My iPod nano 6g keeps skipping song. Tried rebooting and restoring?

I've tried everyhting I can think of. Please help? Really annoying as it's only done it once before, and suddenly started doing it when iTunes updated it!!

If you go to the about screen in settings, what version does it say you are running?
Does this only happen on specific tracks? If so, get info on those tracks and post the info here.
Are you using a headset that has controls on the wire?
Has the Nano gotten wet recently?

I have a 1st generation nano, (I also use it with the Nike + if that matters), it was skipping songs, and just playing whatever it wanted, so I just restored it, and now it is froze on the screen "language". Well, fate intervened and my nano is feeling much better! Poof, just started working! Oh well!

Ipod click wheel keeps skipping songs

It has worked fine for two years, but now it makes a clicking noise when you try to play a song, and it skips four songs and then plays. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you tried resetting your iPod? To reset an iPod:
Press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
Try connecting your iPod to a power source while resetting your iPod.
If several attempts at that step doesn't help, you could try restoring your iPod (if it seems like it's your iPod's problem, not an issue with the song files that your iPod is having problems playing).

IPod nano 6th gen skips songs mid track

Hi there! I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue?
Ive had my iPod nano 6th gen for a couple of weeks now and really enjoying it except when its in my speaker dock where it will occasionally play half a song, bleep, then switch to a new track! (rather annoying when you're belting out a song a it changes half way through!!!) I've also noticed that I will select an album or a particular artist to play, then when this happens and the new song will come from the main playlist!
I haven't noticed this when I have my headphones in!
This is the only thing that's bugging me about the iPod! Otherwise it's a fab piece of kit!

Head to Settings and make sure the Shake to Shuffle feature is turned Off.

IPod Not Showing in iTunes - Already Tried FAQ and Restoration

Hi,
I'm having trouble updating my iPod mini. When connected to the computer, the "Do not connect" screen still flashes, and ipod shows up in the "Safely Remore Hardware" screen. It just doesn't show up in iTunes.
I already went online to the support pages and have found the article on this, but everything there didn't work (including reistalling iTunes, deleting the bin folder, the stuff with ipodservice.exe, etc.) I also have just come back from the Apple store that just tried to restore the iPod. The ipod DID show up in the assistant's laptop's itunes. Why isn't it showing up in my itunes at home?
This only started happening about a week ago. It worked fine before that, and I didn't make any noticable changes since then.
If you have any ides, I'd appreciate it.

OK, here's an update. I got it to work, sort of. Firstly i completely uninstalled both ipod updater and itunes and resarted the computer then i reinstalled them and restarted the computer. Then I restored my ipod again for the umpteenth time. I had done all of these things multiple times, but here's the catch, When i plugged it back into the wall after the restore i left it there until it was fully charged and I mean fully. Then i plugged it into the computer.
The computer immediately recognized, itunes took some finagling, i had to end ipodservice.exe in task manager, did run ipodservice.exe, the instructions are on this site under itunes doesn't recognize ipod but windows does. SO i got it to work i was jumping for joy as itunes was copying all my songs back on to my ipod, then it suddenly stopped. Said update complete even though it had only copied about 25% of my songs. and i couldn't get the ipod to respond. I had to finally after ejecting it in itunes and trying to manually stop it and neither getting rid of the do no disconnect on my ipod, i had to "gasp" just pull it out. But the songs were on there and i plugged it back into the wall.
This morning i plugged it in again and it worked again, but the moment it became halfway discharged it would freeze and my computer won't charge it.

I would be concerned too if my iPod nano's was just showing a white screen. I recommend following the steps below:
Display shows a white screen
Try putting the iPod into disk mode:
Reset the device (Reset the device by pressing the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until the display shows the Apple logo. This should take about eight seconds).
When the Apple logo appears, press and hold the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device enters Disk Mode.
While the device is in disk mode, sync it to iTunes and try to restore.
I got this information from the following article for the 6th generation iPod nano. The steps are the same, except I updated the reset steps with the reset for the 7th generation iPod nano:

My nano has boxes around its icons, even the around the time. When I tap into my Songs or Now Playing, I can't get out because I can't slide either to the left or to the right. Please help! I have been having trouble with my ipod nano 5th generation skipping and fast forwarding songs. I have done a hard reset of the ipod nano which helped for about a day. However, the next day this problem started again. When I walk with it, it begins to skip songs, fast forward songs and act as if there is something pressing the buttons. A male voice will begin reading off songs on a playlist I'm not even on. This problem has rendered my ipod basically useless and I don't know what to do! I even locked the ipod so touching the click wheel wouldn't do anything; however, there was no success in fixing this problem. Also, I turned off the playback feature 'shake' and I feel like it still thinks that that option is on! I feel that maybe my click wheel is short circuiting. However, I am not sure. Since you have already tried a hard reset, perhaps you could try a full restore of the Nano in iTunes. This process wipes all content from the iPod, resets all settings back to their defaults, and reloads a fresh copy of the iPod's software onto the device. This would rule out the possiblity of data corruption or a software glitch on the device.

Assuming the songs play OK on the computer
Try:

Hello all - I had the same problem with my iPod Touch - The problem with mine was that it started happening when I added new music to my iPod Touch it started skipping most of the songs when I tried playing it in my car stereo, it would only play some songs but not all (my solution) - I back tracked and deleted ALL the NEW songs that I had added recently and after deleting ALL the new songs I tested my iPod Touch and it started working normal again so the problem wasn't the iPod Touch the problem was one or more of the new songs I added was corrupted and it was causing my iPod to skip most of the songs I tried to play - Nothing I tried was helping NOTHING - All you need to do is back track to all the songs you added recently and delete them until your iPod Touch starts functioning normal again...Hope this helps it sure helped me ;-)

This came from another thread, but worked for me. Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62 and Windows 8.1. Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update). Reboot, and reinstall iTunes. It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano. Good luck.
