My ipod nano 3rd generation .. HELP !
My iPod Nano 3rd generation won't let me add any new music onto it.. It works fine when I use it and iTunes recognizes it when I plug it into my computer, but it won't let me add or delete any music .. I think it's corrupted, but I don't wanna lose any of the music I already have on there ! Is there any way to uncorrupt my ipod nano without having to restore it and wipe it out completely ?? Someone PLEASE HELP ME !!
Why do you think it is corrupted? What happens when you try to add music?

My computer had a virus and i had to reset windows, so all my music got wiped off the system.
i then reinstalled windows and itunes. the itunes library didn't import any music because there wasn't any music on my computer.
a few days ago, My ipod nano 3rd generation froze and i had to reset it, all my old music is on my ipod.
but when i try to sync new music from my library to my ipod - it doesn't work!!!!! It just keeps on saying that my ipod is synced with another library (not true) and that i can't sync it unless i wipe off all the music on my ipod.
PLEASE HELP!Did everyone try the basic "5Rs" first? Mainly did you first try to reset the iPod and then if that didn't work, did you try to restore it?

Does the iPod nano 3rd Generation charge and sync in an iPhone 3G Dock?
I wanna bye an iPhone 3G Dock. Now I have the question if I can connect my iPod nano 3rd Generation to the new dock for syncing and charging. On Apples homepage is the campatibility status set to only iPhone 3G, but I question this because older docks, like the one for the old iPod Photo works with other iPods as well.
The dock connector on the iPhone 3G dock seems to be the same as the one on the charging cable and that cable has to be inserted in the dock. So why should it not work?
I know I could bye the iPhone 3G cradle for the universal dock I already have, but I want to have the ability to make speakerphone conversations with the iPhone in the dock. That only works well with the original iPhone 3G dock.
Can someone help me?Bit late on the old reply, but i'm using a different Apple Dock for my Nano. I have the Universal one,but it looked so big for the little Nano. I stumbled across an iPhone one by mistake, but only cost me £7 delivered, brand new.
So in answer to your question, yes. And it enables me to get a skin on the iPod and still use the dock... -

Im trying to sync photos from my mac to my iPod nano 3rd generation, and an error keeps coming up that says "format could not be converted". How do I fix this?
Hi newipoduser,
Here are some possible solutions:
Do you use musicmatch jukebox on your computer? If you do, you have to go into task manager on windows and end process mim.exe. It interferes with disconnecting ext devices
Empty your "trash/recycle bin."
If that doesn't work, try quitting all your programs, especially music-type programs, basically things that look for mp3's etc.
if that doesn't work, "log off" then "log on" and that should refresh/purge your OS system.
Finally, you can restart your computer.
Hope one of these helps!
Cheers,

My Ipod nano (3rd Generation) will not play itunes u and some other MPEG stuff. It Justs restarts everytime I try to play it.
Hello, Grover,
This forum is for questions from people who administer iTunes U sites. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the iPod nano forums.

My ipod nano 3rd generation, when connected by usb, does not show up in itunes, does not show up on my computer, does not seem to charge by the wall charger. It just has a black screen. Any ideas for me?
I've run diagnostics. Can't find device. I've tried resetting. The toggle has been turned on and off.Cable works fine on my other iPod. Reset by pressing menu and center button together for 6-10 seconds. Left it to charge for many hours. Started acting up while running. Suddenly the music stopped playing but my Nike + was still working for the rest of my run. Took it straight it home and plugged it in to the wall to recharge since the battery was fairly low. Looked like it recharged ok but then screen went blank and now does it not show up on iTunes, does not seem to recharge by the wall charger (apple wall charger plugged into a surge protector in India). I have turned the hold switch off and on many times.
Sounds like a repair issue, which is not easy to do in India :( -
I still have my iPod nano 3rd generation, but my old computer crashed and I did not have itunes backed up. Is there a way to get the music from ipod to new computer library and then on to the new ipod ?
Save all the photos from your Droid into a folder on your computer.
Connect your device to your computer. On iTunes left Pane, select iPhone under 'Devices'; then on the right Pane, select PHOTO tab. Make sure Sync Photo box is checked, and "from" box selected the folder that has Droid's photos. Then click the SYNC or APPLY button on the lower right window. -
Connecting an iPod nano (3rd generation) to Windows Vista
I have purchased an iPod nano (3rd generation) and I tried to connect it via USB to a Windows Vista Enterprise Laptop. Even though the iPod is connected (as it appears on the iPod screen), Windows fails to locate the driver to install it. I have tried several articles found in the discussions forum, reseting the iPod nano, re-installing iTunes, and rebooting Vista, but no solution given.
Please advise.
ThanksHave not been able to connect to iTunes for months, right about the time Microsoft put out the Zune! Would love to hear from a lawyer about a class action lawsuit againat Apple since this issue has not been resolved and we are required to use iTunes. In the meantime, filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission!

1 iPod Nano 3rd generation and 2 user accounts on Mac Mini
My husband and I share our Mac Mini and we log in under separate user
names. He is the administrator for the computer. My problem started
when I initially purchased Phase and I could not upload it to my
iPod Nano 3rd generation. So in an effort to demonstrate the problem I had my husband log
in to the Mac Mini under his user name and then logged into the
iTunes store using my account information and bought Scrabble. He was
able to upload Phase to the iPod but then when I logged into my user
name on the Mac Mini and went to the iTunes store I could only see
Scrabble (not Phase) and in order to download it I was forced to sync
my Games on the iPod which overwrote the Phase game. So now I only
have Scrabble on my iPod and I can't see Phase in my iTunes account.
How do I remedy this?Hello HernanOtt,
Depends on where you have it serviced. Here are Apple's repair quotes.

You would probably save a lot of money by having a 3rd party repair company do the job for you instead. Just do a simple Google search for iPod repair and you'll get a plethora of results.
