My iPod Nano (7) is not syncing

Hello,
So I updated my iTunesafew days back and now my iPod nano is not syncing with it. I have all ready tried everything that they say to do at this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3218 I even wentand got a new wire hoping that that would work but it didn't. I figure I would look around here and see ifI could get from hepl but it looks likea lot of people are having the same problem. Maybe it's something with the new iTunes.

Well I can't thank you enough for your help. I have a network drive that I store data on so it can get backed up. So I just changed my Samba configuration to use i: drive instead of h: and WALLA! now everything works.
You are a real champ. Thanks a million for your help.

  • Help: iPod nano 7th gen not syncing with iTunes or Windows XP.

    Please help !
When we connected and followed the steps the first time, it worked perfect. But after we uploaded some CDs and tried to reconnect the PC does not see the iPod nano at all. not even on Device manager.

    Hey VandanaR,
Thanks for the question. Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like you are unable to sync your iPod because it is not connecting to iTunes. If you are experiencing this issue on a Windows computer, you can follow the applicable article from this resource:

  • New iPod Nano gen7 will not sync

    Some backround info;
My iMac 27" harddrive was recently replaced (11/2012) by Apple because they said it was defective (replacement was covered by AppleCare).
I have recently purchased an iPod Nano gen7 and connected it to sync with my iTunes library.
My iMac is running OS X 10.8.2 and my iTunes is running Ver. 10.0.2. The iPod Nano gen7 is running Ver. 1.0.2.
My iPhone 5 and iPad 4 both installed prior to my harddrive repalcement are syncing all of my tunes from my old hard drive and tunes added after the harddrive was replace. My complete iTunes library runs from 2007 to present day and is stored in the iCloud.
Listed on my iTunes account, iTunes in the Cloud under Manage Devices are 1) My iMac, 2) My iPhone, and 3) My iPad, Missing is my iPod Nano.
On my Itunes page listed undet "STORE" is a listing called PURCHASED that only shows tunes purchased since my harddrive was replaced.
My problem is that my just purchased iPod Nano gen7 will only sync tunes installed since my harddrive was replace, non of my tunes from my old harddrive.
How can I get iTunes to sync all of my iTunes library to my iPod Nano gen7.
Any and all help will be appreciated.

I have the Same problem we always have this with tech in our house! I came to find this problem after using a faulty socket box, I hadn't noticed that while my iPod was charging in my Belkin USB Adaptor that the Red Light on the Adaptor was flashing (Power On and Off) consistently because of the power not getting through to my adaptor, so while reading my tech magazine there was a rather loud 'BANG' so as you do you go and have a look so I pushed my charger in to the socket harder and the light did not come up on my iPod or my Adaptor meaning that something was wrong with the adaptor... So I checked my iPod and it would not switch on or do anything for that matter!
Please help me on this one guys, i'm not usually the one struggling with tech!

  • Ipod nano 6g will not sync OR charge! (not happy)

i bought a ipod nano 6g but 3-4 hours ago and its not syncing. It is not recognized by my comp nor itunes. Not only that it it isnt charging either. I had downloaded the latest version of itunes. I did the diagnostics test and every test passed except for 2 in which both had said "no ipod, iphone, or ipad found". If it helps i also saw something that said no apple mobile device driver found as well, but i dont know or think it has anything to do with the fact that that device is also not charging. I have gone through several self tech support links from apple's support site and itunes links. i may just take it back tommorow. Please assist me and if ur having this same problem. please bump my topic so it gets more attention.

  • Ipod Nano 6th gen not syncing mp3s after itunes 11.1.4.62 update

As the title says, after updating itunes to the 11.1.4.62 update, and everything that doing that successfully involved such as completely uninstalling all Apple software and then reinstalling itunes, my ipod nano 6th gen will not allow itunes to sync any mp3 files to it. The only way to get any new files onto it is to let the ipod convert them into AAC files when you transfer, even though all other music files on the ipod are, and have always been, mp3 files. Everything worked fine before the latest itunes update, I could sync mp3 files to the ipod nano with no problems.
Anyone know of a solution to this issue, or whether Apple are working on a solution for this obviously botched itunes update?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IPod Nano 6th gen not syncing despite reset

