago. The home button doesn't work very well, and by that I mean if I'm in an app and hit the button once, it won't respond, or it'll think I hit it twice. If I hit the button twice, it either won't respond, or it will think I hit it once. I took it to the Apple store where they reset it. They said that if that didn't work, then to restore it. Well since resetting it didn't work, I restored it, and that didn't work either. I've had the same generation IPod before and never had this problem. Any advice?

Does the iPod show wifi bands in the upper left?

Jabra JX-10 Works Very Well

Jabra JX-10 works very well. Even the callback feature works. I am still really bummed that there is no voice command for the iPhone however. This is a real drag and dangerous while driving. I used this feature on my old phone all the time. Press the button on the headset and say "call whomever" and you were off to the races. No searching through the phone book. Using the favorites feature makes it a little better, but it is not a substitute.

Followup, I have installed the 1 GIG RAM module in the little beauty. Wow, what a difference. No swapping, all the applications respond reasonably well. I am running the iStat Menus which I have set up to watch the CPU and MEMORY usage. So I know when something is taxing the computer. It's mostly when trying to watch video.
But otherwise Safari and Evernote run great, with plenty of RAM, it responds as well or better than Panther or Tiger did in 640 MB. I suppose Tiger could have used the extra RAM better also.
Since I love the keyboard on this little guy, and it's the smallest Mac notebook, it carries well in the backpack. Since Safari 4 runs on PowerPC still, it is pretty fast rendering web pages.
A trick I used to reduce the resources it consumes, was to disable the Dashboard features, since I didn't use them much anyway. I think I found that here in Apple discussions.
So the little PowerBook G4 12-inch is my main Coffee shop nomad netbook. I think I can get another couple years out of it.

Saw may web sites discussing this same issue; many discussions point to hardware problems but there is no official word from Apple about it, which is disapointing !?? Few discussions point to software problem with solutions based on try and error, and they don't seem to work.
