My ipod nano 6th generation turns off after she tells me the screen is dimming than ipod goes off.

I wanted to know if there is someone at Apple that can give me some guidance on how to use my ipod nano 6th generation. I am not sure if I am working it properly or if there is something wrong with it.
I cannot get back to home page; I shut it off and on and it just stays on same page. I cannot take the voice constantly interrupting the song or functions;
When you set an album in play it will just play the first song over and over never going to next song. The genius interrupts and starts randomly playing different songs; when you select a song the voice comes and and tells you the screen is dimming and then seconds later it turns off.
I have tried to read the directions put the ipod won't allow me to follow.
Please help!

Dont buy this model again, this is the most common problem and i have gone through 4 of these 6th gen nanos all with the same problem. You can find youtube videos that show you how to fix it yourself but you run the risk of breaking your ipod, also opening the ipod voids any warrently.

That's where I would begin, too, with
Repair Disk
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.TStatus of HDD at the bottom of right panel, and report if it saysanything but Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
If DU reports errors it cannot repair you will need touse autility like TechTool Pro,Drive Geniusor DiskWarrior
First we need to determine if the issue you are experiencing with the computer is software or hardware based. Once we have gotten things sorted out there should be time enough to make you decision about keeping or returning it.

My nano 6th generation stops playing after about 30 seconds.

My Nano (6th Generation has suddenly began to stop playing music after about 30 seconds. Pressing the play arrow starts it again but only for another 30 seconds. I have restored it to factory settings twice but the problem is still there.

This happens because the nano is not detecting that your headset is inserted.
First, push your headset jack in really hard. If you can see any silver at all of the headset jack when it is plugged in, it is not fully inserted.
You should feel and hear a distinct "Click" when the headset is fully inserted.
If even after all this you still have the problem, check to see if something has gotten stuck in the headset jack. I got some pocket lint in mine the other day and it cause this. Used some can'd air to get it out.

When I'm listening to music in my playlist (shuffle mode) some of the same songs get cut off short. If I listen to the same song in the Artist folder, no problem. Anyone had this issue?

Why does my iPod Nano 6th generation stop playing after a specific time only on 2 songs? (but both at different times)

My Songs (Eminem,Just Lose It) stops after 57 second seconds and my other song (Jessie J, Who's laughing Now) stops after 1 minute 23 seconds. I think this might've happened because internet connection was lost while it was loading but I'm not sure how to help it and find a way to make it play fully threw.

Do these same songs play okay in iTunes? Were they originally downloaded from the iTunes Store?

The headphone jack on the Nano is very tight when it is new. Push the headset jack farther in, there should be no space between the plastic on the headset jack and the body of the Nano.

Hi my Ipod nano 6th keeps turning off the music when I touch the sleep/wake button.
What should I do?

Your problem is that your iPod is not sensing that your headset is inserted. There is a pin inside the headphone port on the Nano that senses if it is inserted fully. If it does not sense anything, it will pause playback when the screen turns off to save battery power. Here are the solutions:
Insert it fully. This will fix it for most of you. Press that thing in there all the way. You should feel and hear a full click when it is fully seated. If you can see ANY silver of the headset jack, it is not fully inserted.
Debris inside the headset port. If you are totally unable to push the headset jack all the way, the most likely problem is that you have crud inside your headphone jack. Try blowing it out or slapping it against your palm with the headset port facing your palm to try and get the stuff out. If you look into he jack with a light, you should be able to see to the bottom. The entire inside of the headset port is white, so if it looks dark at the bottom, that is the crud that is keeping your nano from working.
Headset jack or plug issue. If you cannot solve the problem with 1 or 2, then there is likely something physically wrong with either the headset jack on your headphones or the headset port on the nano.

Nano 6th generation - shuffle reset to song 1 after turning off

I listen to my Nano 6th generation while commuting. I have shuffle on and it works fine during the week, when it just goes to sleep overnight. But over the weekend, with a more than two day break, it turns itself off. When I start it again it's on the song it was about to play before the weekend, but it's back at song 1 of xxx. This definitely didn't happen with my previous iPod - an old 1st generation Nano. Is this a feature or a bug?