My Dad's iPod Nano 6th generation is not syncing with iTunes. He used it first with iTunes on a MacMini G4 and – with later versions of iTunes – ran into trouble while syncing. Now he owns a Mac Mini mid 2010 with a brand new installation of Mavericks on an erased and reformatted harddrive.
Software's all up-to-date but the iPod still does not sync. It's being recognized and being found spotless by the harddrive tool. iTunes will just show it in the sidebar with no further info on the content of the iPod being displayed except the colored bar at the bottom indicating 430+ songs on the thing. No copying manually is working.
Switching syncing options to manual and back do not help either, nor does a restart (of either iTunes or the Mac).
I have reset the iPod but the result in iTunes is now that there is a welcome screen with button «more». As soon as I click that the iPod disappears from the sidebar – with no further action or option.
I'd be glad to get any help here!

Figured out the solution: I quit iTunes, dragged the "com.apple.iTunes.plist" file (located in Library –> Preferences) to the desktop and reopened iTunes. After confirming the t&c pop-up I plugged in the iPod and it's window appeared again in full, letting me sync contents once again.

  • Second Gen Ipod Nano on Vista, not syncing

My Ipod still works and I can play I Tunes just fine on my computer. However, it absolutely refuses to work with me. Can anyone help me, please? I knew Vista was a bad idea.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.

  • Why does my replacement iPod nano 7th gen not sync?

I've just got a replacement iPod nano 7th gen after my last one was faulty (suddenly having white screens etc) - exact same model type. I've charged it, and when I put the new replacement iPod in the computer it makes the regular sound to let me know its recognised the iPod. The iPod shows the 'connected - eject before disconnecting' sign so that part of it seems to be working.
I then go to devices looking to sync the music into my new iPod and then when I do that the 'Sync' button is grey and will not let me progress to sync. This is the problem I am having and I need help.
Let me know if you need any more information, thank you.

  • Ipod Nano 7th Gen not syncing with Itunes

My 1 week old nano wont sync with Itunes anymore. I have tried rebooting it and reinstalling Itunes too, but nothing is working. It is connecting at random time but not everytime I try connecting it. I once plugged it into a different desktop and it shut down, after that it isnt connecting properly with my system. Is this the problem here?

  • IPod Nano 7th gen not syncing, accesoire not recognized

    Hello,
My iPod Nano 7th generation is not syncing to my Macbook Pro, late 2011 and my iPod says 'Accesoire not recognized', while it's a lightning-cable from Apple itself. Can anyone help?

    Hello, Bram66.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would recommend making sure you are using an Apple branded Lightning to USB cable, the MacBook Pro is connected to power and that you are not using a USB hub or docking station when charging the iPod nano.  If you are still experiencing issues after making the above changes, see the troubleshooting steps in the article below.

  • Ipod nano 1st gen not syncing

My ipod nano 1st gen is not syncing properly. When I plug it in and itunes starts up, it begins the syncing process, but gets stuck midway through. I have it set to only sync checked songs and a specific playlist. Also, it still has enough memory. Cannot get it to sync and stays busy so long i cannot eject because computer is busy syncing! I've also tried to reset and restore, but it wouldn't restore because it was busy syncing!! Help please!

I have the same problem. I have an Ipod Nano 1st generation that won't sync also. I tried downgrading Itunes version and that didn't work. I installed the latest Itunes and firmware but I'm still having the problem.
The only solution I have found is to reset the ipod, then do a restore in itunes then run the sync. It works then once and you will need to do it again everytime you sync otherwise it won't sync. It is rather disapointing considering that the Ipod is supposed to be a premium product.

  • Ipod nano 6th gen. not syncing with itunes match

After the new itunes 11 release I cannot sync my Ipod nano 6th generation with Itunes match without downloading all the songs I want to copy to my ipod to the computer first.
It is a little compersome to download 8Gb to my mac just for syncing and after sync delete them from my computer so that I just stream it again (airbook simply does not have enough space)

iTunes 11 won't even recognize my 1st and 3rd gen nanos. They've just rendered all the devices I love useless.
You can send feedback on the upgrade here:  http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html. I'm hoping enough legacy iPod users will speak up that they'll rethink and/or fix it.
