My Ipod nano 4th generation just turned off and I can't restart it. Tried all the troubleshooting tips. Can't find the issue.
My three year old ipod nano 4th generation has been working fine all these years. Suddenly, last week, while it was low on battery (not completely drained), it shut down and I cannot restart it. I have tried all the troubleshooting issues and still did not manage to turn it on. Though. when I press center and menu while connected to my computer, the computer bips has if it recognized that something is trying to connect. Though, it cannot identify it and the iPod remains shut down. I cannot find the issue, perhaps I need a battery replacement?

It's possible. Just take the iPod to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

- After charging for half an hour, reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- If still problem connect the iPod to its computer and try to restore the iPod via iTunes.
- If iTunes does not see the iPod, see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will make it visible so yu can restore it. For recovery mode see:

i have the ipod touch 5th generation and last night i was using like i normally do,but the it just turned off and i thought that my battery died so i put it to charge but im pretty sure that my battery was at least 40% so i found that a little bit odd and when i plug it in it didnt make any sound and nothing showed on the screen. I kind of just ignored it so i let it charge the whole night and the next morning when i woke up the firts thing i did was to check on it. My ipod still wont turn on or charge and tried to connected to my computer but nothing shows up. i will really appreciate if someone could help me.

When listening to an audio book the ipod nano (6th generation) keeps turning off?
Help! I just purchased an ipod nano (6th generation) for the sole purpose of listening to audio books. When I start a book about 20 seconds into it the screen goes dark and the ipod stops...then I have to turn the on/off switch on to begin the book again. I'm sure it has something to do with the settings, but I cannot locate the information I need in the ipod manual. Any help anyone can give me would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
I saw your other post, but thought I would reply here as well. It is all about getting that headset seated all the way. If you can see any silver of the plug, it is not in far enough. Push harder. If it just won't go in, look in there to see if it is blocked. The bottom of the headset port is white, so if it appears all dark at the bottom... something is in there.

I have previously had a 30gb ipod video and have been able to use it primarily on my mac (for downloading) and have been able to go to work and plug it in and also run it through itunes on my work PC. I recently got the nano 4th generation and have not been able to run it on my work PC. (Im only able to work it on my MAC.) My work pc itunes says something like "this is a mac formatted ipod...please restore your ipod to run with a pc".
Is there a way I can run it on both?Windows is stupid. It can't understand the mac formatted ipod. Restore the ipod on your windows box and format it for PC. The mac will be able to read the PC ipod just fine after that.

Ipod Nano 3rd generation keeps turning on and off
I have a brand new Ipod nano. I updated the software on the ipod and my itunes. I then put songs on my ipod. After that, i ejected my ipod using the button on itunes and also by disconnecting with the windows icon in the lower left hand corner.
The ipod went to the main menu and appeared to be working. I then plugged it back in to my computer to download something else. Itunes then told me that it did not recognize my ipod and that i would have to restore to factorty settings. So i hit the link to restore to the ipod to factory settings. The ipod restarted and then itunes said that it was corrupted and needed to be restarted. Meanwhile my ipod began turning on and off, only displaying the black screen with the apple in the middle and then turning off, then turning back on and displaying the apple again.
Currently, I'm waiting for the battery to completely die, so that i can see if that will fix it. If anyone has heard of this problem and knows the solution, it would be appreciated. Happy Holidays.All,
I had the same issue on my new Ipod Nano. It works now! I did the following:
1) Called Apple. Apple told me the next steps.
2) Toggle the Hold switch 6 to 8 times. I did 10
3) Press the center button and the PLAY button! Hold for ten seconds
4) A check mark appears!
5) Connect to computer and restore your Ipod!
6) Thank me later!

I have bought iphone 4s on July 12, 2012.in Zurich in offical Apple store (Glattzentrum) and after one and a half months it just turned off and not working since. I tried three charges and nothing (it detects that charger is on but it cannot be charged). So now I have a not working phone only two and something months after purchase. But the problem is that in Croatia we have two apple reseller stores and neither don't want to exchange it, although is under warranty!!!! The closest stores are 250 km from Zagreb...Of course I have contacted Apple store in Zurich but they told me to come in Switzerland or to send credit card data for receiving new iphone, the problem is I don't have credit card with 700 euro on it!!!! what to do?? who to call ??? where to get replacment device cause this is disaster???? I wanted to buy ipad but after all this I doubt to do so...I have not working Iphone payed around 700 chf or 800 usd and cannot change it in my country, is it possible for such vast organization like apple that this things can occur?????
