  • My iPod Nano Sixth Gen keeps pausing randomly and the screen keeps coming on at random times.  It has only started doing this the last 2 days.  Tried resetting, unplugging headphones

My iPod Nano 6th Gen keeps pausing.  It does this sometimes immediately.  Sometimes when the screen goes dark.  Sometimes after like 15 minutes.
The screen keeps going off and on at random too.
I tried resetting the settings, resetting with the buttons, searching for additional updates, unplugging the headphone and replugging it TIGHT, and new headphones.
Not only is this annoying, but the power is draining MUCH quicker between the screen coming on and having to turn it on to restart it.

If a restore of the Nano in iTunes to factory settings does not resolve the issue, it's likely hardware related, meaning you should take or send your iPod in for service.

  • The date and time on my ipod nano 7th gen keeps on changing

    Hi,
Since i bought my iPod Nano 7th gen, ive been having problems with the date and time. Every time i change it to the actual time and date, it changes after a while. Does this happen with anyone else? Would there be a problem with my iPod?

Well after i change it it seems fine, but when i use it another time it has been changed.

  • IPod Nano 7th Generation Constantly Pauses

I just bought a brand spanking new iPod nano. It's not a week old and it has a problem where it will pause/stop playing all on its own ALL the time. It's the connection because it happens with several different connectors I have in my car and with headphones. The software is up to date and the connection is secure. Possibly a fluke/faulty iPod? I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if I should just exchange it. Thanks!

    From a different post:
f you are finding that the nano pauses when the screen goes dark, it is because your headset has not been detected.
So the discussion needs to be about what would keep your headset from being detected. There are a few options:
Your headset is not inserted all the way. This solves the problem for most folks who experience it. If you see ANY silver of the headset jack when it is inserted, it is NOT fully inserted.
You have debris in your headset jack. This is the second most common problem when folks experience this. At least that seems to be the case for the folks who post what solved their problem. Look into your headset jack. The thing that senses if your headset is fully seated is at the bottom of the jack. You can have a small piece of paper in there that lets you fully insert the headset but still prevents the headset from being detected because it blocks the connection. You end up with the nano pausing when the screen goes dark. How you are going to clean out your headset jack is up to you. Some folks here have reported they had to use cotton and alcohol others have said just plowing into the jack got the stuff out. One of my sons got the little round piece of paper from a hole punch stuck in his headset jack and it caused this.
Your headset jack or plug are broken. Finally, if your headset jack or the plug are faulty, then this could happen.

  • Music keeps cutting out on my ipod nano 7th gen when using bluetooth

I just recently got an Ipod Nano 7th Gen and the music keeps cutting out when I use bluetooth headphones. It seems like it needs to have a line of sight or else the music will cut out. If I hold the ipod in my hands while running or keep it in my pocket, I am listening to more pauses than actual music. I practically have to hold the Ipod up to my head while running to not have it cut out on me (and that is obviously not comfortable). Is this how it should be or do I have a faulty Ipod? Is there some way that I can fix it or do I need to take it to the Apple store?

thankfully I was just able to find the answer in another member's post. You can double click the side button to advance the songs. I credit member little goomba for sharing the answer on another post. Now I am back to loving my new Nano!

  • Ipod nano 7th stuck at boot loop and keep restarting

i got my ipod nano 7th a few day ago. now it stuck in apple logo and keep restarting. i tried reset it already. amd i also put it in disk mode and rrestored. it still restarting the apple logo. are there any solution? There arent any apple store in my country.. Help please..

I am afraid yo need to visit the store and possibly ask for a replacement. In some cases, doing the reset will correct any issues, but by the way you describe it, it freezes with apple logo. Better to get a replacement.

  • My ipod nano 7th gen. will not advance to the next song, it will keep playing the current song until manuaaly changed. All updates are current.

I had this issue with my 6th generation nano.  It was driving me nuts, until I realized that somehow locked the repeat button on. Selecting one song rather than a selection will cause whatever song you have selected to play over and over and over and over..

    Hello there, kiwilucea.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some in-depth steps for troubleshooting your issue:

Keep in mind if you get to Step 12 Reinstall iTunes, those steps need to be followed exactly as outlined for the reinstall to be effective.

  • I got a new iPod nano 7th gen., but when I tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Some of the videos in your iTunes library cannot be copied to your iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod.

I got a new iPod nano 7th gen, but when i tried downloading a video from my iTunes library a message popped up that said: Soem of the videos in your iTunes library were not copied to yor iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod. What should I do?

I kept having a similar problem - 3 out of the 10 videos I had on iTunes wouldn't sync. They were in the right format and I KNEW they worked on my iPod because I'd RECORDED them on my iPod. I finally figured out what to do! Go to the movies in your iTunes library. Click on one that does not sync. Click on "Advanced" at the top of iTunes and choose "Create iPod or iPhone version". Once that's finished, be sure you delete the old version so you don't keep getting the error (or have 2 copies of the same video) and sync. This should eliminate the problem. At least it did for me!

  • IPod Nano 7th Generation - Bad out of the box?

I just purchased the iPod Nano 7th generation today and came home to sync it with iTunes.  iTunes recognizes the device for a second then I receive a "Disk was not ejected properly.  If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off." message.  I can see the iPod in iTunes for a second then it disappears.  As I keep it plugged in it will recognize, disappear, reapear then disappear again.
I purchased an iPod Touch 5th generation today and that is working just fine (as well as synching my other iDevices). Is this nano bad out of the box?

Same thing happened to me. It did download the playlists I wanted, but the next time I plugged it in it acted as though it was being plugged in for the very first time, (regsitration and set up etc.)
But the really bad news is the BATTERY LIFE. maybe get one hour of play time before it drains to zero.
    Anyone else have this issue?

  • IPod Nano 7th Gen says "Unsupported. Accessory is not supported" when trying to charge / sync

iPod Nano 7th Gen says "Unsupported. Accessory is not supported" when trying to charge / sync with official apple lightening cable.
It worked for almost a year then suddenly began to say that. My computer [windows], lightening cable and my power brick [all apple official] are all the same as they were when it was working. The iPod is almost a year old now, and has worked perfectly up until about a week ago.
I have tried resetting the iPod, plugging it into different charging sources but it keeps saying "Unsupported. Accessory is not supported"
Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?
    Thanks.

Your iPod Nano firmware and iTunes updated to the current versions?
It is very difficult to offer troubleshooting suggestions when the "os version" you are using is unknown as each os has their own troubleshooting solutions.
