My iPod nano 3rd gen won't sync to my iTunes.

I was charging my iPod when it ended up going to a white screen. I reset it like I was suppose to and that didn't help, so I connected it to my laptop and restored it via iTunes like another post on this forum had suggested. I went back through the setup and did everything the way I had the first time and now it won't sync to my iTunes library. When I go to the iPod tab and select sync, it loads for maybe half a second and stops on my computer screen, then the iPod will show that it's syncing for a few more seconds and then it stops and there is no media on the iPod. Can anyone maybe help me figure this out? Thanks in advance.

I am trying to sync my 3rd gen nano as well with itunes 10 but in my case I can see the removable drive in the Finder. I can eve write files to this mounted drive.
When I connect the same nano to my Windows XP which also has itunes 10 it shows up with the starting config screen.

  • IPod Nano 6th Gen Won't Sync After Getting iTunes Match

I have a new iPod Nano 6th Generation, with the new clock faces, bought in december. I bought iTunes Match in early january.
After syncing and using my ipod successfully, I was confident that iTunes Match would not effect my ipod syncing as I only use iTunes Match for my Mac and iPad. However, after adding some CD's to iTunes and downloading some tracks, my iPod began syncing but then was interuppted by an error - 13019. It then wouldn't sync. I restored the iPod and the error came up again and after a few failed attempts, the iPod went into a boot loop showing the apple logo, then the homescreen then it would flash white and show the apple again.
I then thought to test it I would turn off iTunes match and sync the iPod and see if it would work. It didn't however, after restoring it with iTunes match turned off, it worked and synced, albeit with no playlists for some reason.
I am very disappointed and would like to know if I could fix it so my ipod can sync with itunes while iTunes match is turned on (the best option) or to be able to get a refund on iTunes match if it will not work and is causing me to not be able to use my iPod.
    Thanks for any Replies

  • My ipod nano 7th gen won't sync with new itunes!

Ever since I have downloaded the new version of itunes, my ipod will no longer sync. Firstly, it wouldn't even be recognised on my desktop but I somehow managed to fix that and is now recongnised on computer. When I plug my ipod in it says its connected but now everytime i try to sync my ipod it comes up with the same message on itunes of 'an ipod has been detected, but cannot be indentified properly. Please disconnect an reconnect the ipod, then try again. If the problem persits, unintall and reintall itunes.' I have gone through all the support on the apple website, and uninstalled itunes numerous times and tried all usb ports to make sure there is no faults in that area but nothing seems to work. Just annoying how my ipod used to work perfectly fine before I downloaded the new version of itunes, thought updates were meant to improve the experience? Any help will be very much appreciated!

  • Help!!! My ipod nano (3rd gen) won't sync!!

I am very confused and need someone's expert help with my Nano.  I began downloading music like crazy.  All was working well, suddenly one day, my ipod will no longer work on my computer; not recognized.  I try everything I can think of, finally resorting to restoring my ipod to factory beginnings.  Which wipes out all of my music.  I think I am safe because Itunes will save it all.  Not to be!! I lost it all there too.  I began loading all my music again.  Took me forever.  Laptop now recognizes my ipod, and all the music is on it, but I cannot add any of it to Itunes.  Nor can I download any purchased music in the "new" account I have without wiping out what is on the ipod.
Please, please someone tell me what I have done wrong and how to fix it. I will be so grateful for any advice.

  • IPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4

iPod Nano 6th gen won't sync with iTunes 12.1.1.4.
This iPod was synced with another iTunes library. I had to transfer iTunes library from another laptop.
Launch iTunes (12.1.1.4), plug in Nano, Nano display says connected, Nano appears in iTunes, but when I attempt to navigate to Nano nothing occurs, or if I am able to navigate to Nano then I can't go any further and select music to sync and the Nano comes out of connected state. I have had to close iTunes, sometimes reboot laptop, but nothing I do appears to make any difference. It won't allow me to continue music selection process and start the sync process. Is there a way to simply reset the Nano and reconnect to get it to sync? I don't care about content as it needs to be resynced with this iteration of iTunes because it is currently associated with the other iTunes library.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    What solved my problem:
I restored my iPod nano on my wife's PC, which had version 11 of iTunes. I was then able to sync it on my PC. Why didn't I restore it on my PC? See following details.
    Additional details:
I first took the iPod to the local Apple Store, where the only course of action they could offer was to restore the iPod. So they did. When I got home, it wouldn't even connect to iTunes on my PC, which was a regression from the day before. Out of desperation I plugged it into my wife's PC, and her older version of iTunes immediately told me the iPod had been formatted on a Mac and it needed to be restored on a PC to be usable by a Windows machine. Why my newer version of iTunes couldn't tell me that is a mystery.

my ipod touch 3rd gen will not sync to pc.itunes file menu sync my ipod is greyed out.and i cant sync or put any new songs.please help me.

I've gotten the iPod to sync after restoring it and not changing ANY of the music sync settings.  I didn't even click "sync music", I just have it on manual and clicked autofill.
After it synced all of the music successfully, I tried to sync a playlist (my recently added), and it's gone bonkers again, it won't sync the playlist's music, or any new music now.

  • IPod Nano 3rd Gen won't play AIFF files from Logic Pro 9

Hi, so I've bounced a few tracks I was working on in Logic pro 9 as AIFF files, imported them into iTunes and then synced them down to both an iPod Touch 2nd gen and this iPod Nano 3rd Gen. The tracks play fine on the iPod Touch, but on the Nano, when I try to play a track, it shoes the "player" screen for a second, but it always bounces back to the track listing.
According to the iPod Nano 3rd gen spec sheet, it does support AIFF files:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP14
Any idea as to why this is happening?
Also, I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.4, iTunes 9.2 and I reset the iPod nano just before starting this whole project.
I'd like to keep the tracks in AIFF if possible...

I've tried all the different troubleshooting through Apple but can't get my Ipod Touch 3rd Gen to show up on windows much less sync with Itunes.  I just went through the process of fixing my Iphone so I know that Itunes is properly installed and the other drivers should be good.  I even turned on Bonjour, which the one of the trouble shooting steps exposed.   Any tips other then buy a new Ipod touch?

  • IPod Nano 6th gen. won't sync to iTunes 11 on Windows 8?

Hi, I recently acquired a new Windows 8 laptop and after installing iTunes 11 I decided to sync my iPod Nano 6th gen. My iPod was last synced to iTunes 10.6 on Windows 7. When I synced the iPod to the new laptop I was receiving the problem of the WDF_VIOLATION which had something do to with Windows 8 and iTunes 11 being in compatible. I changed the compatibilty settings for Itunes to Windows 7 and the error has passed. The problem left standing is that my iPod will now not sync the library. After clicking"sync" either a very fast recognition happens or nothing at all will hapen and either way I'm left with the same music as I had on the previous iTunes. Is there a reason or anything I can do to change this? Thanks

You can only sync with one iTunes library. See the following for switching syncing computers.

  • Ipod nano 3rd gen won't accept music

So, I just bought an ipod nano 3rd generation off of Craigslist.
Now, the guy said that the iPod worked. When I got it home, I was looking through the music already on it when it froze. I don't know if this caused my problem, but I just plugged it in from its frozen state into my computer.
I reset it to factory settings, then started loading music onto it. iTunes showed that it was loading all of this music onto my iPod. But, every time I eject it, the iPod shows that I have none. Does anybody know how to help me? I'm tired of being iPodless. :/

  • IPod nano (1st Gen) won't sync with iTunes 7

I upgraded iTunes to latest version and now when I connect my Nano it does not sync the music. I have 382 tunes on my Nano and it loaded only 25 into the Library - this were all Music Store purchases strangely.

iPod Nano 1st generation   Windows XP

i say that even tho itunes 7 fixed holes in 6 its still totaly CRAP comapared to 5. and ya it half makes sense to put out a new itunes along with a new ipod gen. but still when the millions of ppl with the first gin have so many problems i dont see how apple isnt getting sued for exentialy sabotoging milions of peoples ipod. i mean when u pay at least $200 for something i would think it sould last more then8 months and not only am i having the itunes problems with sync but according to the guy that reinstalled windows on my laptop its itunes that made it crash and i found an article that thousands of other people had the same thing happen so if thats true thats around $500 ($200 for ipod and $300 for windows pro install cd) apple took from me
